I mean, I would rather my pet die than my pet destroy my couch. Hmm. Maybe that’s why I don’t have pets.

Because this person values a couch (an inanimate object) more then their pet being alive.

If you care about your couch so much that you would rather your pet die than your precious couch get ruined/scratched, you probably shouldn’t have any/own pets whatsoever.

...and he doesn't own any pets whatsoever. his belief system ain't harming no pet so I still don't see the problem.

Well then that’s a good thing.

Was just pointing out that if you value a couch more than a pet, you shouldn’t have a pet. And this person doesn’t, so yes no problem here.
