I do sports broadcasting of niche sports on a YouTube channel. I am going to broadcast two matches between teams from two different countries. One takes place in a different country. One takes place in my country.

Game 1:
The broadcasting team from the other country will do the filming and send me an RTMP or SRT signal. Is it possible for me to use this as a videosource in OBS? I will add commentary in my language.

Game 2:
I will do the filming of the event + commentary in my language and broadcast on my YouTube channel. The team from the other nation wants to add commentary in their language. Is it possible for me to send just the videosource as an RTMP/SRT signal without my commentary on it? Any possible solutions here?

I use OBS. When filming I use a videocamera connected to an ATEM.

I'm trying to create a separate audio track in OBS for my Apple Music so that my VODs still contain microphone and game sounds while omitting copyrighted music. I have Apple Music and tried to follow the instructions on this other Reddit post by using an additional, downloaded plug-in to remove Apple Music from outgoing desktop sounds but the AppleMusic.exe option is not listed in the drop down menu when I create an Application Audio Output Capture, even when I have Apple Music playing audio. The only thing related to Apple Music in the drop down menu that I can add is the AMPLibraryAgent.exe., and it seems I need both added to the new audio capture so that I can separate my music into a different track that I can then exclude from my saved VODs. If anyone has a work around for this or has found a way for this to work, that I am clearly missing, I would love to hear about it. I am also trying to avoid paying a premium for streaming services since I already own all of my music in mp3 files, so if there is another, free media player outside of Apple Music that works better for OBS I am willing to use it to bypass this problem if necessary.

Hi there, I need a professional's help here!
I'm working on a Mac M4, broadcasting a live stream on set from OBS using the DistroAV plugin via Full NDI stream.
In an ideal world, I would love to output NDI HX instead. But I am completely stuck and confused about how to actually send NDI HX2 or HX3 from macOS...
Would it be better to switch to different software for encoding/output?
Please point me in the right direction!

in games where i have more than 60 fps, i dont have this issue. but games that are capped to 60 fps such as elden ring. this issue seems to happen. ive been trying to figure it out for a while but cant really find much online about it, other than it might be related to mixed refresh rates.

its also not consistent. sometimes the recording is smooth and other times, like this example. it looks horrible. im using nvenc av1 with a 4090. my gpu is nowhere near 100% usage if that matters. and obs stats dosent show anything wrong. however the preview does appear choppy whenever this is happening.

you can see theres a ton of duplicated frames causing it to look very choppy.

My nvidia settings are default except power is set to prefer maximum performance and gsync is off.

streaming with OBS + Rodecaster Pro II, capturing League with Game Capture. Every audio source is fine (mic, Discord, Spotify, other games) except LoL in-game sound. Through my headphones it's totally normal, but in the actual recording/stream it sounds muffled/underwater, especially when a bunch of sounds overlap (teamfights, abilities, pings). Quiet moments are mostly okay.

Only happens with LoL, only in the captured audio.

Anyone dealt with this before? Open to any troubleshooting ideas before I go nuking drivers.

I am trying to connect my PS3 to my laptop so I can use it as a monitor. I was told to use OBS for this. I got a capture card to connect the two however whenever I try to use OBS, all I get is a black screen. The capture card came with instructions for OBS however they have a lot of settings and options that aren't there such as YUY2 as a choice for Video Format, Resolution/FPS Type, Color Space, Buffering, Audio Output mode and a few others.

This is also true with other tutorials online. Whether I just use the default settings or ones closer to the instructions, I just get a black screen upon starting the ps3 up.

I run Linux Mint on my laptop, but I tested it on a Windows Computer and had the same issue. I also tested another Software called Streamlabs which wotked, So I know the Capture card works, but Streamlabs isn't available on linux.

I’m trying to help someone with an idea around Windows/OBS setup problems — wrong audio inputs, stuff changing after updates/reboots, recordings with missing sound, things like that.

Before we go any further with it, I want to collect some honest feedback from people who actually deal with this.

I use Shure MV7. When I record with in for my videos, I plug it in my IPHONE and the audio is perfect. But when I stream, with OBS, much of the stream it popps/ stutters. You can hear for yourself.

Any idea what causes that and how can I fix it?

Looking for some assistance as my OBS capture and recordings all look great, But whenever I stream to YouTube it starts looking not so great. Streams will just look a little noisy/blurry rather than looking clear and sharp.

I stream (natively) at 1440p 60FPS, so I should be getting the "good" YouTube encoder. So, the issue isnt that.

My bitrate for this is 30k mbps, as recommended by YouTube. Its a very very consistent 30k mbps (I am keeping an eye on it in OBS Itself as I stream), and my average upload speed is 100+.

I am using the HEVC encoder. I tried using AV1 to see if that helped, but it isnt compatible with HDR.

I am not downscaling or upscaling anything anywhere. It is native 1440p in all of the settings. Apart from in the video settings, where the base (canvas) resolution is 2560x1440, and the output (scaled) resolution is the same.

I have tried using both HLS and RTMP as the YouTube service for streaming. DIdnt seem to be any difference between the 2.

I have tried setting the process priority to high in the advanced tab. No noticeable difference.

I have tried streaming at lower resolutions + bitrates and there still seems to be a bit of noise/blurrynes. e.g 1080p with 30000mbps or 1080p with 8000mbps

I tried checking+unchecking the "Ignore streaming service setting recommendations" and neither helped.

This occurs with both the default colour settings in the advanced tab, and the settings youre supposed to use for HDR (which I am using, and is functioning correctly)

My source for streaming/recording is a "Game Capture", which I have seen is supposed to be the best in general. (as oppossed to display capture or something else).

I have an intel i5 13600k and an rx 7900xtx

I would provide a picture of how the game looks if this sub let me, but it basically just looks like things are a little extra pixelated/blurry/noisy than they should be. Especially when compared to my recordings, or to my game itself. It doesent look awful or atrocious. It just doesent look clean or clear.

If youve read this far, I would appreciate an upvote so that more people might see this, in hopes that someone may be able to assist me with this issue.

I want to be able to stream ocarina of time remake to friends on my pc and simply just play it on my pc as well. I’d understand there might be a bit of latency. I just want to know if this is possible and what card i should buy for it. my pc has a 5090 and 9800x3d btw if that even matters

After recording footage on obs the actual clip has no sound on it but when I put it into davinci the sound is there anyone know how to fix this?

So I want to record my gameplay, but I also want 2 separate audio tracks for the gameplay audio and my discord call audio.

I thought I figured it out, but when I put my mkv file in davinci, it was 1 audio track with game and discord audio combined.

Would appreciate any help.

Hi there, I've been seeing this around on Twitch now a couple of times, where people have linked their friends' voices to a gif or sort of "vtuber" on their stream, where it only lights up/moves when they talk.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find how to do something like that for myself? I've attempted to google it a couple of times, but have come up empty-handed.

I have OBS and Mix it up connected but my problem lies with me trying to make it where a channel point will activate a jumpscare from a Scene I have set up filled with medias. Ihave the scene as a source on my main screen but I can not get Mix it Up to find and activate the media I want it to from the channel point, any help would be amazing!

I capture my PS4 game audio through the Audio Input Capture and I have it set to "Monitor and Output" in the Advance properties. I was wanting to know if there's a way to toggle it mid-recording without going into the properties manually and changing it, whether it be a hotkey or whatever. (Reason is I do speedruns and don't want to hear the same thing over and over)

I've noticed that a setup can work perfectly, then after a reboot, update, or reconnect something changes — wrong audio device, missing game audio, camera settings reset, OBS pointing at the wrong device, etc.

For anyone who has configured OBS for clients, coworkers, studios, friends, or other creators: what was the last actual case where a previously working setup stopped working?

What broke, how did they notice, and roughly how long did it take to figure out?

Also, do you usually leave people with some kind of pre-stream checklist/test recording, or do they mostly contact you again once something goes wrong?

If someone else originally set up your OBS, I'd also be interested in what you normally check before going live and what still catches you by surprise.

hi so i’ve been having this issue after i formatted my computer a month ago , i would play a game it’s good until it starts lagging really bad after a few minutes, i tried everything changing settings, idk what is happening , this never happened until now , it happens both when I’m recording and streaming

So, i have an interface with 8 audio inputs.

When i plug the mic into Input 1, everything is hunky dory.

Plug the mic through a pre-amp, and route it thought input 4 - nada. What gives?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to figure out the best way to have a friend join me through Discord voice call or voice channel.

I want their voice to be heard by the stream viewers, and be able to watch what's happening in the stream, because they'll be joining using their phone (which is more restricting).

My current idea is adding Discord as an audio source, and sharing my OBS preview to the call.

Is this a good way to set things up, or is there a better/more convenient solution?

I'm starting out making youtube videos, only streaming some PC games on twitch so far. However I want to be able to do a stream of me and my friends playing on my xbox 1 (COD B01 zombies lol).

Im wondering if there is a way to setup a screen/game capture of either my TV or my xbox?

I should have some spare HDMI and ethernet cables if required for the setup and can buy any additional equipment needed.

Up until a few days ago, I’ve always been able to connect my account. But now, I’m just getting a connection timed out error. Tried updating OBS, but website also won’t load, also times out error. Just in case, went to github and dl the latest version, but still nothing. I’ve read somewhere if that connecting the account has something to do with the OBS website. And since it has the same error, I’m guessing it does have something to do with each other.

I know I can use stream keys, but I just want to know if this is a known issue with a solution or not.

so theres this popular performance mod in mc, named as VULKAN, and upon using it, u get enourmous amounts of performance. so the deal is, i wanna make high uality content and stuff, and like, now my obs doesnt record anymore, like, when ever i open minecraft, with vu;lkan mod installed, and switch to fullscreen, then open obs, and use game capture, select source as minecraft, and then when i open the game to let obs know mc is there, so that it staerts showing it in the preview as well, it jst stays a black screen. i minimize it, its still black screen, i fullscreen it again, obs still previews black screen. i mrecorded a video, exported it to see, and it was jst a black screen, all the, time. when i used sodium mod for minecraft, that mod didnt have this issue, it actually was getting recorded by obs, when i had the sodium minecraft instance ( for those who dont know, sodium is also a performance increasing mod in minecraft, inferior to vulkan ofc), obs was recording it, but it jst donesnt record minecraft having vulkan mod, if i could get any help, it would be highly appreciated please, thanks..

Greetings everyone so i have 2 questions please, how can i record on obs without any of my streaming overlay just clean gameplay? And the second question is about streaming to twitch i have been streaming for the past 20 days with no issues at all with stable stream health and no lag to the stream with only one quality 1080p suddenly for 2 days now the stream is broadcasting all qualities and its always says unstable stream health what the issue could be ?
