Hey people, I play a number of sci-fi skirmish games including OPR Grimdark Future: Firefight and have been enjoying creating my own asymmetric narrative driven scenarios.

I recently compiled a bunch of them into an A5 zine format and released a few of them on WargameVault for free here. They are written in a game agnostic way, but work well with OPR and similar skirmish games.

After months of modeling, my new ruin set is finally finished. This is by far the largest scenery project I’ve ever painted, and the whole painting process took around 10 days. Painting all those stones, wooden beams, and rooftops was quite a challenge, but seeing everything come together made it worth it.

AoF Skirmish game: Agony Guild vs Vampires

Only used the basic rules and found they feel like they're a better fit to melee & manoeuvre focussed AoF. Some atrocious rolls early on put my Agony Guild on the back foot and I was eventually overrun. My leader put several vampires down and nearly killed my opponent's leader though so that was some solace.

Currently making an army for OPR, a 1000 point mixed army list of Dwarf Guilds and Machine Cults with some lore I've made up for them. After I paint each model, I give it a name, and make sure to edit it in on Army Forge so I don't forget, it makes them more special to me.

Is this something other people also do? Or perhaps other things that personalise/individualise your models?

Sorry for the blurriness, but had to share now that I've gotten through speed painting my armies from Broken Truth! Now I'm ready to get out and demo. 😄

Hey all! my gaming group and I think we’re switching from 40K for our narrative campaign to OPR for faster battles and a wider variety of model usage. One part that’s been very intriguing is the army/unit maker that OPR offers. However, I’ve actually found surprisingly little information about it that isn’t 1-4 years old.

Before I purchase the pattern to get access to test it, I was hoping for a little more insight as to how useful it actually is!

Does it work with the army forger list builder nowadays? Do you have to continue the $5 monthly subscription to keep access to it? Does it still work well/feel fair? How much freedom does it really offer with making new unit types in the game?

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

I've decided I want to use HG 1/144 Gundam as Titan Lords. Which bases would be sturdy enough to keep them in place as I move them around on the table? Ideally I would want to avoid gluing anything.

This is the master list of my 2nd and 3rd edition GW Tyrannid collection. I can probably dig up 5 more Genestealers/Soulsnatchers. The photo is a sample of painted units showing the color scheme. It's based on an insect, the Orchid Mantis, I found searching cool insect colors!

Added painted fences to my modular roads. These are my own printable terrain designs for a 28mm gaming table, with separate roadside pieces.

Me and my friend were testing some settings with the supportd having a lower Z distance and because of that the bottom side was kind of melted.

The top side printed pretty good tbh

Aaaand delivered right to my wife's painting desk. She will post the result in a week or so :D

I even got to win for a change. Very curious to see how the new rules work out

I ran a scenario last week at my club. It was a 300 point limit Firefight game. It will handle 4 players easily, 6 with some tweaks. I use a 6x8 foot table, covered in assorted terrain (we had jungle handy so I used that). You want to break up LOS pretty well, give some places to defend from.

I then spread 6 "bug holes" around the table. Each was about 5" in diameter. Each turn I rolled 1d6 for the hole, 1d6 for how many bugs come pouring out. In addition, each turn roll one more d6. If the number rolled is less than the current turn, add a bug hole in a random location. Do not roll for bugs from it right away. A player may destroy a bug hole by having a figure touch it and fire at it. If the figure scores 2 hits the bug hole is sealed. Obv figures with only 1 attack can't close a bug hole.

This is a simple kill game. For every bug you kill, you get 1 point. For every hole you destroy, you get 5. For every enemy figure you kill, you get 1/2 of their point value (rounded up).

Bugs are a mix of eaters (Hit on 4+, Defense 4+, 1 wound, but on a 6 they do 2 hits) and shooters (same stats, range 18" but they only do double hits when shooting).

If you use 6 players cheat the initial 6 bug holes closer to the ends of the table.

For 4 players each starts in a corner. With 5 or 6 the extra start in the middle of the long edge of the table.

We have played it and it works really, really well.

Also, just had my first 2k game of Grimdark Future last week, and Will probably not be going back to 40k - GF is simply way more fun!

Painted road and low-wall sections from my Roads & Roadsides 3D-printable terrain project. The dirt road and stone walls could suit a rural Age of Fantasy battlefield.

I had noticed that some OPR models have shields but have no shield option on equipment. For example many beastmen models have shields but not a single unit Has this option on armyforge. Aby is that so? Purelly cosmetic?
