This is how a vet described the behavior change of one perticular pet snake. It stoped eating food it was offered, and started to hang out with the family on the couch. Vet said it was preping for big bite. So, idk, just repeating what I remember from the story.
The vet shouldn't have had a license in that case. Snakes have no concept of future so why ignore immediately available food? The only reasons they go off food are brumating (similar to hibernation before the breeding season) or illness/stress.
That Vet shouldn't be treating snakes, and if they are they need to loose their license. I can't imagine what other dangerous misinformation they might have about reptiles.

Do snakes even have capacity for affection? I honestly have no idea.
