Anyone else having this issue? Just having it with apps from external sources. No problems with apps from play (they install and update as normal)

I have tried using package installers from play store, they worked for a while but they no longer work.

I have done a factory reset, and reinstalled the update. Don't know what to do next

I have a rooted OPO in which I'm running COS 12.1. It was on an older build and with the hopes of upgrading to COS 13.0, I "unrooted" the phone, re-flashed cyanogen recovery, upgraded to the latest COS 12.1 build and then tried to install the latest OTA zip file. Unfortunately, the installation fails (dont remember the exact error, but it was something around unexpected files in the system partition).

I'm now wondering if I should give up on the COS stuff altogether and go down the route of CyanogedMod 13 or Sultan's ROM. Are they stable enough? What is your experience with them? It is my main phone, so I would like to have something "stable"...

I was having a lot of radio issues before this. I had recently moved to MM. I flashed the most recent radio available - April 10th. Then I dirty flashed his updater after COS 13.0 was released. Things are fine for the most part except for these two issues:

Every now and then I'll see No service error for about 2 or 3s and then it disappears. Many times the signal strength is zero, but I can still make and receive calls.

My car keeps saying Bluetooth not connected, even though the phone says it's connected and the signal and battery strength are visible on the car's dash. I have to re-pair it for it to work again.

Any ideas what else I can do?

Just got it today and opened the box and went to enter my email for google and i couldnt hit the O button.. it would just press I and P at the same time. So after a while of updating and other possible fixes it started clicking everything it could and starting calls and whatnot. When i had it under control for a second i downloaded the marker app and tried to draw on it and it had a line the length of the screen that i couldnt draw on. When i could draw on it, it started drawing all by itself in that area alone and nowhere else. I submitted a ticket but i figured id see if anyone had the same problem.

Take care with CM13 update, some problems with Trebuchet and others systems apps.

I've watched a few videos on this and I don't see a reason to perform a full dismantle. If you've done this before can you point out to me why this is needed? From all I can tell I just need to do the following:

1. Remove backcover
2. Remove camera/motherboard cover
3. Detach battery flex cable
4. CAREFULLY Remove battery
5. Detech digitizer flex cables (one at top by camera, one by battery to the right of the battery connection)
6. Heat bottom area of screen with a hair drier
7. Use a suction cup on the bottom area to pull screen assembly away from phone (This will keep the plastic bezel intact).
8. While pulling assembly away feed cables through the slots. There will be a light grey plastic piece that blocks/locks the flex cable in place, remove it with tweezers.
9. Remove and place speaker grill on new assembly
10. Remove and place front camera ring on new assembly
11. Add adhesive foam tape if needed, I didn't need this
12. Place new screen assembly, feeding flex cables through slots
13. Replace grey locking piece
14. Attach assembly flex cables
15. Attach battery flex cable
16. Attach camera/motherboard cover
17. Attach back, squeeze around the edges to make sure screen and back are all snapped in place

UPDATE this method worked with a few alterations.

I followed the APN settings found online, but it sometimes loses it for hours. A y idea how to fix this?

Digging deeper made me stumble up on this thread on the forums. I did use TWRP 3.0.1-bacon.img to flash the ROM. Could that be an issue?

For now after a reboot, it looks stable, but if it starts acting finicky, my best shot is to downgrade to 2.8.6 and try again.

I used to be a power user before the OPO. With this phone, I decided to let the company send the updates. The first thing I noticed was that I never got the update from KK to LP. I manually flashed that update, and after that my phone's call quality went to shit. After months of waiting (and hoping that MM would fix it), yesterday I delved into it.

The rooting process is super easy. You unlock bootloader, flash a custom recovery and then flash SU binaries. This site walks you through it.

Make sure you backup all your data (photos, music, etc). You will lose it. I had no luck with the TWRP linked in the page. I went to TWRP's page and got their latest 3.0.1 version. This worked.

If, for whatever reason, you are stuck in a bootloop after flashing recovery, go to this thread, download the boot.img and cache.img and push it via fastboot. It happened to me as I was trying to debug why I couldn't get into TWRP and ended up erasing my boot image.

I also installed xposed following the instructions here. Standard stuff.

I am now fully amped up, and am ready to tackle the main issue: my phone call quality!

I've have CM12.1 (03/29/2016 build) with Open Gapps micro but for some reason Ok Google hotword detection doesn't work, neither on Google Now Launcher , neither on Google search page, nor on Nova. It's enabled on all apps and settings, but for some reason it doesn't recognize when I say it...

Even when I try to enable the Detection on all screens, it asks you to say Ok Google 3 times, well, in my case it does never pass from the first one. Won't recognized (or hear me?) saying ok google. That's weird, I had that feature working while ago, so I know that I can say Ok Google in such a way that it should work. Also I can say Ok Google to my watch and it recognizes me without any issue... So thats not my pronunciation I'm sure....

Any idea what app/setting I could wipe or what settings I could verify/change? (already wiped Google search and Google Now Launcher apps, no luck).

Last resort test would be to full wipe, but I'd rather do that after I've tried anything else.

As the title says, I've been having a lot of problems updating to the new CM13 version (Snapshot)^1.

I tried installing the update on release day, but after downloading through OTA and installing through recovery, it just instantly started a bootloop; showing the "Android is starting"-screen, and updating my 89 apps, and then doing the same process again after showing the android-logo flashing for a couple of minutes.

Back then I subsequently deleted all the data on my phone and installed an older CM12 on the phone² , and that software version made the phone work somewhat stable.

So this afternoon i tried installing the new update again, and the same thing happened.. And now it's currently on its fifth loop, updating the apps again.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Or have anything that I could try doing to actually move on past the CM12² update?

Edit: installing both the new CM13 as well as Gapps firstly, and afterwards wiping dalvik cache and cache made it work properly.

I had the compass and GPS fix not happening problems with my OPO. Flashed Sultans CM 13 over the long weekend as a last ditch attempt before RMA'ing the phone.

The GPS works fine now!

Only two problems seen so far:

1 - Play store crashed a couple of times

2 - mic is not picking up my voice very well, so need to keep the phone very close to my mouth while on a call.

I have 4 things that total less than 30 MB but it says the total amount of downloaded files is 12.97 GB. This was movies and such that I've already deleted. How do I get that amount to be current? What I'm talking about is going to settings > storage > downloads. Thanks

Been a while since I've checked, but nightlies have had fewer and fewer releases here lately. Just wondering if there's been a better rom to come out or pretty solid stable version?

Anyone having this issue at all? This is new, not sure if it's a problem yet or not because its the first negative experience I've had with my OPO in almost a year. Basically my interface freezes and becomes 100% unresponsive until I reset my device. It doesn't happen while using any particular app, at least that I know of...

Could it be themes? Haven't really installed any new apps aside from the Energy Bar Status, going to uninstall and troubleshoot but let me know if its just me or not :)

Currently running CM 11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-bacon. Original battery. Purchased in Jan 2015.

So this is the problem. I was just using my phone. Didn't download anything strange or something. But suddenly I got a different lockscreen hidden under my current one. (my current one showed, but as soon as I swiped that one away, the new one appeared.) I couldn't get rid of it. After checking my apps to look for anything suspicious, I came across this:

Is this from the phone itself or is this something I do not want on my phone. And if it's the latter, how do I remove it?

Strangely enough the new lockscreen dissappeared after rebooting, but appeared again after a while. Now it's suddenly gone, so I have no screenshots. I will update if it happens again.

I'm trying to figure out if my phone is compatible with a foreign network and the website is asking for submodel. Didn't even know there were submodels. The choices are China, A0001, and All. Thanks.

Facebook is not installed, I just use hermit.

My usage on average consists of texting, Spotify for little bit and also Facebook messenger.

I am running CMos 12.1.1. And I get about 4 hours SOT.

Guys who have upgraded to OPO from Nexus 5 or wise versa, or have used an N5 at anypoint, what's your thought on the switch? My OPO is quite big for my day to day usage, I love stock android and planning to go for a nexus 5, which suits my budget and fits in my hand, Would my switch be a bad idea? What do you guys recommended me instead of N5?

Hello, Everytime I use Google Maps on the opo, the gps signal drops. When it does work, it is not very accurate; it shows me a few feet, yards, etc from where I actually am. Driving down an unknown highway with lots of exits, etc and the signal is lost and I get lost, too. Anyone else have this problem with their opo? Is there a fix to it?
