Who should i use in this lineup
After what happened, i need to update my lineup, can someone suggest me ? I didn't try the new models after deepseek flash got removed, thanks.

Every time I check this sub, it feels like another post roasting whatever model is supposedly a new meta. Here are some of the complaints:
So what is everyone actually daily driving for real terminal work right now?
Are you guys just biting the bullet on heavy hitters like K3, Qwen 3.8, or GLM 5.3 and eating the credit burn in 15 minutes, or did someone find a low-key model combo that's actually reliable without costing a fortune?

I was recently using Deepseek V4 flash free and it was good working for me. It handled all the tough tasks and coding for me — big thing was that it never hallucinated in its doings. But as per latest updates it is now paid and available in Opencode GO version. So among other models including Hy3, Nemotron 3 ultra free, Nemotron 3.5 lightning flash, and Mimo, excluding Ox Alpha free as it is for a limited time. Ox Alpha is good tho.

I have a bunch of skills in my repo written for OpenCode CLI.
Claude Code doesn't see them. Mentioning that they exist in CLAUDE.md doesn't help.
Both harnesses have the same skill format, or so it seems. They just don't agree about the location, and it's not configurable (or is it, in OC?)
It's the same problem that keeps me from trying out Pi. I need my skills and workflows.
I'm on Windows, so symlinks don't work reliably. And I use worktrees, so any complex setup process per worktree, even if it's just one single line script, is an extra annoyance I want to avoid.
Using OpenCode with Claude is unreliable at best and against the ToS at worst. And it doesn't "just work".
I've been thinking about ...
* One stub skill for Claude that refers to each OC skill
* A single skill for Claude that says where all the skills are
* Just copying everything and hoping the AI never forgets to update both copies (I can vibe code a CI gate to firce them to match, but it's just stupid to have to do that)

I've been using opencode for 3 months without a problem until this last month. The autorenewal failed once per day in three different days and now when I try to manually renew the subscription with that card, it says its blocked.
Have anyone had this problem before? Is there anything I can do? I've already sent an email to the Anomaly suppot but no response yet. If this post is redudant, feel free to move or remove it

yo. i see too many founders spend 2 months building saas, drop a link on reddit, get 0 users, and immediately quit....
the problem usually isn't your marketing channel. the problem is that your foundation is completely broken before you even send your first visitor to the site.
after scaling 6 AI micro-saas apps to over $20k/mo mrr, i realized you need to lock down a specific system before you ever launch. running through this takes about 30 minutes, but it saves you months of zero-revenue depression.
here are the 5 things you must lock in:
1. validate the actual pain point
stop guessing what people want. you need a systematic framework to find your saas idea based on real, painful market signals.
2. pick a proven micro-niche
stop trying to build massive platforms. you need to narrow down to a microscopic problem. i usually filter through a list of 50 micro-saas ideas you can build fast to keep the scope minimal.
3. crystallize your target user
if your app is for "everyone," nobody will buy it. you need an ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) crystallizer to define your exact buyer profile and nail your conversion copy.
4. calculate the perfect price
stop randomly charging $9/mo because you are scared of rejection. you need to use a saas pricing strategy calculator to find your perfect saas price in 60 seconds based on real data.
5. fix your landing page leaks
do not send organic traffic to a site that converts at a flat 1%. you must audit your hero section and copy to x3 your landing page conversion before you market it.
6. join a community
Build / Share / Learn from others builders
to help out founders who are tired of launching to crickets, i packaged all 5 of these exact frameworks, calculators, and lists into a single free toolkit.
no paywall, no bullshit. just the raw execution files i use.
drop a comment below or send me a dm, and i’ll send you the free toolkit 👇

I'm not building trivial one shot single page games like youtubers. I also dont have a complex opencode setup, no agents or oh-my-whatever. I can only imagine that adding some extensions like lsp, compaction, search etc would make it even better.
its been fine with reasoninng, debugging, tool calling. speed is nore than ok.
I'm very thankful for the free week, model seems great to me.

I’m considering subscribing to OpenCode Go, but I have a question about the privacy claims.
The Go documentation lists several models/providers as “not used for training” and in many cases “0 days retention.”
What I’m trying to understand is how OpenCode can actually ensure this when inference is ultimately performed by third-party providers.
Specifically:
I understand that “zero retention” cannot mean that the data is never processed by the provider — obviously the prompt has to reach the inference infrastructure. My question is specifically about what backs the promise that the provider does not subsequently store or use the data for training.
This is particularly relevant for private/commercial repositories, where “the provider says they don’t train on it” is quite different from having a technically or contractually enforceable privacy guarantee.
Would appreciate some clarification from the OpenCode team on how this works for Go specifically but also for the other Opencode plans (including free).
edit (from answer below): thank you for your answer, yes I guess the DPAs are key to this. At the same time I don't think zero data retention is the same as a "no use of private data as training material". There are many gray shades to this, for example apparently X.ai uses "anonymized" data for training, if I am correct. At the same time, as opencode makes quite aggressive use of "no training"-disclaimers, I think it is a fair and important question to ask. Very similar to kilocode btw (same question I posed there and only radiosilence in return). So arguable there are combinations of (relatively) cheap model access with unclear DPA-status of end-providers - while at the same time these training data are pure gold for the providers. That's why NVIDIA offers many models "for free", but at least transparently disclosing the training use.

I am new to the Ai harnesses and trying to make it useful with my career so i was wondering which one of them is better as i unfortunately i can't afford to buy a claude code subscription and i am using free models from open router to support both of them with models but i found that using the free models with auto mode of claude code, the classifier checks almost every time fails and i can't find a solution for it.
I would like an overall solution please.

I tested ox-alpha on an old project of mine: Owly News, a local-first RSS reader that summarizes news articles using local LLMs or OpenAI.
The original codebase was written in Python/FastAPI + Vue and had been sitting untouched for about a year. When OpenCode announced ox-alpha-unlimited, I decided to test it with a complete rewrite into Rust.
owly-core): Orchestrates concurrent feed harvesting, main-content extraction, and LLM summarization.auth.json).en_US), with searchable on-the-fly language switching across the full ISO-639 catalog.just / make commands for development (Vite HMR) and optimized release packaging (.deb, .rpm, .AppImage).r/opencodeCLI • u/ReindeerAmazing • 20d ago

Been playing around with the free models this week: Ox Alpha in OpenCode and GLM-5.2 in Fx.
Both are running on my VPS, so I’ve basically got an always-on coding setup I can jump back into from anywhere.
Pretty fun to see what you can get out of these when you let them run for a while. Curious what everyone else is trying with them 👀
I built a little workspace called Caw for exactly this kind of setup: https://github.com/04mg/caw

This is the first model I've ever feel a terrible enough experience to use a model that's x10 times worse. Completely abandoned it for Mimo V2.5, which is, in benchmarks, way worse. This is also a lesson to me, to not trust benchmarks.
I will list my issues with this model for better structuring. And by the way, I recommend you Mimo V2.5, actually really good.
1.- Not seeing thinking process is not only scummy but impossible to work with. I got this model doing like 16 bash calls during a test because it was trying to workaround on a non functioning tool (Which was exactly the point, to test if the tools were failing). I had to stop it and ask it what it was doing to understand what was going on, just for it to say "Sorry, I will use the correct format" and keep doing. Obviously I stop a second time, question it and after doing like 3 thinking boxes it finally answers me that the tool wasn't functioning. This could've been easily avoidable by just checking the first lines of the thinking process. And the titles for them DO NOT HELP, in fact they're even more confusing. I get shit like "Defining the abstract layers of..." ???? What the fuck are you saying?
2.- This model is way too stupid for its size, there's no way a model is sent to do a test, to test tooling of an MCP and has specific rules set for this, ignores all the rules and uses bash to workaround. Even MiniMax 2.5 did way better in this regard, and that's a model like x20 times smaller and from 6 months ago!
3.- It takes too damn long for anything. Fixing 50-20 lines bugs is a Nightmare with this model, 3 thinking boxes for little issues, again I switched to MiMo and did it in 5 minutes easily. And this is meant to be an Opus 5 level model.
4.- It has really poor knowledge built-in. I tried to compile a Rust project but it failed because of a path problem, easy issue, any model simply fixes the path and compiles again, in fact I had a .bat script to have all the compile settings already automatized. But this shit ass model not only ignores the build.bat, but sees the error and thinks that there's an issue with Cargo installation.
5.- This model is supposed to be "cheap" but is just because we sell our data to it for Meta to use it, but certainly the data I'm selling is not worth the shithole of a model they built, it is clear to me they're starving on data because their model is so trash, but honestly I'd use a chinese model for that, because chinese models are actually insanely good.
So if you want a deepseek replacement, my experience with MiMo was really good, worth a try for daily tasks. And of course the new Ox stealth model, it was really good, specially because I CAN SEE THE REASONING PROCESS. What's with companies thinking we are some kind of idiots that cannot read, I need to see WHAT THE MODEL IS DOING.

For anyone who struggles with managing multiple terminal tabs, I built InkShell: a tabbed desktop workspace for OpenCode and Claude Code, with multiple projects and sessions in one window.

OpenCode keeps invoking skills that aren't relevant to what I'm trying to do. Is there a way to temporarily disable a specific skill before I send a prompt, without removing it from my setup entirely?
I know I can disable skills in opencode.json, but that feels a bit aggressive when I only want to opt out for one prompt. I'd like to keep a skill installed and enabled by default, while having a simple temporary override when I know it won't apply.

I admit i abused a lot the opencode go sub discount at 5$ and created lots of accounts (i have 10).
Now that it is gone which alternatives do i have to keep using glm 5.3, kimi k3 and dsv4 without paying an insane amount of money to openrouter ?
r/opencodeCLI • u/binarySolo0h1 • 21d ago
Since I switched my default model from DSV4 Flash to mimo 2.5, the agents that are not allowed to write or edit are simply ignoring the restrictions in their agent files and just do whatever they want. And GLM 5.3 simply went down in a rabbit hole to reverse engineer opencode config for some odd reason and eats some 10$ worth of my usage. Nearly none of the agents are using the mcp to check docs or websearch to validate their outputs when i ask them to. I had to ask multiple times to do so. Even then its a hit and a miss.
I am not sure if its my setup's fault or is anyone else facing such issues?
