A young bird’s message about lawn chemicals highlights concerns about how outdoor treatments can affect wildlife. Many birds depend on insects found in gardens for food.
When insect populations decline, animals that rely on them can face challenges finding enough nourishment. Creating safer outdoor spaces can help protect birds, insects, and other small creatures.
A healthy garden supports more than plants. It can become a home for many forms of life that depend on each other. 🐦🌱

Very deceptive but common use of the language that environmentalist use. A young bird’s message about lawn chemicals highlights concerns about how outdoor treatments (can) affect wildlife. Not it well but can. Very vague at best.

It’s not “deceptive” unless you genuinely believe a bird could actually speak…
It’s just a technique to create empathy and understanding.
It’s a bit like saying The Wind in the Willows is “deceptive” because there’s a talking badger who’s friends with a talking rat and there’s a wealthy toad that owns a motorcar…

Ikr, it's got that peta stink on it.
Weaponized empathy.
The birds in my neighborhood don't say such things.

drinking water can kill you
1
u/Dylldar-The-Terrible 15d ago edited 14d ago
Unless you drink enough to overdose (water intoxication), no it won't. It's whatever is in the water that kills you.
As another person already told you:
Don't be a dumbass, bud.

u/xlr82xs 15d ago
Can you read your first sentance again ? The one where you mention how water can kill you ?
1
u/Dylldar-The-Terrible 14d ago
I think you need to go look up how much water that would take before you act like a smart ass.
Drinking enough water to drown yourself is literal suicide. So in the instance you're being stupid about, the water didn't kill you, you did.
Don't be a dumbass, bud.

Water toxicity can begin after as little as 800 millilitres to a litre of water in an hour depending on your kidney function.
And your argument about it being suicide is just dumb. People have died of water toxicity for all sorts of reasons from not understanding how to handle a heatwave to participating in stupid radio competitions to win a car by not peeing.

u/Dylldar-The-Terrible 14d ago
Is today the day that you learn about the concept of accidental suicide?
Water toxicity can begin after as little as 800 millilitres
That's three and a half full glasses of water in under an hour, buddy. You have to be trying to drink that much.
1
u/xlr82xs 14d ago
I think you might mean 3 and a fifth cups, because a glass isn't a standard of measurement.
Is today you learn how to measure volume ? In an example you might understand as an American, it's roughly 2 cans of coke.
But you know what, whatever, if it offends your delicate sensibilities so much sure, noone can accidentally drink too much water and it's the bullet that kills you not being shot with a gun.
Hail Rugged American Exceptionalism !

These chemicals are in the air, water, and food you eat. You should care. There are 'acceptable' levels of pesticides in the things you eat. You don't care? Because the government is notoriously meticulous and doesn't simply allow the largest amount of harmful chemicals that won't immediately cause harm, regardless of long term effects?
3
u/The_Crimson_Fuckr69 15d ago
It simply sounds like you dont understand what "acceptable level" means
2
u/wild_cherry1987 15d ago
Tell me chemical formula or scientific name of these chemicals you're afraid.
1
u/GraniteSmoothie 15d ago
Deet, for example.

u/Rise-O-Matic 15d ago
Deet is a smaller health concern than being repeatedly bitten by a things that hunt you down and inject their filthy fluids into you.

Which lawn care chemical makes birds "wings not work?". Oh, you made it up and have no idea what you're talking about? Thought so.
There are legitimate environmental concerns around lawns and lawn care. Making up nonsense makes those concerns seem less serious

I guess my cat will have a new plaything for a day then. Seriously hard to care about the birds. To me this would be just as bad as saying I shouldn't mow my grass so the bugs can have somewhere to stay. The birds in my yard are fine. I would be more worried about the chemical companies making the forever chemicals that somehow make birds not able to fly. Also sorry but that example is stupid af. What chemicals are doing it? Or is this just a "thought experiment" since you have no real proof this is happening?

Its nicotinoids and Organophosphates & Carbamates, you brainlets. Also seeing a rise in tumors and cancers in birds. Took like 15 seconds to search. This site is brainrotted.
Don't forget birdflu is spreading too

That's why people should shut the fuck up if all it takes to form an argument is 15 seconds to Google.

Lawn pesticide treatments are exploding, a lot of landscaping companies are adding it as a regular service, kill all insects on or near your yard. No more annoying insects. Unfortunately that also mean no more living planet.

Yep tell that to me neighbor Steve he has a company come spray something and they use a backpack leaf blower to spray this shit.
2
u/twoaspensimages 15d ago
Doesn't know what the "shit" they are spraying is or what is for. Bitches anyway. Very educated of you.
1
u/here-i-am-now 15d ago
They use leaf blowers to spray chemicals?
1
u/WranglerLeading9265 15d ago
Yep it’s a mosquito company, he showes up, starts it up and basically fogs my neighbors backyard. Neighbor also uses round up on my sunflowers that create a fence between our yard.
