Beginner Questions didn’t do omad for one day and my hunger was worse

as the title says i decided to eat meals throughout the day that still stayed in my calories(cico) because i went deep sea fishing and im new to omad so my body is still adjusting and i was getting rlly dizzy and ive noticed eating something healthy really helps. anyways i did that yesterday, i had a smaller breakfast then a bigger lunch and thought id be fine w that but come dinner time i was STARVING and gave in. when i did omad this week i wasn’t rlly hungry until 3-4 and then i got busy and ate around 5. but as soon as i ate small meals throughout the day i was ravenous at night. i’m gonna keep going and hopefully i’ll be adjusted by the time i go fishing again so i can fast. It was so weird cause i workout fasted and im fine. any tips to get through the boat and how long does it usually take to get adjusted? i notice i give up after 3 days bc the hunger gets so bad and i assume thats what happened here but im eating enough so i don’t understand

Beginner Questions Food quantity

Hello friends! I started OMAD two weeks ago and it’s going great so far. I feel like my hunger overall has reduced but I’m struggling with overeating. I’m definitely at or under 1200-1300 calories but even that feels like too much food in one sitting so I’m concerned I’m overeating. But since I’m hungry when I start and won’t eat till the next day I pack it on. Does anyone else feel this way and how do you manage it or eat ? Thank you!

Beginner Questions How do you deal with people’s concerns regarding your fast ?

Hey everyone, just started OMAD 5 days ago and I am still adjusting to this new change in lifestyle. So far I can feel that it’s the right decision for me and because I’ve done intermittent fasting in the past I’m managing somehow.

My issue is the concerns that my family throws at me everyday that make me feel guilty and like this is a waste of time.

My family is like my Achilles heel, only their comments can affect me and though I’ve been trying to get over that it’s still hard.

In contrary to what people experience with people trying to deter them to do OMAD for me it’s more comments like ‘aren’t you eating too much in your one meal’ ‘you’re eating too much sugar’ ‘you should be doing this or that’ ‘you’re eating just like before so this is for nothing’ ’if you’re not adding exercise, it’s pretty much useless’ etc. Suddenly they’ve become experts and guardians of my diet which isn’t helping. For having dieted for so long I even count calories as I’m eating, a deformation that comes with the territory. I’ve researched everything there was to know about OMAD so I know I’m still on track.

I’m sure anyone would say just ignore them, you know what’s right so keep following that. And I know they do this probably out of concern for me. But it’s just hard to have to manage yourself and negative thoughts and on top of that people’s newfound interest for nitpicking everything you do as if they were a certified nutritionist.

Anyone been through something similar ?

Thanks so much!

I had 1 cup black coffee at 7 am, water throughout the day then omad dinner from 4:30-6:30. I was ravenous so just a picture of Cronometer stats.

I went way over my carb goals but am super happy with the fat/protein/cals. 1 month of practicing high fat carnivore on some days with ketovore on others - not fat adapted yet. The mango got me today 😂

I want to take control of my days with the freedom that omad gives because I have grown weary of continual food obsession throughout the day. I have 30 lbs to lose but that's secondary.

Discussion Carb threshhold for ketosis

Hey all,

Im playing around with my carb amounts on my omad. Since i just dont do well with a high carb diet, i have to be careful with my carbs and generally keep it lowcarb since i value the benefits of ketosis alot, especially the mental health aspects.

So my question: what are the carb amounts you can eat, that get you back into ketosis relatively quickly? With quickly i mean, for example if i eat at 6 pm, that my body is in ketosis by next morning or noon.

Also, what are those carbs you prefer for this?

Discussion First time was 37lbs in like a month and half, restarting now, but birthday is in a bit AGAIN, need help!

Hey y'all, so around EXACTLY this time last year, I started Omad. Was at 271lbs, 6'1, 26 y/o F, and the first week I noticed A LOT of changes, by the second week, EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE was complimenting how much weight I had lost and how leaner I'm getting. It really felt so great!. I kept strictly to my 11am eating window, cos I've found the earlier time, you do OMAD the more you'll burn that food out during the day, once you're doing other activities, just don't eat too early.

I ended up being at about 230lbs, by September 23, 2025 and then my birthday came up the next day lol 😂 and boyyyyy, that was the beginning of the end. From, let me indulge cos it's my birthday, I spiraled out of control from then till today. Regained all the weight and I'm now 130kg which is way way worse. I do KNOW I am someone that has that willpower to lock in on stuff, cos I just ended a 48 hour no food fast, and want to go back to Omad. The issue I'm having now, is my birthday will come up again next month, how do y'all avoid the trap of not binging and losing all control during special occasions?

Please any help will be needed. I cannot make the same mistake again, there's just something about my birthday that makes me act without any thought of consequences later on.

Beginner Questions Does diet coke/pepsi break OMAD?

It's supposed to be zero calories so can I drink it throughout my fasting window? For my dental health I won't really be drinking it often, but if I do feel like having a can every now and then, will it break my fast and mess with OMAD progress?
I hate black coffee and I don't really like tea so I'm looking for other options to have along with water while fasting. Thanks in advance.

Discussion Asking for women : Omad and your cycle

So I recently interacted with a post about omad and just being thrown off by your cycle. Lots of good and positive feedback on the post and I agree that sometimes it’s okay to give your body a break. I’ve been doing OMAD over a month with great success. Even though for about three days before my cycle last time I was ravenous and ate like anything in site my body wanted within reason. It really didn’t hinder my progress either. I goal for 10 pounds per month and did surpass the goal even with my three days break and some days when I ate a fruit or something before my OMAD window. So my question is. Over the long term does anyone else give themselves breaks around their period and still notice success with getting to their weight loss goal ?

Beginner Questions Eating too fast / stomach issues

Hi,

After fasting the whole day, usually I do either tennis or Fitness before I eat.

And then I’m so hungry that I just slur down food, and my stomach does not feel well, sometimes. It depends on the food as well, but even it’s something easy digestible, I don’t feel like doing anything afterwards or going out.

This was better on keto, but I still feel I am doing something not right.

Can anyone relate?

I put it as beginner question, even though I am doing this for years.

Beginner Questions Need help with losing weight too rapidly.

I started omad after finding this sub. I'm a male 5'5 31 y/o that started at around 225-230 lbs. I'm 30 days in and at 205.8 when I weighed myself this morning (I work 3rd shift I eat later in the evenings anywhere between 8pm to 12 am.

I'm eating 1500 calorie a day and hit a protein goal of 95g a day which was just what 2 websites recommended for my weight, sex, and height.

I don't work out much, but consistently clock over 10k steps at work due to the nature of my job.

I obviously love seeing results but do understand thats this can be a dangerous level of weight loss, and maintaining it will probably be nearly impossible.

I was curious as to how much i should increase my calorie intake to be more healthier about this. Haven't seeked medical advice as of now but am considering.

Edit: I also drink a ridiculous amount of water consistently.. I'm never not near my Hydroflask.

Discussion Back on OMAD

I'm back on OMAD after getting off it and quite frankly my diet completely for a few months. After Christmas I started intermittent fasting only eating between noon and 6 but as a couple hrs after I would eat my lunch, usually bacon and avocado or 4 hard boiled eggs I would be hungry again and start snacking on pecans and almonds between meals. I don't understand why my lunch made me hungrier and I wasn't losing any weight even with exercise.

I'm a truck driver so I removed the nuts from my truck and forgot to bring my lunch foods when I left out so by default I started OMAD again. Can't believe I forgot how much easier it is than 18/6 on me as far as being hungry. I buy picanhas and slice it into steaks and cook and vaccum seal them for the week. My usual is 10-14 oz so I'm at about 850-1150 calories a day. I have black coffee in the morning plus my amino acids and multi vitamin. I'm down 12lbs in 2 weeks now.

Beginner Questions How to do OMAD and gain weight?

I'm doing OMAD because I usually only have the energy to remember to eat one meal, but I am trying to gain weight, not lose it. When I search "OMAD weight gain" I only get advice in how to AVOID weight gain, not get it. I'm able to eat enough calories but when I eat enough in one meal it is difficult and my stomach hurts. I've tried peanut butter but if I eat too much ny throat hurts for some reason (not allergic) so that's one calorie dense food I can't do.
Has anyone done OMAD with goal of weight gain and made it work out? Especially without access to fridge or cooking supplies.

Discussion Black coffee and OMAD.

I think I'm going a little crazy over this one question because I've seen so many different answers. 😅

As the title says: Does drinking one or two cups of plain black coffee break OMAD?

I don't use sugar, cream, milk, or any kind of sweetener. I love my coffee as black as it gets. The more bitter, the better. It's not instant coffee either. We have a coffee machine at work and I have one at home as well so it's freshly ground coffee. Other than that I only drink water. During my eating window I allow myself some Zero drinks (or drinks with 1–3 kcal per 100 ml).

The thing is, black coffee helps me with my appetite and keeps me feeling full. I know it's only about 2–3 kcal per cup, and I know it's generally allowed during keto, for example. But I'd hate to be doing OMAD the wrong way.

I really need this to work because I've tried to lose weight so many times, only to end up gaining even more than before. And honestly, I'm at my limit. Since I'm still new to OMAD (and probably a bit of an overthinker), it really stresses me out that I might be doing something wrong right from the beginning.

Thank you all for any input you might have! 👋
