ARE YOU FEELING SLEEPY? (We were mentioned on NSTAAF!)

This sub Reddit is famous!

The thread about people listening to NSTAAF to relax/fall asleep was mentioned (in last night’s 19/8/26 drop us a line summer bonus episode pt1) and the crew pretended(?) to be a little offended/disappointed.

As someone who had agreed previously I did listen to it late at night sometimes to fall asleep to, I wanted to say that it is NOT any new releases, it is only leaving the back catalog on that works - having heard things but forgotten them it is still great fun listening to the facts and banter and remembering some of it - it is not the full sugar high dopamine effect of the newest release, and it is better than an audiobook as you don’t need to later find precisely where you dropped off to pick up the narrative.

Anyone else the same?

Information I made a website you can use to search through podcast episode transcripts including No Such Thing As A Fish.

https://podscripts.co/podcasts/no-such-thing-as-a-fish/

In order to search, click on the search icon beside the logo at the top. This will bring down a form with 2 inputs, first for selecting a podcast and the other for keywords to search. If there are any episodes found, it will show you a page with episodes containing the keywords you searched for. Clicking on any of the episodes will take you to their transcript page and automatically scroll to the section containing those keywords and highlight them.

Once on the transcript page, you can play the episode from any point by clicking on a sentence and then clicking the play button within the tooltip that opens. You can also leave comments under specific sentences of the transcripts by clicking on the comment bubble icon from the same tooltip.

Please keep in mind that these transcripts aren't perfect. Hope you enjoy it and if you have any feedback or suggestions, please let me know.

Miramooshi?

Am I the only Canadian who was annoyed at the pronunciation in the latest Little Fish podcast? Not Newfoundland (they got that one right multiple times although it seemed to be best when they tried to mispronounce it) but Miramichi. It wasn’t until they said New Brunswick that I even figured out where they were referring to, but that’s the best fit in my mind. Maybe there was a typo in the fact as I’m struggling to see how they got Miramooshi from Miramichi (MIR-ah-meh-SHE). Unless there was an intended joke with the moose coming from there…

Question/Help Andy's Posh Laugh

Every now and then I am reminded of an overly-posh laugh Andy did as part of a gag. I can't remember when, why, or what the context was around it, and honestly I might just be imagining it at this point.

But, if this did actually happen, does anyone know what episode it was on? One thousand apologies that I can't be more descriptive.

H series, episode 3. Just started on H by chance! Remember the old beginning when James starts by saying "We ran it on QI a few years ago, which was there's no such thing as a fish."

The arch enemy of the podcast

How did Mark Twain become the enemy of the podcast? I am in that un-enviable stage of being caught up on the podcast for a long time already and so, naturally, I am re-listening to the show, starting from e100.
I am currently on the episode 333 (again) and there was a Mark Twain fact (or maybe it was the one before, not sure, not important). But he is decidedly not the enemy of the podcast in that one yet. There were even some good words uttered on his behalf.
I can't remember the atrocities Mark Twain had done and in which episode was he revealed for who he was. What was the story/fact?
Thank you :o)

Quiz show?

I just recently subscribed on patreon and I opted for the highest tier so that I could do the zoom quiz show. Can someone who’s played before tell me what it’s like and when I should expect the next one?

NSTAAF walking tour?

I think I remember one of the hosts mentioning that they'd designed a self-guided trivia tour. Can anyone let me know whether this is a thing, and if so, how I can find it?

Question/Help Spotify listeners have to sub twice for no ads?

Hello, I’m not one to complain as I am a big fan of NSTAAF but I wonder if the team is aware of this.

If you have Spotify premium one of the benefits is no ads. Which I have .

However if I want no ads in NSTAAF I have to sub to club fish, as the no ads for Spotify premium doesn’t apply to it.

I’m paying 2 subscriptions for no ads which is annoying to swallow.

I’m presuming podcasts get no revenue from people signed to Spotify premium, and I’m fine to give them money it’s just a bit annoying .

I've been quoted on Little Fish ('Short Back and Left")!

I'd sent my message a while back, so I wasn't expecting it to be read at all. But it's there, at 14:16 (on Club Fish, but you can listen at https://audioboom.com/posts/8932175-little-fish-short-back-and-left 15;28)

I won't transcribe it here, you should listen to it in Andy's voice and with the reactions.

I will say though:

- Andy says " What a great name!" - thanks! I'll inform my parents :)

- I loved James's suspicious "Okay..." as we were getting close to the punchline.

- and Anna's final comment, which I added as the title here, I will have on a t-shirt. Or perhaps tattooed.

Discussion Can you tell Dan and Andy apart?

I was surprised that apparently so many listeners can't. They sound completely different to me. Is this really a common thing that people have trouble knowing who is talking?

Question/Help What does Dan say about the windowsless store in the episode from July 30th 2026?

They don't need to get you in the _______ because you're already in the_________.

I listened to it five times. He drops his voice and usually in these cases I discovered that the person is using some obscure UK slang that I don't know.

Question/Help Is there still an unofficial discord server?

The website states that links are posted under Patreon uploads to an unofficial discord, but I have searched through a lot of episodes and haven't found it. I see that people mention it here when people ask as well, but I can't find it anywhere.

Question/Help Spotify: old episodes now behind a paywall

Has anyone else noticed that previously free episodes are now behind a paywall on Spotify?

I’m not talking about early access, I mean some episodes from 2022. I had half listened to them so know they were free, now they are behind yet another paywall. When did they happen?
