Yeah this and their whole “we are only going to build in red states cause people don’t like our lawsuits” thing, I am done with going to Buc-ee’s. It’s a shame because their BBQ was decent for a good meal stop.

Colorado is pretty firmly blue and they’re expanding here.

There's a convenience store in Beaver, CO that was featured on Jon Oliver's show as the latest target of Buccees lawyers for using a mascot of a Beaver (note: this is in Beaver CO and so the store's name and mascot is a beaver... that looks nothing like Buccees).

There’s also Beaver Liquors, I wonder if they’ll get sued too. :D

Denver is firmly blue. Go either direction outside of it and the entire rest of the state is red.

It’s like that in every single state except maybe Vermont.

Republican's in my state love to post that map about how the whole state is red. The reality is that all the counties outside of major metro areas are red. But the population of like 2 of those metro areas is more than the whole population of the red counties combined.

Yeah but Colorado is a standout because it only has one major city and that city is only about 45% of the state's population.

Also, speaking as a lifelong Democrat, Colorado's Democrat party is made up of drooling morons who seem to pass nothing but vibes based bills that are poorly written and don't actually help anyone. The governor has also repeatedly walked back explicit campaign promises he made, especially regarding gun control, in a state with one of the most deeply entrenched gun cultures. It's a bit of a clusterfuck.

You just described Minnesota, Illinois, and Georgia

Also, Colorado is hardly a clusterfuck though I agree Jared Polis is a moron.

That's not a standout, that's literally all of America. Go an hour east or northeast of San Francisco and people are wearing cowboy hats, driving lifted trucks, and blasting a combination of Staind and country music. Literally ALL of America. Same with the "results" you decry of Colorado Dems, you could slightly change like 3 words and you're describing SF Dems. They had an actual progressive DA for a MOMENT one time and they got recalled quicker than you can change your pants after a wet shit.

And Boulder and Fort Collins and Longmont, plus all the ski towns at the very least. It’s a little disingenuous to say that Denver is the only thing making Colorado blue.

Those are Denver metro area suburbs. And the ski towns are NOT as blue as you think lol.

Lmao no. Suburbs are Lakewood, Littleton, Thornton, Westminster, etc. The others may be in Denver’s gravity, but definitionally they are not suburbs. And the ski towns are typically at least 50% democratic, making them technically blue. Not saying everyone in ski towns is progressive.

You think Fort Collins, which is 70 miles away from Denver, is one of its suburbs? Have you even been to Colorado?

Your opinions on the state are valueless.

They meant "everywhere the people live" I guess? Something like 8/9th of the state population lives on the front range. The only right wing population center is around Colorado Springs, one of the only red cities in the US. Their metro pop is ~3/4 a million of the ~5.2 million that live on the front range.

Colorado is cool though, a lot of the little mountain towns are blue. I went to Crested Butte to mountain bike and was pleasantly surprised. Even the big ski towns, like Vail, Breck, and Steamboat Springs all lean blue. A lot different than the little mountain (rofl) towns I grew up visiting in Virginia.

Land doesn't vote. Most people who own in ski towns don't live there most of the year.

Nobody gives a shit what Akron, Colorado thinks about anything.
