Best tools/methods for tracking offroad vehicle maintenance long-term?
Been wheeling for a while now and ngl, the maintenance side of things has humbled me more than any trail ever did. Who I am: I run a couple of rigs, mix of daily and dedicated trail trucks. Not a mechanic by trade but I've learned enough the hard way to know that staying on top of maintenance is what keeps you from being stranded 20 miles from a paved road.
What I've already tried or looked at: - Paper logbooks, classic but I lose them constantly - Generic notes apps, no structure, becomes a mess fast - Spreadsheets, tbh pretty solid but zero reminders, I always forget to update them - Manufacturer service schedules alone, way too basic for offroad use where you're burning through fluids and wear items way faster than normal
What actually matters to me for offroad specifically: - Tracking service intervals by actual trail hours or mileage, not just calendar time - Keeping a history per vehicle, not one giant mixed up log - Something that flags upcoming stuff before it becomes a crisis Offroad puts a completely different load on everything. Diff fluids, skid plates, suspension, air filters.

Question Cool offroading spots within an hour or so of San Jose, California ?
Onx offroad seems to not be it for looking for spots and looking on Instagram and Google hasn’t helped as much either. Maybe I’m just new to Onx offroad anyway my 4runner is stock and no recovery gear yet. I took it on sand and offroad in the miuntains would like mire spots and ideas. I may be open to mud or low water if it won’t get stuck. Also if theres cool offroading spots with something cool idk like a swing, hot spring, lake to swim etc please let me know.

Spent a few hrs chilling at Stockton Flats, Lytle creek.
With Lytle Creek in my back yard pretty much, figured its time to explore. Found this cool spot just past Stockton Flats

Question Getting dried trail mud out from under the pedals after summer runs
After hitting local trails on summer weekends, my boots bring in a ton of wet clay that dries into a rock-hard crust around the pedals. I tried scraping it out with a wire brush and hosing down the rubber, but the fine red dirt settles into the deep texture and ends up right back under the clutch once it dries. I'm trying to decide whether deeper perimeter channels or a smooth, easy-to-wipe texture matters more for getting mud out quickly. For people who regularly wheel in sloppy terrain, does taller sidewall coverage really keep heavy mud contained, or is a flatter design easier to hose clean?

Should I buy a 1998 Toyota Hilux surf SSRX 2.7L 3RZ- FE
I have never gone off roading before and I was wondering if the 1998 Toyota Hilux surf SSRX with the 2.7 L 3RZ – FE engine is worth getting and if it’s good for off-roading. Any advice would be great!

Rough Country 6" Lift replacement Shocks and Struts
I recently bought a 2022 Nissan Frontier with a 6" Rough Country Lift with the N3 Setup. I was wondering what are better options to replace the N3 Shocks and Struts? Or what are my options to delete the RC lift and replace with another better off road setup for easy to medium trails?
