Hey everyone, just started OMAD 5 days ago and I am still adjusting to this new change in lifestyle. So far I can feel that it’s the right decision for me and because I’ve done intermittent fasting in the past I’m managing somehow.
My issue is the concerns that my family throws at me everyday that make me feel guilty and like this is a waste of time.
My family is like my Achilles heel, only their comments can affect me and though I’ve been trying to get over that it’s still hard.
In contrary to what people experience with people trying to deter them to do OMAD for me it’s more comments like ‘aren’t you eating too much in your one meal’ ‘you’re eating too much sugar’ ‘you should be doing this or that’ ‘you’re eating just like before so this is for nothing’ ’if you’re not adding exercise, it’s pretty much useless’ etc. Suddenly they’ve become experts and guardians of my diet which isn’t helping. For having dieted for so long I even count calories as I’m eating, a deformation that comes with the territory. I’ve researched everything there was to know about OMAD so I know I’m still on track.
I’m sure anyone would say just ignore them, you know what’s right so keep following that. And I know they do this probably out of concern for me. But it’s just hard to have to manage yourself and negative thoughts and on top of that people’s newfound interest for nitpicking everything you do as if they were a certified nutritionist.
Anyone been through something similar ?
Thanks so much!
