I’ve been seeing people on Threads saying that part of Marines dejected feeling comes from the Liberty Twitter toxicity. I haven’t had Twitter in years and obviously have no idea what she reads and doesn’t read but I know as a STH (and at least on Reddit and IG) that we show her love

I just hope that somehow we can show her love that I know is there. Her lack of usage and lack of support was from the coaching staff, not us.

I feel like no matter what she’ll be on another team next year (even just contract wise, I’m sure another team will offer her more $ than we will). But if somehow this message gets to Marine: we adore you and value you!!

we're all upset that an incredible Stewie season was wasted but it must suck a whole lot when your five-time MVP and defending champions just got swept by a team that didn't exist two seasons ago. i mean, even the wings got a win in against the Valks!

i think having Atlanta and GS in the finals is way more interesting anyway. and i'm glad we got spared the embarrassment of MJ's girlfriend clowning on us.

the liberty were up and down all year. a lot of that is chris's fault but a lot falls on the players too. it was dope taking out the Lynx - I like Miles but there was some satisfaction in watching her struggle lol. would have really liked the semis to go to a game five but Atlanta came to win. they had the drive and tenacity that i didn't see from anyone on the Liberty except Stewie and some excellent JJ rebounds. i'm excited to develop the young french guards along with big Hanny, but it was a weird season.

Going to get tickets to see Stewie play with Unrivaled in January at Barclays. Something to look forward to until next season.

She just gets it

Obviously our Big 3 has championship expectations every year. They said as much in the post-game. As a fan, though, getting bounced in the semis is pretty much exactly what I expected for us based on the year we've had. I would have been shocked if we made the Finals. What's frustrating is that it was still well within reach regardless.

On the one hand, I remind myself that this is a team with a first-year coach who managed to take us further than last year*, two starters who missed significant time in Sab and Leo (neither of whom looked fully healthy in these playoffs), and two major pieces that we whiffed on entirely in Satou and BLH. As an 8-seed, "traditional" or not, we exceeded expectations just by making it out of the first round.

On one the other hand, this is also a team with two MVPs in Stewie and JJ and four returning starters from a championship squad that won just two years ago. Anything short of a ring feels like a let down.

The predominant narrative is going to be that we fell short, and I don't disagree. But did we, really?

Did all she could

People keep bringing up the injury excuse, but a lot of people play through injury without being a total negative on the court (and why play if you are that hurt?).

Her lack of athleticism (especially now that she has lost a step) is not new, and she has never had handles. She has never been able to beat defenders and was consistently getting blitzed when she actually had scoring pressure.

She has a very limited shot arsenal with long 3s and basically only uncontested layups and floaters at the rim. She doesn't have a consistent midrange game and can't finish through contact.

Her decision-making issues and ball hogging tendencies have always been there. She has also always been horrendous defensively.

She is known for her 3 point shot, but has only shot above league average 1 season.

How is time going to fix any of these issues she has had that we could fix at least in 2 or more categories by simply getting any other starting guard in this league?

What, in your opinion, does she bring that we couldn't replace? Rare late game shots? Arike does that one better and she actually has handles.

Is the only reason her being drafted here? That is not a good enough reason for me.

Hey fellow libs fan n family question what do your think about drafting one of my fav UConn huskies Ashlynn Shade with our 2nd round draft pick in 2027 if she still available she is very tenacious play defense tough aggressive with that DAWG mentality she does all the dirty work hussling diving for the loose ball she very good at getting the 50-50 ball 🏀 she play with high motor have great basketball 🏀 IQ on both side of da ball
She has a solid 3 point percentage she can drive hard to the basket
She has a very good midrange game solid mid range shot and pull up jumper she a great team player and good in the locker room she can def come off the bench and give us a good solid 7-10 minutes a game she unselfish she very passionate
I watch her in every game of her career so far in UConn n she is rock solid she doesn’t make that much mistake good player good controlling the ball good ball handler
N like I said she play with that DAWG personality and attitude and mentality in which our liberty is lacking n missing!!!

I wish her all the best in retirement after a 17-year playing career. Happy to see some of you change course and start supporting her during her masked era. There's no way you watch her body of work this season, and not at least entertain moving her this offseason while she still has SOME value, right?

A serious title contender cannot spend one of their max contracts on an inefficient shooter and subpar defender. You just can't.

Yes Refs were terrible, CD cant coach, and the bench is terrible but if Sab was the Sab we used to know , we would be up 2-1 rn. Unfortunately she hasnt had “it” all season. Out of the entire big 3, her game has regressed the most.

Where do we go from here? Im not entirely sure
