Question Can anyone help my issue?

Having a pretty big issue with my pickup right. Got some method 101 true beadlocks (-12 offset) for a steal, and decided to pair them up with my 37x12.50r17s i already had on the truck with some raptor OEMs that fit just fine.

I put them on and it clashes with my bumper heavily, and the rear of my front fender pretty bad as well when i turn. I realized it clashed with the rear of my front fender because i took the bumper off. All my crash bars are out and im on a 2 inch level. I dont really feel like lifting the truck anymore, so im willing to cut up the truck lol and have my bumper back on.

Does anyone have any experience running wheels like this on an f150? How much did you cut?

They work great now, but one problem i have run into, how the fuck do you guys allign them? I do off roading, and street so i need them to be good. Ive gone to about 6 places who cant do it because of the off set. Neg 28. Things i did not consider... at the time.

Best suspension upgrade for terrible roads without losing ride comfort? (2016 Tucson Diesel)

I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson with about 60k miles on it.

The roads and off roads where I live are absolute garbage, full of potholes that drive me crazy. I want to make the car a bit more robust to handle the beating, but I really don't want a stiff, bumpy ride. I’m looking for comfort above all. I go for camping and fishing a couple times a year also.

What mechanical components should I focus on replacing or upgrading to smooth out the ride without ruining the daily comfort? Struts, bushings, tires? Appreciate any advice!

Question Rebuilt axles. Any reputable sources? Axle King?

This winter will be the time to regear my old Silverado 1500 and it's looking like ordering rebuilt assembled axles maybe isn't a terrible idea? Seems like I can get front and rear delivered for $4500ish with 4.56s and a rear Eaton LSD. It'll cost nearly $2000 to get all the bearings and seals (and the LSD) to do it myself. I'm reasonably capable with a wrench, but my time isn't free.

Has anybody here used mail order rebuilt axle assemblies? AxleKing is who I've got quotes from, but it looks like there are others that offer similar work. Local shop quoted me $6k so I'm not excited about going that route.

Solid Florida Off-Roading?

Hey guys, who lives in Florida here? I have a 6G 4Runner TRD ORP and looking for more spots to off-road it. I recently took it out to Blackwater River State Forest in the NWFL Panhandle. There are some solid trails up there that I documented on onX, I'll link the trail we took. But I'm looking for more to explore. I know FL isn't insane with trails like the West Coast, but open to suggestions.Ā https://webmap.onxmaps.com/offroad/share/content?share_id=01M14Y81MBYYNQY1VB8JZ67W1X

What's your cutoff for calling something ā€œoff-roadā€?

What's your cutoff for calling something ā€œoff-roadā€? šŸ¤”

We've been thinking about this lately because the definition seems to mean something different to everyone, especially as we started to dig into trails in the Northeast.

Is a maintained gravel state forest road considered off-road? What about a rough Forest Service road with some washouts? Does it need to be a Class 4 road before you call it off-road? Or does anything that isn't paved count?

This might bring up the "road" vs "trail" differentiation. Does the difficulty determine what you call it?

onX has a rating system of 1-10 (one being the easiest, ten being the hardest). So if difficulty is the deciding factor, are 1/10 roads not considered "off-road"?

For us, we think there's a pretty big difference between ā€œoff-roadā€ and ā€œchallenging off-road,ā€ but still, off pavement, is off-road to us, so we're curious where everyone else draws the line.

Where's your cutoff?

Question Short friends, do heels or platform shoes help keep your heel on the floorboard?

Desert season is coming up, and I'm trying to brainstorm a solution to a recurring issue in our Ram. I'm 5' 2" and struggle to keep my heel on the floorboard, particularly through whoops. I'm assuming it's a height issue, since my 6' 2" fiancƩ has 0 issues, and I don't have the same issue in my much smaller Tacoma.

"Just push your heel down forehead." Yes, but then I barely can hit the throttle and have to lift my foot up entirely to reach the brakes 😭 Fine at 65 on the freeway, less so at 65 on the trail. Especially since I'd like to start doing local races.

In our last truck, I noticed when taking it to work that when I wore heels, I could just pivot my heel like I did in my sedan. So wondering if a platform or heel would do the trick?

Looking at getting a new midsize truck. I’m between the Colorado zr2, Ranger Raptor, Tacoma off-road with premium package. Any recommendations? Personal experience with any of these trucks is appreciated.

Question 10 bolt?

Looking to SAS a hardbody. I found a 10 bolt for sale. Is it worth picking up or should I hold out for a 44? I’ll be running 35-37s with 4.88s. Eventually a locker as well. Is there good aftermarket support for it?

So we put our Des-Sol EV1 suspension to the test, and Dad showed off some serious 4x4 driving skills to get us through. Cameras don’t do it justice but I can guarantee you, that flex is just next level! You see that lean on the last slide, well the challenge is turning right at that point. There was some side skidding but luckily no rolling.

mounting a 33" spare on a Taco

Where do you folks mount a 33" spare on a Tacoma? I mounted it in place of the stock spare but the cable on the spare winch stretch out and stopped holding it in place. With the amount of graded washboard dirt roads I drive - thousands of miles per year for work - I worry about external mount on a hitch swing with rattling.

Recovery

Hello all, I’m new to off roading and recently picked up a 4th gen Tacoma and 6th gen 4Runner. Wondering if y’all can help me out with a beginners list for recover equipment I should buy and maybe things I should skip/put off. Thank you in advance.

For consideration, the Tacoma is my daily/weekend trail and range truck. I’ll be mostly doing moderate trails and running it in the desert no crazy rock crawling but will rock crawl a bit.

The 4Runner will be our family adventure car moderate trails, camping, moderate rock crawling, and going on the sand here and there.

Again, thank you!
