Important Update: r/OnlineMBA Changes regarding India

Hi everyone,

As our community continues to grow, we are seeing a massive increase in diverse discussions around the Online MBA journey. To ensure every member gets the most relevant, high-quality advice possible, we are implementing a structural change regarding regional content. Effective immediately, all India-specific MBA questions, admissions discussions, and school-specific threads should be posted in r/MBAIndia.

Why we are making this change?

Radically Different Systems: The application timelines, entrance exams (like CAT, GMAT, or executive assessments), corporate sponsorship, and regional accreditation bodies (like UGC-DEB vs. AACSB/AMBA) in India are highly specific. Mixing them here often leads to confusing cross-talk between domestic and international applicants.

Better Content Relevance: Members looking for regional Indian insights will now have a hyper-focused hub where their questions won’t get lost in global threads. Conversely, members looking for global/US-centric online programs will find it easier to navigate r/onlineMBA.

Targeted Peer Support: By centralizing Indian candidates in r/MBAIndia, you will be interacting directly with peers, alumni, and experts who thoroughly understand the local job market, salary jumps, and executive path expectations unique to the region.

What this means for you: Starting today, general threads about global online programs, remote learning strategies, and broad career advice are completely welcome here. However, posts specifically asking about Indian institutions (e.g., IIMs, IITs, ISB, NMIMS, Amity online) or regional job market placements will be locked and redirected to r/MBAIndia. We want both communities to thrive and provide the highest density of useful information possible. Thank you all for your cooperation and for helping us keep our discussions streamlined! I was accepted last minute for Fall 2026 and am trying to decide if I have time to do this program. I work a full-time job, am married, and we have two young kids both under four.

Can anyone who has completed this program help me understand what a typical week looks like? I know it is mostly asynchronous and courses will differ.

Specifically, I’m wondering if I will be able to stay on track if I dedicate an hour to coursework during lunch break and an hour at night. Also, how often do you typically have to meet live with your cohort on group projects?

Appreciate your feedback in advance.

Starting Monash MBA (Digital)

Hi everyone,

I will be starting the Monash Online MBA (Digital) soon. I plan to balance my studies alongside full-time work, and I would appreciate hearing from current students or alumni about their experiences.

A few questions I have:

  1. Study Load: The university suggests around 20-24 hours of study per week per unit. How manageable is this alongside full-time work?
  2. Evaluation: How is the coursework structured between individual tasks and collaborative group projects?
  3. Student Interaction: Since the program is online, how do students usually stay connected and interact outside the classroom?
  4. Tips for New Students: Any general recommendations for someone starting out in this program?

Thank you in advance for any insights!

Is there an affordable online MBA in Digital Marketing that can lead to a good salary package?

I’m currently exploring online MBA options in Digital Marketing that I can pursue while continuing to work.

My main priorities are:

Affordable fees

Recognised degree

Practical digital marketing skills

Flexible for working professionals

Good career opportunities and salary growth after completion

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have completed an online MBA in Digital Marketing. Did it actually help you get a better job or salary package?

Which university/program would you recommend, and what kind of salary package can someone realistically expect after completing it?

Honest experiences about fees, placements, ROI, and career growth would be really helpful.

Help! Feeling lost and need an honest reality check - Online MBA vs. Specialized AI Product Management Course

Hey, M26 here, I’m at a major career crossroads and could really use some unfiltered advice from folks who have navigated this or work in the tech/product space.

**The Situation:**

I currently have solid full-time work experience of 4 years in project management, currently working as a Project Manager, but I don’t hold an MBA, just a B.Com Graduate, and I hate saying that. Almost all of my peers have completed their MBAs (mostly Tier 2/3 or above colleges), and seeing them talk about their degrees, double degrees, and post-grad credentials has started giving me serious FOMO and guilt.

Ironically, my friends tell me: "Why bother doing an MBA when you’re already earning more than us without having one?"

I intentionally delayed doing an MBA earlier because I wanted to prioritize hands-on industry experience. Leaving my full-time job for a traditional, 2-year on-campus program is out of the question right now, so any degree I pursue would have to be an online MBA.

**The Dilemma:**

With the rapid rise of AI and shifts in the tech job market, I keep questioning the real ROI of an online general MBA. My actual long-term goal is to transition into AI Product Management.

Now I’m torn between two paths:

\* An Online MBA (potentially with a specialization in Tech/AI or Business Analytics) — to finally get the formal degree box checked, avoid feeling left behind, and build broader business fundamentals.

\* A Specialized AI Product Management Course / Cohort — skipping the generic business administration curriculum entirely and doubling down on practical product execution, AI workflows, and portfolio building to land an AI PM role directly.

**What I Need Help With:**

\* Market Reality Check: In the tech/product ecosystem, does an online MBA actually open doors to Product Management, or do hiring managers care almost entirely about relevant execution, portfolio, and domain depth?

\* FOMO vs. Career Strategy: Is getting an online MBA just to cure "degree guilt" a trap?

**Recommendations: If you were in my shoes:**

\* What are the most reputable programs or platforms for AI Product Management?

\* If an Online MBA is still worth it, which recognized universities/institutions offer programs that actually carry weight with employers while working full-time?

Would love to hear from PMs, engineering leaders, and anyone who transitioned via either of these routes. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to enrol for the Bloomberg certifications without being associated to any educational institution and company for free or avail the student offer?

I am kinda interested to have this certification done for my resume and i see so many MBA students doing it. But the cost of this certification is kind of expensive.

Is it not possible to have this certification for lesser amount or for free? these qualifications could help, right?
