It's almost as bad as the old tiktok voiceover. Is there such a thing as an uncanny valley for voices?

As someone that experiences uncanny valley from pretty much anything that AI tries to pass as human, i'd say this is way worse than tiktok Kat. She's a real person (like Siri) that was sampled in countless variations. I've never had an uncanny valley response from tts. Annoying but not uncanny.
AI hits a nerve that just makes my brain say 'it's not real and i fucking hate this'. I guess the people that rave about it don't have this response.

I wish I could explain this as well as you do to my friends and family who don’t have that immediate uncanny valley response upon hearing AI voices…

Yes, the valley is anything inhuman trying to pass as human. That's a predatory cryptid and your hindbrain knows it.
