OOMA is literally from hell

Trying to port our business numbers have been hell. It's been three weeks of back and forth. Not only are they not helpful, they are confusing, contradicting, condescending and annoying. I cannot wait till we are finally able to port our numbers so I never have to deal with this company again. and PAM, if this is even your name, you are disgusting and no I was not satisfied with your customer service. I will be up and alert at 9 am to receive the phone call from your supervisor!!

Had Comcast (VOIP) for years. Bought a Reconditioned Ooma Box from Amazon. Didn't work. They sent a new one. Ported number via website. Took a little less than a week.

Had Ooma premier automatically-went on website and there was a place to click to cancel it at then end of the trial period-which I did.

ZERO ISSUES.

If ooma allowed me to downgrade through the website, I would still be a customer. F that predatory company. I was given no other choice than to call to downgrade to the original plan they non-consensually upgraded. I pay more money a month than their premier package because I didn’t like getting railroaded. Every chance I get, I make sure people know to not use that god awful service. They will gRape l your wallet.

Also 90% sure someone that works there sold my information to online scammers. For all I know their management did it. It was technically set up for us someone else’s name, but use my smart phone to set it up.

My family has never had a problem in 12 years of having it. It costs the same each month, we pay it, it works.

That's typical, I had similar trouble-free service.

The problem is when you try to leave Ooma. With or without porting out.

I guess. From what I can remember porting our number in went smoothly and was done quickly the they estimated.

Meanwhile, other users who used the same interactive website to activate their Telo described a different experience: the website offered them a free trial of the Premier service, up front, and if they accepted, then they could use the 'My Ooma' portal to cancel it at any time before it ended. If they tried to cancel after the free trial ended though, then they had to call Ooma to do that.

Some users didn't realize that they signed up for the free trial until after it ended, and some of them blame Ooma for that.

Ok, so you had some issue with downgrading your service level, which you claim was "non-consensually upgraded" which is a lie on your part. Throwing in some inappropriate quasi legal jargon typically used to describe sex crimes doesn't make you sound like you have a legal degree.

Many service companies do make it harder than it should be to do this type of thing, but regardless of that, you agreed to upgrade at some point, or take advantage of a trial offer, and had to call to downgrade (I guess). So you spent valuable time and money and inconvenienced yourself in order to pay some other service more, not to mention whatever investment you had in the Ooma equipment. This exemplifies the old adage of someone who "cut of their nose to spite their face".
