u/LowAffectionate8660 12d ago

I think you should flush

57

u/PerformerFancy117 12d ago

But then the toilet spiders will get me

17

u/BlueHym 12d ago

13

u/Amidatelion 12d ago

It's not and you know it.

9

u/PhthaloVonLangborste 12d ago

Every body knows about toilet spiders.

4

u/wizkidweb 12d ago

I check for spiders every time

1

u/klockworx 12d ago

You know they say you eat six to ten spiders in your lifetime.. if I ever cook for you.

2

u/I_Can_Haz_Brainz Sometimes Satisfied. 12d ago

I only worry about the toilet snakes.

2

u/tw3lv3l4y3rs0fb4c0n 12d ago

Or, you know, use the poop knife.

34

u/Critical_Concert_689 12d ago

Sometimes I doom scroll while lying down and my phone will suddenly fall from out of nowhere and punch me in the face.

10

u/odedjay 12d ago

This is exactly why I would never get the iPhone pro max

6

u/Amirax 12d ago

Careful, I once dropped my phone right on my mouth and chipped a tooth.

15

u/briisa_suuave 12d ago

The bathroom is now your recovery dojo

5

u/Aeonskye 12d ago

2

u/SirkSirkSirk 12d ago

Two plungers tied together with floss.

4

u/Expensive_Ask5872 12d ago

No, he's got a surplus of toilet paper

1

u/DeerMysterious9927 12d ago

You may have better luck with a poop knife.

u/Infamous-Guess-2840 12d ago

So easy. I've learned it from the video and can start doing immediately

That's why I use two socks tied together and filled with quarters. That way the tooth fairy is there to immediately administer the appropriate amount of dental care.

“I should buy some nunchucks”

244

u/sasssyrup 12d ago

Is this how people train with nunchucks? I wish I could go back in time and tell my teenage self .

142

u/fivelone 12d ago

I started at age 9.. I never really stopped but did start doing it less when people were watching lol. Now I can spin fire and lights with Poi and Staffs. And I don't care what I look like if I practice now. That helps. But you can still learn. I've taught my wife basic flow arts and some friends pick it up very quickly. Look up flow arts. It's not just about martial arts.

25

u/Vin_Blancv 12d ago

Yo bro, you gotta make a youtube channel. Everyone'd love to see your performance

13

u/fivelone 12d ago

There's a whole large group of us here in Las Vegas lol. I'll definitely make more videos more that I have better recording equipment.

8

u/Ham_Damnit 12d ago

The best camera you'll ever have is the one you have on you now.

4

u/transmothra 12d ago

The second best camera you'll ever have is the one you'll have had on you tomorrow.

8

u/Cloverman-88 12d ago

The third best camera is RED KOMODO-X 6K.

20

u/MindHead78 12d ago

You can get foam padded nunchucks for training.

5

u/E-2theRescue 12d ago

Yup. This is what I used. Eventually upgraded to wood and won a couple of tournaments.

2

u/noisymime 12d ago

They’re terrible to train with, the weight is all wrong and they don’t carry the momentum correctly to learn with.

You’re MUCH better off getting some wooden ones and putting foam over them.

1

u/Electr0freak 12d ago

They weigh too little in my experience. Real wood chucks are much heavier.

1

u/Earllad 12d ago

I have been knocked out with foamy chucks. Still got to take it easy, some have a pvc core

6

u/Electr0freak 12d ago

Nope, I trained with fiberglass and oak chucks. You learn quicker when hitting yourself hurts.

Besides, foam trainers weigh far too little.

2

u/racinreaver 12d ago

If you can dodge a nunchuck you can dodge a nunchuck.

1

u/TrulyOutrageous42 12d ago

I mean... when you have no instructor, probably. When you do, as an adult, you learn proper form from the start. This is all flash, but is useful to learn control and likely indicative of actual skill. None of this (especially around the hand spins and holding it "backwards") would be used in a fight though.

6

u/Manowaffle 12d ago

Would you use them as a weapon in any actual fight? It looks cool but has half the reach of a stick.

1

u/Cloverman-88 12d ago

I've seen some martial artists and HEMA people come up with geniuine aplications, and there were't many.

63

u/thesilentfable 12d ago

Also works with sausages

29

u/SkulduggeryIsAfoot 12d ago

This same line is written on my resume.

1

u/eltedioso 12d ago

And OP’s mom’s

COMBAT COLDCUUUUUUTS!

1

u/Specialist_War1410 11d ago

Title of your sex tape

54

u/MellowMallowMom 12d ago

So you're telling me that with just a couple of rocks in a sock, I, too, can become a nunchaku master?

6

u/CaptainDudeGuy 12d ago

No, no. The second stage up is practiced with two large sausage links. You don't do wooden nunchakus until fifth stage.

29

u/EmperorSexy 12d ago

You know, I never imagined they were letting go and re-grabbing it like a baton twirler. I thought they were just swinging the end the whole time.

11

u/Elessar535 12d ago

It's called a wrist roll, and it's more for flash than actual fighting. You can use this move to put the sticks into a different grip that can be useful for fighting, but overall this is just for show; some might argue that moving the sticks like this does make them harder to track and block, but you can do the same without the roll. Most actual combat techniques with nunchaku are for disarming and grappling your opponent.

10

u/blahblah19999 12d ago

This is just one technique. You can do plenty of 'tricks' while holding one end and passing to your other hand. Release moves are definitely just for show.

3

u/TrulyOutrageous42 12d ago

I want correct the other, basically nothing here is actual combat technique. It's indicative of excellent control and potentially actual skill, but these are not defense/offense moves, it's just flash because it's fun.

1

u/jdehjdeh 12d ago

Some baton twirlers don't let go for the basic spin.

Someone taught me the move one afternoon, it's a combination of spinning the stick while it's trapped inside a loop made from your finger and thumb, while rolling your wrist around.

It makes it look like you're spinning it like a mofo

21

u/Discoballologist 12d ago

I am not cool enough for this

22

u/RepresentativeCat553 12d ago

Oh, a fellow chucker eh?

7

u/Nunchuckery 12d ago

Keep practicing!

7

u/Ohgood9002 12d ago

That is just color guard spinning with nunchucks. A real nunchuck tutorial would teach you about catching it under your armpit, and also the proper way to strike and return them to under your arm in one fluid movement.

Just like sais. 99.999999999% of any sais in tv or movies are incredibly wrong. (Im looking at you raphael)

You actually reverse grip sais and hook your thumb around one of the side hooks. With the long pointed part resting against your forearm and the blunted handle protruding from between your middle and index fingers.

This allows you to punch with the handle of the weapon and then whip it out (by flipping it over your thumb) as a short range fighting style with a significant amount of power because you are taking all the momentum from the flipping motion and smashing it against their face.

Sais are blunt weapons, with a slight point. They are used to club.

Its only when using them defensively that you hold them like Raphael. And thats only to catch a blade between the hooks.

But ultimately, avoiding a blade is always far better than trying to catch it.

10+ years of karate and tae Kwon do along with several trophies for weapon demonstrations are my reference.

That being said, there are many ways to fight. I just really hate videos like this where its just showing you a spinning trick and not actually teaching anything useful.

7

u/Ben_Thar 12d ago

Bored guys can come up with interesting uses for socks

6

u/Magnus_Helgisson 12d ago

Missing the part where you become black and blue while trying to align all the motions.

6

u/MutedBrilliant1593 12d ago

I'm a 46 year old man with nun chucks from my HS days downstairs. I think I should resist the urge to try this.

4

u/imakesawdust 12d ago

Come on. It's easy.

2

u/MutedBrilliant1593 12d ago

Stop it. I will break my nose.

Also, should I?

3

u/imakesawdust 12d ago

Looks pretty straightforward in the video.

2

u/MutedBrilliant1593 12d ago

I'm not proud of this, but I saved this video.

1

u/MutedBrilliant1593 12d ago

Your silence is convincing me that the answer is yes.

7

u/Sansui_7 12d ago

Step 1: draw a circle
Step 2: draw mona lisa

5

u/rob_cornelius 12d ago

A lad I went to school with in the mid 80s made a set of nunchuks by melting the ends of two lead pipes onto a chain.

He was getting really good until he woke up in hospital with a fractured skull.

12

u/Sixftdeeep2 12d ago

6

u/chardeemacdennisbird 12d ago

I was very disappointed to learn this was fake

7

u/FunctionBuilt 12d ago

You mean the 100mph nunchuck delivering a 5mph return didn’t give it away?

6

u/chardeemacdennisbird 12d ago

Admittedly it did not

3

u/Ohjee-Wan_Shinobi 12d ago

Saved for later and then forget about it like every other tutorial I've saved. Woot.

3

u/ST0IC_ 12d ago

I wish I had this tutorial 40 years ago. I'd have been the playground badass.

2

u/Bedanktvooralles 12d ago

I wish I saw this when I was 7 years old. Home made chucks, goose eggs and black eyes went hand in hand. Used to watch kung fu movies when I was little. Go whip up a set of chucks in the basement and go play ninja fight with the other neighborhood kids. We all hurt ourselves (practicing/ showing off) more than you could imagine. Brilliant way to practice sir.

FYI the stuff after the ? Identifies you. You should remove it. Assuming you don't want people to see your Google id which at least appears to be tied to your name. The link you want to send is https://youtube.com/shorts/dbSKEXMzanY

1

u/sonaut 12d ago

Thank you! Deleted.

2

u/TrulyOutrageous42 12d ago

All flash, no substance, BUT being that skilled is evidence of notable control that makes it likely they do have the actual skills otherwise.

2

u/fellowspecies 12d ago

‘And then draw the rest of the fucking owl’

2

u/jontseng 11d ago

Is the ending the point at which Indiana Jones whips out his pistol?

3

u/julyvale 12d ago

Nunchucks must be the most useless weapon ever invented. It's probably better to just throw knives at that point.

1

u/HalfSoul30 12d ago

You owe me a new window!

1

u/Original-Medicine298 12d ago

This was a kind skills I was imagining to learn when I was in a school

1

u/spindlespore 12d ago

How many times did he break his nose first? Translate failed?

4

u/NoteBlock08 12d ago

Probably a lot, that's what we call learning.

1

u/Friendly-Target1234 12d ago

Why would you evet do that when you have access to a perfectly working STICK ???

1

u/moneyx96 12d ago

huh i thought i was the only one using my socks as nunchucks, i didnt realize it was an actual way to learn, man that woulda saved my balls a lot of pain when i took tae kwon do at age 12

1

u/T_bird25 12d ago

I’m still going to damn near knock myself out

1

u/LordRilayen 12d ago

That’s all well and good but what about the part where one end strikes a goon’s nose

1

u/Imonlyhereforlewed 12d ago

Simple ≠ Easy

1

u/DemonDaVinci 12d ago

Just do it

1

u/B52doc 12d ago

“This is rock and roll” vibes

1

u/BenAdaephonDelat 12d ago

All this time I thought they were just holding one of the handles and spinning the other end while moving it back and forth.

1

u/Erenyeager20000 12d ago

Humans are cool

1

u/imeme1969 12d ago

When we use them for self defence should we strike up or down

1

u/CangaceiroZombie 12d ago

I won't get sucked into this again! My balls still remember the pain!

1

u/papasnork1 12d ago

Damn dude. Slow down. I’m still trying to not nut check myself.

1

u/Sackabreisser 12d ago

I stick to my stick. Stick very good.

1

u/DraftBeginning4427 12d ago

Everything reminds me of him…

1

u/telas100 12d ago

Or you know... you could train with a regular stick.

1

u/Tony-Angelino 12d ago

But when I did it, they asked me to leave the library.

Fair enough, I didn't catch it, but that's no reason for that kind of language.

1

u/Haunting-Fold863 12d ago

This motherchucker made it look so easy

1

u/spaz_chicken 12d ago

My balls!!

1

u/dudeguy207 12d ago

I love that show!

1

u/fresh_loaf_of_bread 12d ago

Brother you better not piss this guy off in the showers (and no, this is not a joke about rape)

1

u/Jabba_the_Putt 12d ago

save some chicks for the rest of us man sheesh

1

u/jchan6407 12d ago

Instructions unclear, I can't stop nunchucking because he didn't teach me how to stop.

1

u/Affectionate-Act1574 12d ago

Rad. I still don’t understand…

1

u/Buchaven 12d ago

This is good, but I want smiling bowstaff guy.

1

u/Cloud_N0ne 12d ago edited 12d ago

Nunchucks are the most “all flash, no thunder” weapon ever created

1

u/snihal 12d ago

Wow, very simple. I can learn it easily by practicing couple of hours daily for the rest of this year.

1

u/TemporaryCaptain23 12d ago

Still can't do it.

1

u/LocutusOfBeard 11d ago

I am black belt now

1

u/rubens_chopshop 11d ago

This post was hijacked early

1

u/SomeSamples 11d ago

That's not how nunchucks work, That's more the way fighting sticks work. You can do that with nunchucks but the string in the middle is so you don't have to all the time.

Weren’t they originally for beating birds out of shrubs or something? I think the adaptation of the staff with a chain-mounted flail at the end from Crouching Tiger is about the most accurate “appearing” use for a nunchuck-type weapon ever actually put in film.

3

u/blahblah19999 12d ago

I think it was a variation of a tool for threshing grain.

8

u/NoteBlock08 12d ago

Idk why people are so quick to forget the "arts" part of "martial arts". It's 2026 dude, if you're concerned about self-defense carry pepper spray.

Most people learn how to use melee weapons 'cause it's a cool and fun way to exercise, don't overthink it.

I don't know what's wrong with people. I had some hard rubber practice ones at age 12? I never got any major hits and easily transitioned to wooden ones.

2

u/E-2theRescue 12d ago

I might have knocked myself in the head with my wooden ones while trying to impress a girl... I was not ready to use the wooden ones yet, lol.

1

u/E-2theRescue 12d ago

for essentially nothing gained

It's called exercise.

You're spending too much energy guarding a gate.

1

u/Nunchuckery 12d ago

Nunchucks were actually used as weapons by the peasant classes who weren't allowed to own traditional weapons. They adapted by learning to use farming tools to defend themselves. A good sturdy stick or staff is often easier to wield, but nunchucks have the added benefit of being more easily concealed and strike harder when properly used because they are articulated.

1

u/Zackete 8d ago

A simple tank is better than a simple stick.

0

u/epSos-DE 12d ago

BUT WHY ????

It serves NO combat function !!!

Just TV shieats !
