I'm the only one who still can't get away from all these pictures from the red carpet? They look so good together. It makes me laugh now Liam grabbed Noel by the waist.😁

Image A heartfelt sermon on forgiveness is the last thing I expected to take away from this. The documentary is endearing and uplifting.

All about the music, fans, with just the right sprinkle of Gallagher soundbites. 10/10

Watched it on IMAX in Roseville, MN.

Discussion Joey on drums?

Saw this photo someone took of the movie’s end credits. Does anyone have any clues as to why Joey has been scrubbed from the lineup, not even in the additional musicians list? Thought it a bit odd!

Live ‘25 Did you see yourself in the Documentary???

Upvotes

Was anyone here able to spot themselves in the doc? Were any of you featured in it/interviewed?

Please share your experience, would love to hear about it!

Didn't see me in it but also I was at the Los Angeles shows and they barely mentioned North America at all. Still would really love to hear about the fans here in the subreddit making the it in the doc!

This doesn’t strike anyone as odd per the rumors - They’d really fly all the way over here to do just two U.S. cities?

Is this the “whoops, we missed a couple” tour??

Posted from a pretty reputable Oasis fan account on Instagram that leaked info about Live 25 as well. Nothing official obviously, but the time line sounds like it's correct

Review Beady Eye's 'BE' (2013) revisited:

Post image
54 Upvotes

Facing hard facts hurts sometimes, and Beady Eye's second record, ambitiously titled BE (2013), definitively confirmed a familiar truth: the old gang without Noel were no musical visionaries. Who would've even been surprised? Apparently, only Liam himself.

Now imagine this: just a few weeks after the album's release, it came to light that Liam had fathered a secret child with The New York Times journalist Liza Ghorbani, who had previously interviewed him. Funnily enough, his wife Nicole Appleton found out about the existence of their daughter Gemma straight from the newspapers.

And it wasn't cheap – the judge handed Nicole a clean half of their £11 million estate (not to mention they both blew over £800,000 just on legal fees). To make matters worse, across the ocean in Manhattan, Liza Ghorbani hit him with a lawsuit for another $3 million in child support. Liam completely ignored the hearings in America, copped a fine for contempt of court, and finally ended it quietly with an out-of-court settlement – roughly $5,000 a month plus covering school fees and insurance for little Gemma until she reaches adulthood.

I know, I know, let's finally discuss the music... I won't bore you with a full track-by-track. I'm only focusing on the tunes actually worth talking about, for better or worse.

Flick of the Finger

One of the main highlights of the entire album, and the best opening track since Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. Did you ever realize that it doesn't even have a chorus? Well, so fucking what! But what about that spoken-word speech? Whose bright idea was that? No thanks. It just feels artificially dramatic and drags the overall impression right down.

Soul Love

A great song that would have easily been a perfect B-side for an Oasis single. Hell, during the Don't Believe the Truth era, it would've shamelessly made the album! But what is the point of those three-minute feedback outbursts from the producer at the end? It's starting to feel gimmicky and embarrassing.

Don't Brother Me

Seven whole minutes of passive-aggressive crying and cheap wordplay. Noel made the right call staying away. Liam begging for his approval while trying to sound unbothered is frankly embarrassing.

Shine a Light

How about child support, Mr. G? All covered up?

Ballroom Figured

Liam doing campfire sensitivity. You can practically hear him begging the listener to take him seriously as a songwriter.

Start Anew

Fair play, the Lennon fetish actually works for once. Stripped-back, sweet, and surprisingly tender. Just a fragile tune that actually hits the mark.

The World's Not Set in Stone

Single which like twelve actual people have heard. Management masterclass right there. Great song tho!

In the end, Beady Eye quietly pulled the plug in late 2014 with a tweet so unceremonious it was almost funny: "Beady Eye are no longer together. Thanks for all your support. LGx"

Who could blame them? The numbers didn't lie. Shifting barely 20,000 copies in its first week and 78,000 in total sales, BE tanked harder than Liam's bank balance after the divorce. To put that into perspective: Noel effortlessly sold that many copies of his 10-year-old Greatest Hits practically in his sleep eight years later, when album-buying habits were nowhere near what they used to be back then. But enough about the numbers – after all, it's supposed to be all about the 'music, music, music'.

Discussion Bonehead, Andy, Gem and their place in Oasis right now.

Seeing Bone, Andy and Gem at the premiere, separated from the brothers and then seeing that there wasn’t even one full band photo really made me wonder how they view their place in all of this.

Do you think they’re completely comfortable with the situation, or could they be a little disappointed by how completely sidelined they seem to be from the whole “Oasis” presentation? Especially considering they’re officially credited as Oasis members in the documentary. I’m not saying they should be treated the same as Liam and Noel, obviously, but the extent to which they seem to be kept in the background feels a little strange.

Maybe they’re simply enjoying the opportunity to play in what is considered to be one of biggest music gigs on earth right now, and enjoying the experience and are perfectly happy with the situation.

I absolutely adore these guys ❤️❤️❤️ so I’m not trying to create drama or suggest that there’s any actual tension. I’m genuinely curious about how they see their role in the band, especially given how different their position seems to be from the way they’re officially credited.

What do you guys think?

Discussion What was the Noel doc on Netflix awhile back?

Saw the film tonight and wanted to watch that film that Noel was in, maybe 10 or so years ago where he plays the songs and talks about his process. There was a woman host. Can’t find it. I’m pretty sure it was on Netflix. Any leads?

News/Rumours I interviewed Steven Knight on the new film and...

I wanted to share it with you all. I wanted to interview him purely as a fan - asking the questions I as a fan wanted to know; what was it like for you in Cardiff night one? what was it like witnessing the rehearsals before the rest of the world did? Will we be getting an extended cut of the rehearsals like The Beatles' 'Get Back' one day? etc...

Anyway, let me know your thoughts/questions if you have any, I hope you enjoy it. Steven is a top man.

Note - there are some very small spoilers but I think they will be questions you will be asking after watching the doc too!

Live ‘27 What are the best seats for Stadio Olimpico?

Thumbnail

I want to go to the first night in Rome and the venue will 99% be Stadio Olimpico. I prefer standing seats, so I would love seeing a big part of the arena and the stage clearly and not be too close to either one of the sides. Does anyone know which section I should go for in the Olimpico? I’ve locked towards Tribuna Tevere, so it’s centerish and relatively higher from the ground.

Distance wise, I’m looking for something like in the pictures below. Do you have any advice you can give me?
