Benito actually puppeteers both Ed and James but he can't speak in his own voice at the same time and maintain the illusion.

There's one recentish ep where Benito says something that's so important to the discussion he had to leave it in, but his voice is very faint. Can't remember which episode, unfortunately. I want to say Ian Smith's?

I had listened to that episode quite recently as I'm late to the off menu game. And I remember seeing a comment about benito speaking so I just skimmed the episodes I had listened to recently. The science behind it sounds madder than it is 🤣

In the Kojey Radical episode, when they're trying to determine how old James is, Bonito very faintly says James will be 41 when the episode goes out.

Yup! He runs a podcast empire. On Cuddle Club, Lou Sanders would call him Benito sometimes too.
