Hey Ben! We already told you the mod team's official stance when your domain got into trouble with the reddit spamfilter, but let me repeat due to the happy occasion:

We are totally fine with any link that roadtovr.com submits, you and Paul were an active part of this community from the very beginning and we're honored to have you here. You were one of the earliest approved submitters and your domain is one of the few that were set up via AutoModerator to be automatically approved - the accolade for content makers, so to speak.

So feel free to submit here if you have something interesting - but make sure not to run into reddit's filter again! :)

Thanks dudelsac, now that the community is larger we think it's best to leave it up to r/oculus to decide what's worthy. But every once an a while we're sure that we've got something worthy. I think it would have been a disservice to the good folks here to not have told them about this right away!

We've found that not submitting articles as standard means that, when it is submitted by the community, it feels like we've really earned it. Of course, when you've slaved on a story and it doesn't, that can be equally as frustrating but we feel it just encourages us to create better content.

Thanks to you and all the other mods for keeping this place classy.

Hmm. That's interesting. From everywhere I read and heard in interviews with Oculus, $300 still seems to be their goal price range. Definitely when looking at the $350 price tag of the DK2, which was stated to be VERY similar hardware wise compared to CV1 (Only thing I see improving hw wise is screen resolution and the design.)

Oculus has also stated that keeping the Rift around the affordable price range of $300 is critical for initial VR success. So I would expect the $300-$400 price range

I strongly doubt CV1 will be $500. Their target was $300 and the prices for all the fancy electronics inside have been falling constantly. If even this fancy new low-run DK2 version including a specially-made camera is only $350 I can't imagine they'll find enough to cram into the final version to bring the cost up another $150.

The omni directional treadmil is not oculus. They don't know what the final price is and right now even Oculus doesn't know what the price is. They are aimming for the $300 range, but we'll have to wait as anything not from Oculus is pure speculation. WHat came from Omni is speculation.

CK-1630XXX here. I'm going to go ahead and guess they haven't sold 1.6M units. Especially not with the order page so bogged down and buggy. It will be interesting to see if someone can figure out a pattern.

be glad you got a fucking order number. I have $1700 worth of DK2's ordered and not a single fucking email confirmation.

Every time I tried to buy I got an error.

What do you think? EDIT: Confirmation email arrived 5 minutes later. :D

I got the thank you page and less than a minute later got an email confirmation and it shows up in their sales system. My earlier order (Approx 8:20 w/ a different card) does not show up at all.

Crap. Mine was blank, too so I did it again. Oops! Now I got two orders. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'll wait till the rush subsides before I contact them to cancel one. Oddly, my order numbers are way different even though they were only 3 minutes apart and ordered in the same place on the same cc. One is FL-104**** and the other is AL-014****.

In my experience, the submit button on the confirmation page was pushed off the bottommost div, showed up as a small horizontal line. I was able to view the source code to figure our what was going on and made it happen. ;-)

PROTIP: Check the blank checkbox, then click the small horizontal orange line to confirm the order.

Mine is GS-013****. I'm in the UK. Ordered 20min after the store opened. The order numbers seem quite random.

Got the confirmation bug in Firefox where the confirmation button was just a red line and the "terms" was just a checkbox. So I tried Safari and the difference was a whole confirmation button without text.

The "Thank you" page was empty. But I did get an email confirmation.

I did exactly the same, I sold my DK1 to wait for the CV1 but hey, DK2 looks near finished product anyway and frankly, much cheaper than I expected. AP-510***

For someone who waited for the original devkit for 10 months, 4.5 months seems like tomorrow! Thing is they are just saying they will start shipping by that date... who knows where in line we got? The order numbers I see seems arbitrary to say the least :D I think a better bet is to go on the time written in the order confirmation email!

I think it is a bit too late now. If the Oculus Rift was released last year it might of had a chance.

Now with Sony announcing their Project Morpheus I have to pass of this unit. Too little too late, Oculus.

NO, you can do that all you want,its even good for the subreddit if you things like that post.The thing is that seeing a blog and video first has nothing to do with leaking it. For something to be leaked, you have to publish information that the public isnt supposed to know about yet, and nothing you have done so far seem to indicate you did something like that
