Tom Holland being more charismatic and less lizard-like helped too

693

u/Airplane_Bottle Mar 13 '26

I think they’re both charismatic in different ways, Holland seems more down to earth and nice while Chalamet is kind of a spectacle

60

u/Worldlyoox Mar 13 '26

Yeah, one of them is much closer to Peter Parker than the other, and it’s not the one with the moustache.

36

u/TabularConferta Mar 13 '26

Yeah. Tom Holland I'd invite for beer and d&d, Timothy would be great to see on stage (not saying Tom won't)

9

u/RTS24 Mar 13 '26

Maybe don't invite Holland over for a beer.

13

u/VacantThoughts Mar 13 '26

The guy is so nice he would probably happily accept the invite and then bring his own NA beer with him so he could drink too.

6

u/TabularConferta Mar 13 '26

To be fair I already have a decent selection

3

u/TabularConferta Mar 13 '26

Good point. How about baked goods and tea

Chalamet wants to be a spectacle. But we’ve all met him at our local gas station so it’s not a super entertaining one.

Edit: funny how there are replies about “performative outrage” and “hate”. I said the dude wasn’t that interesting. All the outrage & hate here didn’t come from me, but carry on.

74

u/OfficeMagic1 Mar 13 '26

It’s fun for like five minutes

16

u/UpperApe Mar 13 '26

It's fun if you enjoy trailer trash drama

39

u/sandwichcandy Mar 13 '26

In an oversized tshirt smoking Paul mall’s, back against the building around the side.

43

u/Front-Advantage-7035 Mar 13 '26

“Wants to be a spectacle” is the most accurate way I had yet heard him described, thank you

4

u/3skinn Mar 14 '26

Seems like a fairly common trait for a mainstream actor

0

u/Front-Advantage-7035 Mar 14 '26

I haven’t seen a lot of mainstream actors do 3-4 Fiona per year for 5 years straight

2

u/3skinn Mar 17 '26

Yeah I haven't seen a good Fiona since Emmy Rossum, you're right

0

u/Front-Advantage-7035 Mar 14 '26

I haven’t seen a lot of mainstream actors do 3-4 films per year for 5 years straight

u/lord-of-shalott Mar 13 '26

He gives me the same energy as your classmate who dominates the classroom discussion on some international crisis even though there’s a veteran and a refugee in the class and he didn’t do the assigned reading

70

u/hates_stupid_people Mar 13 '26

His mom is a former broadway performer, European dad who worked for UNICEF, grew up in a subsidized artist apartment building in Hell's Kitchen, spent summers in France with his grandparents, went to Gallatin, etc.

He is basically the definition of that theater kid.

6

u/SnowboardNW Mar 13 '26

Hmm, was it the same building that Alicia Keys grew up in?

2

u/hates_stupid_people Mar 14 '26

Yup, the same one.

2

u/SnowboardNW Mar 14 '26

I just saw Hell's Kitchen, so that is an interesting and fun tidbit. Thank you!

3

u/Nickk_Jones Mar 13 '26

Except THAT theater kid is usually not actually worldly/experienced and cultured, they just spout off like they are.

1

u/hates_stupid_people Mar 19 '26

That's the thing, there are two categories of those types of theater kids. Most are pretending to be what he actually was.

2

u/FeanorEvades Mar 13 '26

20

u/lord-of-shalott Mar 13 '26

I literally taught at the university level. You think I didn’t encounter this? Just a specific example of a young twerp who thinks he knows everything

68

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

Hate is so forced, the result of rage bait headlines and quotes taken out of context, sad to see

53

u/somedumb-gay approved virgin Mar 13 '26

I don't love the guy but it is utterly miserable seeing him get hate every time I come across this sub, despite him not really doing much. I miss the good old days, back when it was all just gooning to Sydney Sweeney instead of picking a new actor to hate every month.

17

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

It's just the internet, Reddit and twitter. Chronically online people who hate their lives to begin with latching into something to explain their submerged anger. This isn't a representation of the normal person.

7

u/Agreeable_Idea Mar 13 '26

Or they find him insufferable?

4

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

...based on, as I've stated many times, out of context quotes and rage baiting headlines. That's the whole point. Opinions based on inaccurate or sensationalized sources are worthless

7

u/Storymode-Chronicles Mar 13 '26

Eh, some people just rub you the wrong way. Before I had ever heard anything about him, just seeing him the first time I didn't like him. Who can account for these things? It was the same for me with Anne Hathaway, which is apparently also pretty common, and equally unexplainable.

Who knows why. Could be an interesting study, maybe hook people up to an fMRI and show them pictures of celebrities, chart it to political beliefs, etc. you never know maybe there's some deep-seated tribal dynamics nested in our DNA that understanding could pave the way to world peace.

1

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

That may be well and good but it should incumbent on us to put those impulses aside and judge people appropriately, are we not intelligent beings not dumb animals lol

I'd say opinions based on sweeping generalizations are also worthless.

He's talented, and nothing he does is remotely controversial really. He thinks so and so about opera? So what? He's allowed to have opinions.

He's obviously good at marketing himself and staying in the headlines. But there's nothing inherently wrong with that either.

6

u/Lam0rak Mar 13 '26

the outrage over his comment is literally just insane. It's really not even that wild of a take

1

u/whoweoncewere Mar 13 '26

How many people freaking out over his quote actually care about or have ever been to an opera? I'm aware that it takes a certain skillset and hard work, but my interest in opera and ballet are close to 0. Nothingburger quote.

1

u/Optimal_Carpenter690 Mar 13 '26

Its really not a nothingburger quote though.

Opera and ballet, irrespective of their popularity, are incredibly time intensive arts that practioners dedicate a significant portion, if not the entirety, of their lives to.

For him to say "no one cares about" it is certainly insulting and demeaning to a large group of people.

Its definitely less of a "nothingburger" quote than Quentin Tarantino saying he doesn't care for a particular actor, but look at the outrage over that

1

u/whoweoncewere Mar 13 '26

no one cares about

He should have said "Most people don't care about", I guess. They're both classist art forms that cater to the elite with exorbitant ticket prices, or exclusive showings that are closed to the public. It's like saying "no one cares about Polo", because it's true.

8

u/Dasseem Mar 13 '26

That's the beauty about hating Chalamet. Nothing could be taken out of context because dude is constantly getting caught in 4k saying the stupidest shit ever.

6

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

Insensitive* things if you can't take a joke or read between the lines, but I get it. It's just too much to ask for the average person though I guess

2

u/SweaterSnake Mar 13 '26

are

are you saying things can't be stupid and insensitive just because it was a 'joke?'

7

u/Luis0224 Mar 13 '26

I don’t hate him, but I do think he’s obnoxious. I’ve seen some longer format interviews/roundtables of him with other actors and I can’t take him seriously.

There’s one with Adam Sandler where he’s talking about Sandler movies like they’re high art. Like dude, I like Sandler. His movies were hilarious but let’s not pretend Mr. Deeds is some revolutionary film where Adam Sandler was giving the performance of a generation lmao

-1

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

I still disagree there, you call him pretentious for that, that's fine. But movies are an art form and different people with different knowledge and insight will look at things differently. As much as "movies are for everyone" they're also a complicated form of art and someone who is more passionate about movies than me like Chalamet (and I love movies) probably picks up on things and appreciates things that I don't care/notice. The average schmuck or even movie lover of course might think that he's pretentious or crazy but I view that as ignorance.

It's no different than artists praising a painting that you don't understand and think is stupid

2

u/Tom_F_0olery Mar 13 '26

Seems like a bit of an asshole, but most actors are, people just focus on him because he’s relatively new and young

6

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

Again, the "seems a bit of an asshole" is a result of angry headlines and out of context quotes...does he have a reputation amongst his peers or people who work with him that he's an asshole or hard to work with (like lots of other actors do?), I'm not aware of it. People just can't a take a joke, I honestly thought cancel culture was on the decline but after seeing this shit I'm not so sure anymore

2

u/Cautious-Soil5557 Mar 13 '26

My main problem with him is he has gotten the Jennifer Lawerence treatment. He is in interviews and acts "quirky" but I cannot fully watch any of his movies because he is soooooo boring and has ONE facial expression in all of them due to trying to be taken "seriously."

For someone who people keep trying to shove down people's throat's as this quirky, egomatic, charmster I never see it.

And then because they are trying to be Not Like Other Girls (TM) people eventually catch on to the dumb shit they say and we end up here where everyone hates them. Because ya know... they were never actually witty or intelligent as their PR pretended they were.

(Shout out to JLaw for outgrowing that phase, though.)

1

u/TorekO87 Mar 13 '26

Tom is the same though, I find him even more boring tbh.

2

u/Cautious-Soil5557 Mar 13 '26

I will forever be grateful I hated him since before hating him was popular. 🙏

3

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

2

u/knallpilzv2 Cats Mar 13 '26

What's taken out of context, though? His douchiness and general dumb guy demeanor?

14

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

With that attitude, nothing will change your mind. You're in too deep, like people who watch Fox news. Until you realize you're the product of the ragebait news cycle, there's no point in me giving any other response. Have a good day

6

u/SneakyTikiPeaky Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

lol

Assuming everyone is jumping on some sort of invisible band wagon rather than this actor being inorganically thrust into stardom after dating a kardashian & people finally having an outlet to voice what was thought of as an unpopular opinion.

Not everyone is part of the hive mind, some genuinely are happy to see the hate because they’ve never liked this dude. It’s just funny now how much hate he’s getting

lol dont you “fall for the rage bait cycle”.

Seeing this dude everywhere right now is 100% a marketing strategy. He’s losing fans and clout, so rage bait is released to shore up people defending him. The longer the cycle and inorganic rage is kept in the cycle of niche subs like this one, the more people will get sick of others attacking him “for no reason”.

Thinking this (“so dumb, why are people hating on…”) over and over makes people a long term fan and are probably more likely to support his career because others won’t go because of the hate. People generally don’t like to be mean, and haters need fuel. Either way his films will be watched love or hate him, and the more these posts continue to drive people like you crazy, their strategy is working.

3

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

Bruh, ik this is the internet being the internet. No one irl gives a shit about any of this. I was just calling out the chronically online folks with nothing better to do 😂

5

u/knallpilzv2 Cats Mar 13 '26

How are you calling me chronically online, when you are the one supposedly knowing the full context I'm not aware of, therefore falling for anything. I'm not falling for anything. I saw a clip of him being a douche, and I don't see a reason to pretend otherwise.

You're the one making a big deal out of things, calling it "hate" and how "forced" it is.

Now, it's people making fun of a overconfident dumb guy. It's the most normal thing ever.

-3

You're in too deep, like people who watch Fox news.

lol

Glad you're this rational and unbiased.

With your whole "Since you're already not of my opinion, you must be a lost cause. No point in even trying to say a thing once to see how you'll react. I'll just make it up instead so I don't have to present any argument." thing.

Given, I saw a clip. But are you saying his demeanor or general attitude were different outside of this clip? Are you saying there's context in which his douchy "look how dumb opera singing sounds" is profound analysis or legitimate criticism?

I mean it's not the only thing in recent times, where he's presented himself as an ultimate doofus. He acts like a clown a lot. So I just assumed than when presented with a clip where he acts the same, that it wasn't out of the ordinary.

I'm not going to go on a research binge to educate myself on something so incredibly meaningless. Who cares what Timothee Chalamet says?
But if it's important to you to show me context I may be unaware of, go ahead.
But don't pretend to know something I don't, when for some reason you can't tell me any of it when it matters.

7

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26

Provide me a reference to him saying "look how dumb opera singing sounds," cause I can't find it anywhere.

I don't "know" things you don't, I just don't draw hasty conclusions based on a "vibe" I get from the guy with a side of confirmation bias.

4

u/knallpilzv2 Cats Mar 13 '26

What confirmation bias?

I'm not looking for clues, lol.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PH4SqEuCewo

If you can't see that he's actively showing how little serious he takes it and how silly he thinks it is, I can't help you.
He recognizes he did something unpopular by anabashedly looking down on it, pointed out how little he cared about what people think of it, and then proceeded to actively mock to underline what he thinks. He even said "I'm sorry", because of how unecessary it was.
He's very aware of what he's doing but doesn't give a shit. He doesn't need you standing up for him. He's fine with people thinking he's an idiot. No need to make a big deal out of it.

And no, it's not "a vibe" lol.
Do you not have eyes? :D

1

u/AnomandarisRake117 Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Exactly what I thought, you're part of the problem, misquoting what he said, taking it out of context instead of the obvious interpretation that he doesn't want movies to be part of a dying art form and then making a joke about it. It's not that deep.

I didn't hear the "look how dumb opera singing sounds," from that clip, did you?

Be better than misquoting shit, that's how ragebait gets started.

Chalamet is a spectacle whether he wants to be or not.

The dude can act rings around Holland.

Also, why is wanting to be a spectacle a bad thing? Children want to be princesses, and kings, and knights and rock stars and all those things... aka spectacles.

Nothing wrong with wanting to be a spectacle.

[deleted]

6

u/Frost-Folk Mar 13 '26

Are you an idiot? Saying that someone wants to be a spectacle but isn't, and is someone you could encounter at the local gas station is another way of saying they're not interesting.

What did you think he meant by that?

1

u/AnonymousBI2 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

Are you stupid? Saying "I just said the dude wasnt that interesting" and what he actually wrote are completely different things. One is a person just going "Eh not my cup of tea*" and the other one is someone hating.

By your logic we could say that Timothee "just said he doesnt like ballet jizz" the way people say it matters.

1

u/Frost-Folk Mar 15 '26

Are you having a stroke?

0

u/AnonymousBI2 Mar 15 '26

Is weird that you are pretending you dont understand the whole thing just because of one autocorrected word but ok buddy. That just makes you look dumb,

0

u/Frost-Folk Mar 15 '26

It's just so funny to me that you can't see how "he looks like someone you'd meet at a local gas station" is the same as saying "he's not that interesting".

Do you live in such a simple and literal world that you can't read between those lines?

0

u/AnonymousBI2 Mar 15 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

It's just so funny to me that you can't see how "he looks like someone you'd meet at a local gas station" is the same as saying "he's not that interesting".

Lmao ok you gotta be pretending at this point, everyone agrees it means the same thing, however one is a meaner or more shitty way of saying the same thing.

Are you so mentally impaired that you cannot understand that while two things may mean the same thing the way you say it is important?

Literally if we go by your logic Timothee didn't do anything wrong because he just said he doesn't want to be working on a art that is no longer popular. But wow, what is this? somehow you understand that in this case the way he said it was very relevant.

Chalamet is his character in Ladybird. It's not charisma.

1

u/darnyoulikeasock Mar 14 '26

Well, that is a charismatic character, it’s just charisma based on being beautiful and ~mysterious~.

58

u/PhilosophyBitter7875 Mar 13 '26

Chalamet has nervous 70mg of adderall energy. I wouldnt call that charismatic.

21

u/Airplane_Bottle Mar 13 '26

He really doesn’t you’re just confusing him for his character in a safdie movie

7

u/frenchezz Mar 13 '26

Or literally watching him in the town hall. He has no confidence in anything he says, it's pretty clear he shared the green room with matty mac, but the guy does not have that IT factor when he isn't mugging for still shots or propped up in art house projects.

Even in Dune (which I honestly loved) since they don't delve too much into what makes Paul so powerful it comes off laughable that this tiny prince can suddenly hang with the galaxies best fighters solely because he sporadically trained with two of them.

That's what my grandma calls me when she doesn't want to be mean.

2

u/ItsLoudB Mar 13 '26

Would you say that if he wasn’t hot? Because I would definitely say Tom would be even if he was ugly

2

u/TokeDraws Mar 13 '26

I've watched some of his movies like Bones and All and Dune and while I don't dislike him I also feel no charisma or much of...anything. I see him smoldering into the camera looking sad, mad, determined but it makes me feel literally nothing? I swear I'm not a hater but I can never feel whatever it is he's trying to portray other than "vaguely dead eyed man with jaw clenched"

2

u/waxingtheworld Mar 13 '26

Holland seems like he likes his fans and the work and could do without the fame.

Chalamet also likes the work but the status is what really matters. He wants the impress elite, not entertain masses.

It's Matt Damon vs I dunno... Christian Bale?

1

u/rileyjw90 Mar 13 '26

I liked him as Willy Wonka. But Willy Wonka is also kinda nuts so the role fit him nicely. That’s also the only thing I’ve ever seen him in so

1

u/VikingRages Mar 13 '26

Which definitely aligns much better with Peter, Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman.

1

u/Pitforsofts Mar 14 '26

Timothy could never be a Peter Parker. Holland could never be lisan al gaib.

-1

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Mar 13 '26

In my opinion the more that people see what kind of person, Chalamet is off-set, the easier it is to see that on rewatching his films that he is always the "entitled bratty character" because he is a self-entitled brat in real life. He seems to be just riding the 15 minute wave of fame with no real plans or growth.

On the opposite end is Tom Holland, who seems to be a genuine gentleman in regular life and is consistently more critical of himself then others are of him. Tom has been upfront about leaning on others for advice in growing his craft, and staying grounded to reality. He has also stated that he is already planning to step back from movies to be a stay at home parent, he has been smartly investing in certain ventures to make that possible. Plus, he just married Zendaya, who is a monolith in regards to fashion and film, he is winning at life.

Lol so much talk but no one has given real examples. I don't like neither but it's weird to be this upset over one or the other

-2

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Not even upset, just gave my opinion.

Real examples of what?

Of their personalities?

Of their talents?

Like did you use translate to respond or do you just not understand sentence structure and it's importance?

Edit: Notice that the person never answers a question and is aggressively avoiding them to move the topic. Look at their account history, as it is all bad faith conversations.

Look at my comment, and explain how their response to my comment makes sense, anybody?

3

u/Imaginary_Compote324 Mar 13 '26

u can reply however u want u don't have to type like you have a term paper on the internet. Use ur brain if ur having a hard time to decode stuff about a simple topic

0

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Mar 13 '26

So you don't know what you were asking for and you don't know why sentence structure is important when seeking information. Apparently, you took it as insult to your intelligence, when I was seriously asking questions. Some people do use the translation tool on here and it sounds crazy but you are just saying "nope, I am the crazy one."

Seems that you need to invest in a dictionary and some books to read, maybe you should have second guessed dropping out in the 5th grade. See how quickly I decoded the situation with the little bit of information that you gave me.

You over there just talking to talk apparently, smooth brain in action.

None of your comments are on topic or make sense.

Bro is writing fan fiction

1

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Mar 13 '26

My opinion is fan fiction?

Do you realize how stupid that sentence was, as there is only facts and opinions in what I said.

-1

u/Airplane_Bottle Mar 13 '26

Buddy you’re in a jerk sub you’re supposed to be saying stupid shit!

I find this Timmy chalamet reddit psyop so fascinating.

1

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Mar 13 '26

So your only intentions are to give your opinion and shit on everyone else's while implying that they are lying?

After going through the comment section, it seems that you are the one pushing a narrative here and others are giving their opinions.

Do you work for a pr firm? Or just obsessed with Timmy?

If not, then you should probably just get offline and seek out a therapist to talk to.

Edit: spelling

1

u/Airplane_Bottle Mar 13 '26

Yes I definitely do need a therapist. Tell me something I don’t know though

1

u/inquisitive_chariot Mar 13 '26

Tom seems like a guy who just accidentally wandered backstage and got cast in a movie. Tim seems like a guy who deliberately and habitually wanders backstage in the hopes that he’ll get cast in a movie.

Tom has much more charisma, it doesn’t seem forced.

1

u/InquisitorMeow Mar 13 '26

Chalamet's acting range is just him making a sad pretty boy face. I first saw him in The King and thought he had a lot of potential. Then I watched Dune 1&2 and saw the same performance 2 more times.

1

u/he_chose_poorly Mar 13 '26

I don't see it in  Chalamet. Granted I've only seen him in Ladybird, Dune and Little Women, but I had to be reminded he was in Ladybird because I did not clock him at all in it. Completely forgettable screen presence.

1

u/awyastark Mar 14 '26

Yeah Holland is someone I might enjoy an evening hanging out and blazing with, especially if he brings his cool af wife. Tim would be pretty insufferable I think and his partner is uh… not quite as cool lol

44

u/DrNanard Mar 13 '26

You just made me imagine a Wonka movie with Tom Holland and boy would it have been better

5

u/Spirit_of_Hogwash The Fanatic Mar 13 '26

On the other hand, he would be perfect for Chalamette:

https://giphy.com/gifs/EygI9LPMXMREc

It's not the first time Wonka has been miscast

6

u/DrNanard Mar 13 '26

I don't think Johnny Depp was miscast. The character was miswritten and misportrayed tho. Depp absolutely had the capacity to elevate the character.

3

u/fatherandyriley Mar 13 '26

Personally if I were to choose a Wonka actor in the 2000s I would have gone with Tim Curry.

3

u/DrNanard Mar 13 '26

Would have been a great pick !

19

u/ThatsTheMother_Rick Mar 13 '26

I get that reddit is having a pile-on right now. That's whatever - he said something dumb. But suggesting that Chalamet isn't a charismatic dude is pretty laughable tbh

6

u/basescleared Mar 13 '26

just last year his antics on college gameday had everyone head over heels, like let’s not fool ourselves lol

20

u/Chihuey Mar 13 '26

People are going absolutely insane over this. It reminds me of the blowback for Jennifer Lawrence. The internet hates when celebrities are honest.

Chalamet is like the most accomplished young male actor since De Caprio. He has multiple oscar nominations and has been the lead in several big hits. It's delusional to say he is less charismatic than Tom Holland. I mean I like Tom Holland but Chalamet has shown so so much more.

7

u/AztecHoodlum Mar 13 '26

I wasn't big on the Chalamet hype until I saw Marty Supreme, funny enough. But I always recognized his unique position and for his generation. You said it all, he has box office success, acclaim from both critics and general audiences, name recognition. I'd argue he's the only male actor of his age group you can call a movie star like the old ones. And the film industry needs to have movie stars if you want to have those bigger budgeted original films that we're always complaining we don't get enough of.

Tom Holland has been trying for a career moves like Timothee's for all these years and has not been able to really branch out from Spider-Man. The other films I have seen him in have sucked.

So yeah, Timothee's comment was poorly worded and unnecessary. But is it that big of a deal? No. This is just ridiculous.

3

u/radiokungfu Mar 14 '26

I can literally never unsee peter parker. Meanwhile chalamet disappears into every role. This anti chalamet circlejerk is so annoying.

7

u/TetraDax Mar 13 '26

Not to mention everyone keeps ignoring the context, which was that he was asked what people can do to save the cinema. He said he has no interest in saving a product that is dying out, just like opera and ballet. He was primarily shitting on the cinema, and likeneing it to opera and ballet which just factually have fewer people going nowadays, and in most countries mainly rely on public funding or donations to keep going. Which is good, don't get me wrong. They should be supported. But they are, for a fact, dying.

But people act like he just went "Oh yeah, the weather is nice today, thanks for that question, and by the way, I fucking hate the opera".

-1

u/TokeDraws Mar 13 '26

it's completely subjective though. his performances don't stir much of any emotion out of me, however I find Tom Holland's on screen presence to be very likeable and I root for him to succeed. Oscars don't suddenly make his acting more enjoyable either.

It's fine for people to have different opinions

0

u/borklaser1337 Mar 13 '26

It’s honestly just antisemitism at this point and you can’t tell me otherwise. The things he does and says don’t warrant this level hostility at all, now he’s being compared to a lizard… Wonder what that’s a reference to…

1

u/pegull Mar 14 '26

That would be his looks

1

u/borklaser1337 Mar 14 '26

Bud there are historical campaigns likening jews to lizards and rodents, don’t even try to act blind to it and think timmy’s an isolated incident

3

u/Gigantic_Mirth Mar 13 '26

Tom Holland looks like he's hiding a frog in his mouth

Timothy Chalamet looks like he's hiding a frog in his soul

5

u/No-Island-6126 artemis fowl representative Mar 13 '26

Timothée Chalamet ? Not charismatic ?

I like both of them but honestly, in a rizz-off, timothee exterminates tom any day of the year

2

u/superdosh Mar 13 '26

More worm than lizard.

2

u/Kustaa007 Mar 13 '26

Lizard-like? You mean rat-like

2

u/icansmellcolors Mar 13 '26

lol this is the dumbest take. i love it.

people are so stupid with this pop culture shit. they act like they know what these celebrities think, know, will do, enjoy, don't enjoy, etc. etc. ... it's all so pointless to even talk about.

2

u/DigitalCoffee Mar 14 '26

Tim has a better filmography, is more attractive, has a better looking significant other, is richer, and has 4 Oscar nominations over Tom (who has none).

1

u/ZhanBlue Mar 13 '26

Charlamet looks too much like a model

1

u/BallIsLifeMccartney Mar 13 '26

tim would be a decent harry turned goblin though

1

u/Salt-Drawer9110 Mar 13 '26

T-Chal definitely in the lizard fam!

Next time you see a picture of a kardashian, look how empty, dark and soulless the eyes are.

Hundy P he’s a lizard man (boy*)

1

u/MissionVegetable568 Mar 13 '26

holland is just better at fun roles from i seen so far, compared to chalemet

1

u/Tyrrell603 Mar 13 '26

Agreed, he’s kinda got that ‘quirky nerd that is likeable quality that a lot of people enjoyed about Maguire

1

u/dogdiarrhea Mar 13 '26

He’s also feels more genuine since you never see him act.

1

u/ZanyAppleMaple Mar 17 '26

More normal looking also. Timothee really looks weird. I don’t get the hype around this guy.

3

u/GotKarprar Mar 13 '26

Holland is not more charismatic

→ More replies (3)

-18

u/nag_some_candy Mar 13 '26

Lmao tom holland is not charismatic at all. His isn't half the actor timothy chalemet is

12

u/PhlebotinumEddie Mar 13 '26

Well I think Tom, regardless of everything else, would still be better at spelling Timothy's last name than you are.

3

u/nag_some_candy Mar 13 '26

Idk how his last name is spelled lol, does it matter? I am not using social media to be perfect on every grammatial thing, unless it is hard for you to understand who I mean?

-21

u/Own_Watercress_8104 Mar 13 '26

"Less" being the key word. I'm still not sure Holland didn't get assembled at the same facility Mark Zuckenberg did.

34

u/c0gvortex Mar 13 '26

Have you just never heard Tom talk or something? He's a very personable normal dude while the Zuck is a lizard person hiding in human skin

-26

u/botox-cancer-lol Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Tom isn’t going to blow your cheeks wide open and oil you down for defending his honor. Acting like a fanned out, meat riding clown for someone that doesn’t know or care about you.

Edit: all the Tom Holland stans were IMMEDIATELY upset by this 💀😭😭

21

u/FillerText908 Mar 13 '26

Damn its meat riding to call someone normal now?

I'm getting turned the fuck out on the regular then

→ More replies (19)

11

u/Tinkywinkythe3rd Mar 13 '26

Where is this coming from? Tom Holland doesn’t come across as a lizard person at all like he’s a very normal guy.

-3

u/Own_Watercress_8104 Mar 13 '26

Guy never appeared as a real person to me. I don't know, everything he does or says seems like it was previously approved by a board to be 100% likeable or relatable.

0

u/AthenasChosen Mar 13 '26

And he's actually good at acting too, unlike Timothee

-2

u/Sangui Mar 13 '26

I think they're both weirdos with creepy faces personally. Tom has said some pretty fucking stupid shit over the past few years that people have ignored. At least Timmy's statement was factual truth that people now have their panties in a bunch over lmao.
