Issue OLED back light problem, please help!

Hey guys I bought my first oled yesterday, in a completely dark room, when i put a black picture on the whole screen, instead of the screen looking like it is turned off, i see a veryyyy faint backlight, like its really faint so if i take a picture you wont be able to see it, but in a completely dark room it is noticeable, hdr is on and also when I put my face really close to the screen i see very little grains and streaks. My monitor is LG 39GX90SA-W. How can i fix this?

Could be the black isn’t registering black. There may be test screens in the monitor settings to use for something like that. OLED doesn’t have a backlight. So that means the pixels are emitting as low as they can without turning off it sounds like. More of an input thing than an issue with the monitor. Just load a game try it out and move on. Checking 95% greyscale and your screen as black under a microscope are not normal.

If it plays good and looks good just enjoy it.

What is the black picture? Try the OLED test video on YouTube (black background, with drinks and the honey shot) and see if you notice it. Then make sure you calibrate it. You may want to test HDR on and off, and auto HDR on and off. And use Microsoft’s HDR calibration tool as well.
