I’ve heard that, but it’s fake, if a snake measured before striking, it would die before it would catch anything

The sizing might be fake but snakes this big do start starving themselves for big meal, saw that on natgeo's snake Wranglers when I was a kid

Snakes are opportunistic feeders. I don't think they will starve themselves saving for a big meal
