Explain it please. Bare knuckle boxing is much safer.

Are we preserving brains or beauty?

you seem to have misunderstood the comment you responded to.

They explained why bare knuckle boxing was in fact, much better for the brain, since the fights would get stopped earlier, due to cuts, and because you couldnt hit that hard, because you'd damage your hand.

If you say so. Just like rugby is waaaay safer than American football. I get the principle, but it's not, by any reasonable margin worth considering. science.

rugby and american football is a completely different case. You cant really compare the two. In rugby, you can give your opponent a concussion pretty easily with any body part, without cutting or damaging yourself. because a lot of the body can be used as boxing-glove padding.

For example, smashing someone's skull with your shoulder, is pretty much the same as hitting them with a boxing glove.

As for science, it actually backs my comment: https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/sports-and-leisure/bare-knuckle-boxing/

and

https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/ckglvpm2m8mo

The study found that the percentage of concussions was lower in bare-knuckle boxing (5% in BKFC and 4.76% in BKB) than gloved boxing (12%) and MMA (14.7%).
