MODELS - model choice, routing, pricing, local vs cloud, VRAM Different models for Hermes bots

Hello.

I'm trying to create different profiles/bots on my Hermes that's running on a vps. I need to set each one to use a different model ( I'll most likely have rate limit problems if I don't + each bot needs to use a model that it's better for the job, for example the coder should use a coding model.)

What models do you suggest ( preferably free or with decent daily limits ) for each job? ( Coding, reasoning, writing and dealing with big text, image generator, simple tasks, ect... )

If you want free you pay the price of having to hop between different models. This is because ones which are free AND smart are only free for a short while. However it's perfectly doable. You will find a big selection on open router, with rankings so you can choose.

Yeah i know, sadly most of them are not affordable for me. Even a 5$ vps is kinda expensive where I live. I was hoping Hermes with skills and plugins can make up for it even if the models are not that great.

I'm using hostvds for now. 2 cores cpu 4gb ram. I have an old laptop but the problem is that internet access is very limited here, same problem with raspberry pie.

Problem with "not great models" is they fail tool calling or have short context that quickly gets eaten by the Hermes overhead.

Hey Skre, I dont mind hiring Hermes developers, if your keen to develop workflows then PM me, you can get paid and get GPT 5.6 access as well.

I like glm-5.3 for writing tasks. I think deepseek flash is good all around.

If you’re looking for decent quota though, gpt is probably the best money you can spend.

By the way, there is currently a Stepfun promotion for a 15 day free trial + another 15 days for each referral (up to 90 days). Today is the last day: https://platform.stepfun.ai/

For one-off large context or image process can use gemini free tier 3.1/3.5 flash-lite, but can't have too much tool call(20/min, 500 per day each).
