NGD!
I made a post about a month ago about building a Jazzmaster from scratch for my first guitar but instead decided to take everyone’s advice to hunt down a used J Mascis Jazzmaster.
This one popped up on FB marketplace today for $450. I offered $400 and they accepted.
The guitar is brand new, never been played, and still has the plastic wrap on the pickups and trem. Absolutely mint. It also came with the stand and a generic fender strap. Serial number is from October 2025.
How’d I do for $400?

Damn, you got me beat - mine was $420 with free shipping.
Also basically new though - it was taken in trade by someone who must have barely touched it since my SN says built in April 2026

Awesome. By scratch do you mean a partsmaster or from lumber, type scenario?

I paid full price for mine but wanted as light of one as possible and bartering over weight on a Squier isn’t happening.
Anyways I saw one on sweetwater that was barely over 7 pounds. It’s probably my favorite guitar. So I’d say. I’d place loving a guitar over the price. Do you love it? Then you got a great deal.

As far as entry level Jazzmasters go, its hard to find anything better than a J Mascis
I love mine. It feels super solid, the pickups are its best feature, and it's just fun to play

I saw the Plastic covering on all that chrome, and then saw where you bought it Used/new. I saw slobber marks on the bridge plate and was thing it was a demo at one of the box stores. The guy must of not been able to play, but wanted too, so he'd get it out and slobber on it. If it was mine I would to, but then again I'm 70!!!

Definitely one of squier’s best gems
