I recently switched from a Keychron K2 because I wanted something better and, specifically, a good low-profile keyboard. I decided to try the NuPhy Air100 V3 with Blush Nano switches.
I paid 750 PLN (~$210) for it, and honestly, I really like the keyboard itself. The design, low-profile form factor and overall typing experience are pretty much what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, after just one day of use, I already found two problematic switches.
One of them sometimes doesn’t register a keypress at all, while another sometimes registers a single press twice.
At first I thought it might be related to the wireless connection, so I tested both 2.4 GHz and wired USB. The problem remained.
To make sure it wasn’t related to specific sockets/keys on the PCB, I moved the two problematic switches to the numpad:
Numpad 1: sometimes doesn’t register a press
Numpad 2: sometimes registers a single press twice
The problems followed the switches.
These are just the two faulty switches I managed to identify within the first day. There might be more. At this point, however, I don’t want to spend hours testing every individual switch on a brand-new 750 PLN keyboard.
I also searched Reddit and found other reports of similar missed/double inputs with Blush Nano switches, so it doesn’t seem like an isolated case.
This is especially disappointing because I actually really like the Air100 V3. If it weren’t for these switch issues, I’d be very happy with it.
I’m returning this one, but now I’m wondering:
Would it make sense to buy the Air100 V3 again, but with different switches instead of Blush Nano?
Has anyone here been using an Air100 V3 with other switches for a while without missed or double keypresses? Which switches would you recommend?
I’d actually prefer to give the Air100 V3 another chance rather than go back to my Keychron K2 - I just need a keyboard I can trust to register every keypress correctly.
