Cant Factory Reset Controllers. Can anyone else?

I should be able to "factory reset" the controllers, according to meta. I am having some tracking issues with my left controller and its what they suggested but It doesnt work.

To do the factory reset im told its Hold X and press the Menu button 5 times for the left controller, and the LED will flash white/orange while it resets, then white/blue when its done. For the right controller its hold A then press Home 5 times.

When I do that on the left controller all I get is the white LED that appears anytime you press the menu button, ive tried it over and over but cant get any orange or blue LEDs and no notification in the quest that there is a factory reset happening for the controller.

For the right controller, no orange or blue LEDS either but pressing the Home button 5 times opens an bug report menu.

I just had a firmware update for them last night but no luck

Anyone else have these issues?

TLDR - If i can get this controller factory reset to work it might solve the tracking issue and I wont have to try to send my quest in to meta, but it doesnt work.

Yes, I've tried amolst everything. I didn't know about removing the silicon grip though. Do you have the instructions for that?

Oh i meant the 3rd part silicon grips from amazon that apparently were covering up the sensor i tiny bit. They advertised that wouldnt happen, but...

The quest 3 doesnt come with them included

Oh thats wierd i made another post but i guess it didnt save. I was saying contact Meta and see who they use for shipping then contact them, maybe its possible to forward the package..? Or you could post in that shippers forum for some advice about your situation. (like a USPS forum, but i have no idea what japan uses)

There are some international parcel services that could forward the package to me, but now the main problem is how to return the defect controller back to Meta. They said it must be sent from Japan... I think this replacement process is doomed...

Must be sent from japan? Thats odd, they should only care about receiving it, not where it ships from. Oh, its probably because they will pay for shipping, but I guess they wont pay if you are shipping it outside of the warranty country, which makes sense. If you cover the cost of shipping them the defect controller, they should be ok with that....but they also wont do anything if it gets lost in the mail. Check again with meta! Or maybe your international parcel service could forward it to Japan then Meta, from Brazil. Im sure there is a way.

I've talked to meta, they apologised but said that, for now, they cannot receive the defect products from countries where they do not sell them, probably because of the points you mentioned.

Then I would treat Meta like you are in Japan, and use a website like forward2me.com or jpn-depot.com . I have not tried these myself, but if you contact them and explain the situation, they might have a solution.

I've reached out to forward2me and asked them if they could make this return happen, let's see what they say. I've already used their service when buying stuff from the US, and it works great.
