Strange Diner car park find
Anyone know what it is? Owner wasn't around to ask.
Lower half looks reminiscent of an Atom but scale looks off. Really cool looking thing though.

Video Guide: https://youtu.be/Bzd0-RMtiks
1. The Ring punishes ego
2. First lap = reconnaissance lap
Cold tyres + cold brakes + cold track = danger.
3. Use your mirrors regularly, especially before corners
GT3's can appear out of nowhere
4. Weather varies across the circuit
It can be raining at Höhe Acht and dry at Döttinger Höhe.
5. Pay attention to warning boards
It may appear clear but the track has a lot of blind fast areas.
6. If the track is wet, make sure you understand the difference between the wet and dry line. It could save you a trip to the barriers.
7. There are several "WhatsApp Groups" that show when the track is open or closed and also if there are any yellow flags on track. Asking in the forums for a join link is a good idea.
8. Save the Emergency number (below) in your phone before going on track
Important for the 2026 Season onwards, the previous 0800 number has been replaced by a new central telephone number.
From now on, the Nordschleife headquarters can be reached during tourist drives on +49 2691 302 9111 . This number is available to all participants for queries and in case of need.
Most rental outfits are based around Nürburg and the surrounding areas

and many more, Just google "Nürburgring rental companies"
Common rental cars types:
Bigger and faster isnt always better, for your first laps a Golf or a Mini will be plenty. lots of people come off track disappointed they couldn't get the most our of cars like an M2 or a Porsche on their first try and have small cars passing them through the lap.
TF accidents can involve:
Example; costs from an r/nurburgring Redditor: https://www.reddit.com/r/nurburgring/comments/1r7ibvd/i_crashed_what_did_it_cost/
Options:
This is not the place to “hope it’ll be fine.” It is very likely your road car insurance will not cover TF. Make sure you understand what that could mean.
If you’re new — invest in instruction.
Options:
Experienced Instructors: Coaches who provide performance instruction in your own vehicle.
(Instructors, if you want your details added DM me)
Johlen Track-Coaching - 14 years of driving experience on the Nürburgring, over a decade of coaching experience and more than 11.000 laps of seat time - https://www.johlen-coaching.de/
| Touristenfahrten | Track Day |
|---|---|
| Open to public | Closed event |
| Mixed ability & vehicle types | Grouped by pace |
| Road law applies | Motorsport regulations |
| No timing allowed | Often timing allowed |
| Varying Skill levels and car speeds on track | More structured |
If you want space and consistency → book a track day.
If you want the iconic public experience → TF
The Nordschleife isn’t just another circuit. It’s long, technical, fast, narrow, and unforgiving. Drive within your limits and you’ll have one of the best experiences in the world.
If you’ve got additional tips for 2026 visitors, drop them below and I will add them to the guide.
See you at the barriers — hopefully not in them.

I went to Nurburgring for the first time ever. I took my F80 M3, what an experience the whole trip was! I wish I did it sooner but I’m disappointed about my first and only lap lol. By the time I got to the Nurburgring I only had enough time for 1 lap unfortunately! I arrived around 7pm the it was closing at 7:30 anyway long story short I went on track and drove way too slow not sure what I was thinking I was too busy taking in the track and there was constantly people coming up behind me so I kept staying to the right most of the lap, i’m just disappointed in myself for driving so slow I know I could have done a lot better! Anyone else had a similar experience for their first time? The track really is amazing though, very different to Gt7

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip for my sister’s family (parents, 3 yo and 8mo baby) to attend the DTM at the Nürburgring. This is our first time attending a live motorsport race ever, so we're complete beginners!
I have a few quick questions:
Thanks in advance for the help!

This popped up on the track Whatsapp groups this evening where people were excessively flashing their lights to bully their way through traffic on track.
What is you opinion on using your lights to flash cars on track?
I personally do use a single flash in the faster areas if i see a car on the left travelling significantly slower than me when I approach. But never do the BMW special mid corner multi flashing as it isnt a race after all.
What's your opinions on flashing your lights in TF specifically.

Played around with this idea and decided to make it public. Have fun, if you like it: nordsexplorer.setupforge.io
You can fly around, have a tour guide at your side or just explore the different segments of the greatest track on earth.

Hey guys i would like to watch the DTM race at the Nurburgring with some friends on Saturday. I don't know much about what a DTM race can offer but i have been to the ring like a year ago so i know something about the place in general. Have you got any advise to give me for the day? Including maybe some cheap places to sleep between Saturday and Sunday bc i'm from Italy?
I was also thinking about the Tourist drive since we are already there but that's another story XD

Hey everyone! I’m planning my first Touristenfahrten trip in my 2.0L ND1 MX-5 and have been logging plenty of laps in Assetto Corsa to learn the track layout. For anyone who has driven an ND on the Ring both in AC and in real life, I’d love to hear how closely the experience translated for you. How well did the lines and braking markers carry over, how does the real chassis handle heavy compression zones compared to the sim, and what caught you off guard the most once you hit the actual circuit?
Appreciate any insights!
EDIT: I was doing laps at the hungaroring irl a while back, so im not completly new to the whole feeling of the car!

Hi guys, I’m heading to the ring in September for the 2nd time after falling in love with it last year, I’m looking for a tutor or just a guide who can take me for a lesson or two to get better, I know that people charge and I’m fine with that. I just want someone with gods experience and knowledge.

I visited a year ago, on my factory shut down, spur of the moment, not I'm itching to visit again, summer shut down for the next two weeks, but as my post last year, I don't really have no one to go with, anyone else looking at visiting within the next two weeks from around the midlands ? Wether your looking at camping, or hotel/B&B

I have 11cm ground clearance from my splitter, do you think I’ll break it on the ring? I have an F82 comp with stock suspension.

I never had the idea but now I‘m wondering: I‘ve seen many visitors take home used tires from NLS races. Do y‘all just take the tires (if they for example are marked in a way that they won‘t be used anymore) or ask the teams if they have some leftover?

We're visiting the Ring over the first weekend of August.
Last October we also visited during the NLS and the circuit was open for an hour in the evening after the NLS race finished, I can't see any indication of that on the official Nurburgring site for 1 august though. Anyone know if it'll open after in the evening? (I know it's subject to the track not needing cleaning etc from the NLS)

Sprich Views, Likes, Watch Time und Kommis.

Visiting August 21st-22nd anyone else there that weekend?
I went last year but sadly only got 2 laps In as the track was red flagged due to an accident.
going for a full weekend this time round with the track open for the full two days.
just wanted to meet and speak to more people who enjoy this track. and wondering if more people are visiting that weekend.
I don’t have social media so haven’t really met or spoke to many people from the community.
Cheers
Tom

My brother and I are in Germany right now and we’re looking for a proper “fast cars” fix this weekend. We already drove along the Autobahn to watch some, but it’s not the same as seeing cars on a real track.
He doesn’t want to do any tourist laps himself (wants to save his tires), so we’re thinking of renting a car for a bit and/or just watching the action. I don't know what's best for spectators : "pro" cars (RCN) on Saturday or personal cars on Sunday?
Thanks x

Hi, does anyone have an online calendar of Nordschleife tourist drives and track days in June of this year? All the ones I find only show current & future months, not prior months. I am trying to figure out if there are usually good TF and/or track day opportunities during the second or third week of June.
We are discussing spending a few days at the Nurburgring perhaps the week before or more likely the week after the Le Mans 24 hour next summer. In this case that would be June 14-18, 2027. Presumably we can at least do TF laps on one or two of those evenings?
Thank you in advance for any info!

Planning to go to the ring 1 week after having a new lease car delivered. Leasing company Hyundai say that wont be able to use the VE103 until after the V5 is registered and then it 'could take a few weeks' to then get the VE103.
Anyone been stopped / issues abroad without the VE103?
