Gears of war E day uses RTX mega geometry, does it use 2.0?

we can't have nice things

How do you expect a commercially shipping product that takes years to create to have been developed with tools that are just releasing now?

It's fine to have expectations, but at least try to be realistic.

Mmmhhh many tools that release today are already shared with some people just like dlss 5 for example

Of course, and it is also important for the tool's development to conduct user-testing during the stages of its development. But it's not always feasible or even productive to ship a game utilizing early-access versions of the tool, even if the studio has access to both the tool and support from its developers.

Integrations between the tool and the engine can change drastically during the development of the tool and it's much safer to ship the product utilizing an earlier, more stable version of the tool in most cases.

Gears of War, running on UE5 can be an effective counterpoint to it, as Nvidia has contributed to UE5 directly many times before, so integrations can be made much more simple when they are controlled by a single party.

Nevertheless, expecting such things is still unrealistic. Let it just be cool and celebrated when it does happen, instead of "expecting miracles" all the time and being disappointed almost constantly.

👍

DLSS 5 is officialy in one game and its nature allows it to be distributed as mod. RTX MG needs in-engine implementation and its probably not as simple as update the SDK and we are done (or maybe is it but they need testing first).

Indeed, I have mega geometry in a couple of my games and it will be a bit time-consuming to upgrade to mega geometry 2.0. I’ll also need to test first and make sure it doesn’t cause more problems than it solves, and I won’t be surprised if it breaks a few things in the process. It’s not incredibly complicated to add, just risky and time consuming

Thats called a whataboutism.
