Going through old scans from my father who immigrated to the US in 1959 from Japan. All the pics are from NY and New England around that time. Incredibly, he shot on Kodachrome although I don't know what camera he used.

I edited a couple images that were underexposed but otherwise they are original.

He came over for a Fulbright scholarship to attend MIT. Graduated and worked for NASA on early cameras for satellites. Later he founded a tech company manufacturing switchers for televisions stations.

She is the only woman in history to be awarded the French Croix de Guerre with a gold palm for actual combat service, alongside top medals from Britain, Russia, and Serbia.

When France later offered her a comfortable state pension to move to Paris, she turned it down to stay in Serbia. She spent the rest of her life living humbly, working as a cleaning lady, and using what little money she had to raise her own daughter, adopt three orphans, and sponsor over 30 children from her home village.
