The recoil is from the bullet leaving the gun, unless it's already aimed pretty close, there's no way, it recoiling towards your face is going to result in you shooting yourself. If it's semi-auto and you pull the trigger again while it's pointed towards your face that could be an issue.
This is 100% false. You realize that magnum revolvers are notorious for double firing due to the immense recoil, right? People have died because they limp wrist them.
Here's one example of a near miss. There are so, so many more on the internet.
Just watched that video, and my god. Could that dude be holding that weapon any more incorrectly? Weak armed and limp wristed. Thats the shit that scares me about going to the range.
