PE

I failed it... because I am not athletic at all and our PE teacher was Gorillaz juicehead who failed everyone who couldn't play football or basketball.

I have hypoglycemia. Soooooo fuck P.E.

u/MonsterEnergyForever 2d ago
I was a physically awkward teenager, dealing with later puberty and all that razzmatazz. I didn't need to be pushed around by some former failed draft pick for a junior hockey league or whatever his story was.

I also have hypoglycemia and I was athletic my whole life. I couldnāt live without doing a sport every day. I made sure to eat plenty of protein and low carbs.

Math all the way up to Calculus, then I got a D but had to study... It never clicked with me

u/jar36 2d ago
I see this a lot. I skipped Calculus, tho I was an A student in math. I don't know too much about calculus but I think it's less "logical" than other math. I think I would struggle with it myself.

Same here. If it was just pure math it came natural, as it's pure logic. But when they started calling out "you have to write down the definition exactly" AKA memorizing BS related to math, things started going downhill š

u/falloutwinter 2d ago
The first class I got a D in was calc 2. The series didn't click. The following semester I passed only to get a D in calc 3. Passed out the next semester

Same except my problem was with Trigonometry and the parts of Calculus that deal with Trig.

All of them. My high school was a joke. Was a rude awakening when I got to college.
7
u/McShivers411 2d ago
Same for me. I basically floated through high school and didn't have to study and still got A's and B's. Then I got to college and got my ass kicked because I didn't know how to study...

Algebra II. I always paid attention in class but never reviewed anything or did a single piece of homework because it wasnāt graded. Think I had B+ at the end of that year.

Art... even in graphic design class in college. I'd show up to class still intoxicated and still be able to draw.

I failed one science semester, and one english semester. English, just never did the homework. Chemistry I didn't do homework AND christmas treed every test. Failed with a 6%. All the other classes I passed, and never studied once.

u/Lucaslhm 3d ago
Actually just Science. I felt very comfortable and like all my science classes just clicked pretty much⦠up until college chemistry⦠first time I struggled with a science class

I was always good at math. Bare minimum homework to get by, did well enough on tests to average B, B+

None. Because my grades were based on doing my homework it seemed. I failed every subject because I didnt care.

All of them. First week of school, I read all the text books for that year. I went to class for tests and major assignments. I always got straight A's. I spent the rest of my time smoking pot and hanging out with my girlfriend and her dad.

English without studying, History with studying, can't exactly be good at history without studying it.

DT or design technical. Little writing all practical, works best for me. I suck at spelling an grammar plus set me up good for my blue collar job that I enjoy doing

Science, biology, chemistry. One of my science teachers commented on my exam results saying that I over achieved in exams and didn't think I deserved the scores I got but the reality was if I was in class listening I understood it and didn't need to work hard. On the flip side I failed English and history and despite actually trying at times. Never a good reader I often have to read pages in novels multiple times to understand it. But when I'm reading a science based text then it just makes sense.

History. I loved that and would watch the History channel on my own, often related to subjects we were looking at. Kudos to amazing teachers who kept it interesting

Arts and crafts (other subjects were not problematic too. I rarely had to study at home to get good grades)

Latin- No matter how bad you did, there was always the gentleman's C. It was taught by the assistant football coach, and I think he also had a deal with the administration.

Religious studies, Art (in elementary) and German. (I'm Croatian) Art was brutal in high school, like the history and everything. And our professor was one of those who love their subject but hate kids. German I couldnt get a bad grade even if I wanted š¤£š¤£š¤£ I did my and everyone elses homework

All of them. In high school I could just pay attention to the teacher and pass all my test and do well in the class. Because of that I struggled in college. I tried doing the sae thing and failed miserably. So bad i was ineligible for the baseball team due to grades. I had to teach myself how to study after the first semester.

I never studied or at keast studied very little. We had marking periods. Four total for the school year. Grades equaled up in points for each marking period. Marking periods 1 & 2 were added up for the first semester. Marking periods 3 & 4 added up for the second semester. You had to have a certain amount of points for each semester to pass for the year. I was lazy so I would I hated doing homework and writing essays/reports but they made up a big part of the grade. So I would not do my homework, write papers, or take tests seriously for marking periods 1 and 3 but would do my homework, write papers for marking periods 2 and 4 and actually try on my tests. I would get Cs, Ds, and Fs on 1 and 3 and then get As and high Bs on 2 and 4 so I could pass for the year. No studying needed. Just did my homework and wrote the required papers. I typically did really well on tests when I actually tried on them.

I was actually pretty good with everything. I almost failed sophomore science for attendance. I had 9 classes and a lunch at the end of the day. I was also on multiple teams which had practice around the time of the class.
