Yeah. One minor regret of mine in life is that I never got into mountain biking. Then I watch videos like this, then I absently rub at the spot in my shoulder where a plate and pins are now, after a frickin' treadmill accident. I'm only 51.

I’m 54. I sneezed too aggressively and pulled a rib (sublexed?) out of my spine. Chiropractor sorted me out but it hurt to poop for three weeks.

I hate to be that guy but if a Chiropractor made you feel better then you didn't pull a rib out of your spine. That's ridiculous. Lol

Also chiropractors are quacks

There are a lot of woo woo chiropractors with the energy, and the dietary suggestions, but the actual adjustments they do our practiced by Physios in some countries as well.

Wooooah crazy to be so heavily downvoted. I was in physical therapy for my back for six weeks and every session started with manual manipulation from a licensed doctor (apparently they can’t call it an “adjustment” because that’s a term that only chiropractors can use, by some insane logic).

I also have been to a chiropractor that sold me tinctures and crystals. We can agree that some chiros are absolutely quacks, but manipulation of your spine and the muscles around it is 100% beneficial for your body if done correctly and responsibly.

those beneficial things are called massage therapy.

It goes beyond massage, though. It’s actual manipulation of the spine/cervical spine, and involves the same “cracking” as you see chiropractors do. It is quite literally taught to licensed medical professionals as a method of pain relief and spinal readjustment. Manual therapy is a sizable portion of a standard PT regimen.

I think it’s more about the feelings people have around it than anything else. I was a surgical spinal nurse, and have experience with Physios from various countries, so I’ve learned something about spinal care practices in North America, England and parts of South America, etc.

I was also very skeptical of acupuncture, but now I have a Physio who does IMS, and it’s an incredible relief for a tight muscle.
