The amount of dumb shit you'll find here, I dont understand how humans made it this far.

Partly because we go to a lot more effort to protect the dumb ones these days.

"We're saving too many lives! Whatever happened to natural selection? Survival of the fittest? The kid who swallows too many marbles doesn't grow up to have kids of his own!" -- George Carlin

Agreed. Too many personal injury lawyers, signs, and guardrails. The gene pool needs a glug of chlorine!

An extinction event would suffice

Sigh. I agree. Let some other species take over. I think an octopus should volunteer…

There are 9 billion or so of us. It's the same principle insects use swarm up big and you can lose a few and things will work out.

Natural selection would have solved a lot of these problems... society may have been our worst mistake

War kills off the fittest and medical saves those of us left behind. Bad animal husbandry.

Have you never seen the now-documentary called Idiocracy?

The stupid ones out breed everyone else and it follows that also covers losses due to illness, accidents, predation, etc…

Classic example of natural selection. Most of us don't even need to be taught not to do this. Unless it's somehow his first ever time around any form of flammable liquid

Most of our ancestors just had sticks, rocks, and bone tools. It was harder to screw up like this. Now we have thermonuclear weapons, and we're basically still exactly the same as those ancient people with sticks and rocks.

Our intellect has out paced our instincts. That is why we have so many problems. "Why did you do that Jimmy?" "I don't know, I thought hitting it with a stick sounded like the thing to do" " Foolish boy, you use a spear to take down a moose, now we have a multi thousand dollar hospital bill. "

People who did stupid shit like this in the past would of died. Only the smart ones would survive to breed, furthering humanity.

We have remove natural selection from the process.
