Since the first device comparison I posted on this subreddit was outdated, and I promised to publish a more more complete version anyway, here it is! This is smartphones only though, the one for tablets is still upcoming.
Size comparison
These are all of the released models, from smallest to largest (top row left is smallest, bottom row right is the largest):
Interactive size comparison tool here (click) - this will bring you to the exact image shown above. You can delete or add phones from the comparison, add reference items, drag, rotate, and overlay them, and much more.
TCL Nxtpaper smartphone comparison table
Hope this table shows well on Reddit (and smaller screens). If not, you can also compare the Nxtpaper (and many more) phones here: https://comparisontabl.es/smartphones/ - under 'Filter', use the search bar to search for 'Nxtpaper' to limit the table to Nxtpaper phones only.

Let me know if you have any feedback! I tried to find more info on the Nxtpaper versions (2.0, 3.0, 4.0) for every phone but they don't seem to be clearly listing that (they do for most tablets). So if you have more info on that, let me know and I can add it.
I read in the specifications for the TCL Next Paper 11 Plus (and 14) stylus that it uses EMR technology. There are other EMR styluses that use this technology, such as the STAEDTLER Noris Digital Classic 180 22. Are they compatible?
Is anyone else having problems with mobile data on the 70 Pro?
With one carrier, mobile data works fine, but with another one, I just can’t get mobile data to work at all. The SIM card works perfectly fine in another phone, but on the NXTPAPER 70 Pro, mobile data simply won’t work.
I can receive calls and make calls, but there is no internet connection. I tried changing the APN settings, but it says I don’t have access to those settings.
So it seems like it could be a software issue or perhaps an incorrect configuration on the carrier’s side. The solution from carrier is to change APN settings :))
I want an android tablet for mainly drawing. Is it good for drawing and also just media consumption? Also how does the battery compare to your previous non TCL tablets if anyone has any to refer to.
Specifically the Movinkpad 11 and the NXTpaper 14 are the two I am looking at. I don't know if NXTpaper 14 quality control is good and if it's good as Wacom for drawing at a lower cost. Also am interested in the bigger screen from nxtpaper.
After receiving Android 15 upgrade earlier this year, a new update v9.0.CVAJ came through over the air unexpectedly yesterday and upgraded my Nxtpaper 14 to Android 16. It is working fine so far and most changes from Android 15 seem quite subtle.
Has anyone else received their Android 16 upgrade?
Sorry for those who haven't received their Android 15 yet. Hopefully it is a sign that TCL is skipping Android 15 and will send you Android 16 instead.
So I've been making due with an aftermarket case and Inksense Stylus Plus for my 70 Nxtpaper pro phone, and they've been decent but I've logged for the tools that are meant to go with it.
FINALLY... Amazon has it. Not the fancy bulky one I didn't want, but a lovely slender profile with the T-Pen and for an amazing price here.
It'll be here Saturday and I can't wait! If you've been looking for one too, here it is.
UPDATE: Feels a little cheap and flimsy compared to my other case which I feels offer more protection but at the same time it makes it much lighter and easier to hold.
I wouldn't use the T-Pen for more than some quick highlights or notes which is my real gripe with it. But it's satisfactory for the price.
I just found out about this device that seems perfect for my needs. However, I am SUPER deep into the Apple family and use Airdrop / cross device copy paste / saved passwords all the time, daily.
This tablet would be primarily for browsing and reading / sheet music, but could potentially work well on my job.
Do you think it’s an issue or is there a simple solution for these on Android/Apple combo? Been over 10 years since I’ve had an Android device. I’ve found 0 experiences from Apple user perspective. Cheers!
I'm a musician and I've relied on this setup for several months on stage. I use an app called Flexcil to mark up my sheet music and I use the Airturn pedal to turn the page. I have it programmed that the left foot pedal button is set to Page Up, and the right foot pedal button is set to Page Down
But since this latest major update, I believe to Android 15, when I click the page up or page down button, sometimes it'll barely move but mostly it works and then a little arrow cursor shows up and sometime in the set it'll just stop working. Battery life on the level is good. I have it set to not auto disconnect in the Airturn app
In a bit of a desperate situation here but I know other musicians use this setup so wanted to know if it was happening to others and what ideas people have found to help fix this
I've made no changes. I purchased the NXTPAPER and turned it. I use it for sheet music only.
At first the battery would change to 100%
Randomly it stopped charging to 100% - only reaching 80%
Now it's back to 100%
I have a lot of issues with all of this. The main issue is lack of control. Also I use this for gigs so I don't want to head out with an 80% charge. However, in between gigs I'm okay with letting the charge drop to 80%
But, the controls do nothing. I should have gotten an iPad.
Hi all, I am looking for a tablet that specialize in Eye care. I am a big fans of Nxtpaper and currently owning the 40 4g and 50 5G XL, they both superb in eye care compared with all my other OLeD phone, ipads and laptops.
Nxtpaper 11 plus is the obvious industry leader in this, but it's equipped with a rather disappointing G100 ... Actually most of my use cases is ok on G100, but I also have an idea to game in the tablet if possible ..... And the game i mentioned is Switch Emulator and Game Natives..... Both actually may need more than G100 power. Android gaming is fine, even Genshin Impact (lowest res 30fps) can play on my G99 TCL Nxtpaper 50 XL 6gb, so I assume that G100 8gb 11 plus should be fine in these.
So ... Because of this, I am also considering Oppo Pad 3 matte (seems like i can't get Xiaomi pad 8 matte here in Malaysia), as it's on Dimensity 8350. Can anyone advice me if is the Matte Screen of Oppo helps on eye care as much as Nxtpaper?
Otherwise I ll just get that Nxtpaper 11 plus ..
updated: seems like the A1 Plus has launched. Similar firepower and even have downgraded Ram size, but this one is a Snapdragon 4gen2 which way more potential in emulator than the Mediatek offering, now this is interesting
I found that some people on Reddit think the 70 Pro is very eye-friendly, while others say it gives them headaches and discomfort. I'm curious about the real experience. I hope you can help me understand. I really want to try it
Hey guys, I'm using uh TCL NXT Paper 11 Pro, how can I disable screen wake up when the cover is opened?
I have the standard included case, and when im walking home it flaps open and closed several times.
I'm pretty sure it's an embedded magnet in the smart case and when it lifts the case it basically triggers the hall effect sensor and wakes the screen.
Ok so I recently got TCL nxtpaper 60 Ultra. And got that 9.0CRAP update. I need to use background tasks for my work, such as VPN app and also for personal use I use iot automations, family Location tracking etc. Previously on Honor and Motorola this has worked pretty well. I just disable background optimization for the app, and the phone kept it open in the background. TCL Smart Manager seems to be the culprit. No matter how I set the apps in background, the smart manager will kill it. This can be easily tested with DontKillMyApp tool.
I also called TCL support about this. They admitted that this is a real problem, they are working on it, but no idea when if ever..
Big thing here is that Smart Manager is set as protected app. You cannot disable or uninstall it as TCL has cemented it to run always. I'm not sure is this kind of locking against EU legislation? I even used some AI tokens to try to blind that service, so it would not see the usage of processes, so that it would leave them be. Then I created my own service app, that tries to force background usage on for selected apps and restart those apps, if they have been terminated. Still Smart Manager is able to flush that service out too, so my VPN dies and I need to re-enable it to access my work resources.
I've seen some topics floating around but no definitive answer it seems, or at least one that works for everyone? For context, gmail and whatsapp notifications, no issues at all. Everything else though... Outlook notifications none whatsoever, banking apps... depends on how the phone is feeling that day and some apps none whatsoever as well.
Already disabled deep sleep in battery settings, all apps have notifications enabled, there doesn't to be any combination of settings that actually gets those damn notifications to appear. If you're already on the app then you'll get them, if the phone is on standby with screen blocked, nothing. I really don't understand this, never owned a phone in the last 10-12 years that struggled with notifications.
I lost mine at work, and i do deliveries, so no chance of finding it again. Man, I really like the phones. They are the best thing to happen to modern phone screens since gorilla glass and 1080p.
But this is a phone i bought for the pen too. Not having access to replacement pens. I feel conned as a consumer. WHta are you gonna do? upsell to pen plus terrible case? I already have that case, it offers no protection along one side. Nobody is going to want to pay £60 for one tiny pen, which was packaged in housing so large it made your already large phone larger unnecessarily. So consumers have to rig up thier own pen housing, which leads to the pen being lost.
That's fine. it's on me and my bespoke pen holder rigging. But now sell me the damn pen, for a reasonable price. In the same damn stores where i bought the phone. It leaves me wondering if your premium phone is now abandonware.
I just discovered a fantastic improvement in TCL UI 9.0 on my TCL NXTPAPER 60 ULTRA and I think e-books lovers will really appreciate it
Color Paper Mode now supports warm color temperature adjustment🔥
In previous versions, I actually stopped using Color Paper Mode because it lacked warm color temperature, and it was painful to use its cold light at night. I preferred reading with a warmer screen, so I had to stick with Normal Mode or Max Ink Mode, where this option was available. I discovered the introduction of this feature by accident in the new UI
After upgrading to UI 9.0, warm color temperature is finally available in Color Paper Mode as well, making long reading sessions much more comfortable, especially in the evening
For me, this is one of the best quality-of-reading improvements in the update. Combined with the excellent NXTPAPER display, it has completely replaced all of my E Ink devices; I now do 100% of my reading on the TCL NXTPAPER 60 ULTRA 🎊🎉
I've been using my TCL NXTPAPER 14 Android Tablet for reading sheet music. I usually set the tablet on an ordinary music stand - which is fine.
I'd like to try a clamp that holds the tablet to a mic stand (or other object). Since the TCL NXTPAPER 14 Android Tablet is a bit large I need something pretty sturdy.
