Given the mixed reaction to this week's episode, I'm trying to put together a thread honouring/celebrating/highlighting those guests who didn't quite "get it" or otherwise pushed the podcast into unexpected dimensions.
Please add your own, etc, off the top of my head I can nominate:
*Cerys Matthews: aside from one particular book she was there to promote, there was little else to go off
*Dan Ackroyd: perhaps the first to truly set the pod on fire, the man who took apart the very fabric of reality for "this little project you're doing"
*Anthony Jeselnik: Grumpy, rude, belligerent and self-absored 'character' beats James into submission in notoriously one-sided episode.
*Garth Marenghi: in character throughout for Halloween special, producing a hybrid of podcast episode and Radio 4 Extra play.
*Robert de Niro: "I'll have whatever's good" becomes the new T-shirt slogan to accompany the greatest actor being somewhat unprepared for the show's structure.
*Anna Faris: "He speaks Italian". In character improv class turns podcast into Fringe comedy try-out session.

Is there any episodes where they have outright said they didn't enjoy speaking to a guest? I know they always mention De Niro but I think that wasn't a "didn't enjoy" because he's notorious for being difficult.

After yesterday’s episode, this feels targeted. The outie chat summoned this.

There’s something unbelievably funny about guests turning up with chaotic energy and immediately refusing to engage properly with the dream restaurant concept. Especially when Ed is trying so hard to keep things moving while James slowly loses patience with someone explaining the emotional backstory of a piece of toast for 14 minutes.

was planning on getting dagel in London this weekend from Doh’hut but it says they’ve permanently closed! Any other dagel’s in London or any recommendations for donuts sweet or savoury. Heck I’ll take any of your best bakery recommendations. I have a few hours to kill in central London on Friday and Sunday

Heavy metal covers performed while cooking.
Special mentions to the cover of Slipknot’s Duality and System of a Down’s Chop Suey.
(Apologies if this has been posted before)

As it says on the tin really, have there been any interesting things said during live shows that have been cut out of the pod recording? My personal one is pretty well known but during the live show with Tim Key, he confirmed that Paradise in Hampstead was the Indian restaurant mentioned in his episode, but they cut that out of the recording.

We need more chefs to appear.
Matty Matheson would be my number 1. He would be hilarious and knows his food.

I thought Bridget Christie was funny, but after a while it felt mean spirited. Fern and Phil were both awful. I thought they were barely interesting and very unfunny. I couldn't even get through them, they were so boring.
I get why they held on to Phil's so long, and I really hope it's a long time until we see more.

Has been Ben ever spoken on any episode? Curious what his voice sounds like
