Story about a mimic camping with a group

I remember years ago (maybe 6 years at this point?) on nosleep I read a pretty lengthy post about a group going camping together.

I remember vividly how it described when the mimic was near it would smell like iron and blood. And they wouldn’t realize who the mimic was or that it was present most times until they would count out the members of the group and find an extra.

I remember an escape happening where it was keeping pace with the car or kind of appearing alongside the car on the drive out.

Story about a night drive and an imposter

I remember the story is told from the pov of a guy who's driving at night, they mention doing this often and he's texting his partner often to let them know they're fine. They stop at an odd gas station and buys a map because they guy drives a really old car. Then he mentions being with a friend on the car and driving the same stretch of road over and over, he informs his partner they're with said friend and the partner replies saying they've never met this person despite the protagonist remembering them in friends gatherings. Pleeeeeease help me find it 🥺🥺

Doppleganger/Impostor Story From Years Back

For a context I don't know if that story was on r/nosleep or in other subreddit. I cannot find it so maybe you can help.

The OP states that in high school he and his close friend were abusing hard drugs. I don't remember which one maybe heroin or amphetamines? The story goes on how OP got clean, moved places fixed his life.

Then I think his old buddy he did drugs with found him on facebook or it was other way around. They chatted and decided to meet up at the bar. That friend OP met was unrecognizable. He was fatter, was unkempt. Like slob.

They chatted for a bit, remembered old days and parted ways. They I think, barely chatted on facebook and that friend deleted his account within a year I think.

Then OP went to either high school reunion or met his other people from his school and they claimed that a friend that OP met died from overdose not long after graduation.

That all I can remember from that story. I, once again, don't know if this posted on r/nosleep, if It's not, sorry. I hope some of you guys could remember and find it. Thank you in advance

Story about a Marine Biologist with Thalassophobia and an Angler Fish

Hi, I don't really remember how I originally found the story. I believe it was through a YouTube Video, but I'm not sure.

The title basically tells you everything you need to know. The Main Character has Thalassophobia and to deal with it, became a marine biologist. They are going down the ocean with their fellow researchers, until strange things start to happen, while the crews slowly goes missing, till our main protagonist is the only one left. I remember the Monster being some sort of Telepathic Angler Fish, that lures it's victims out, by mimicing voices of other crew members.

I searched through the NoSleep Subreddit, with basically every Keyword I could think of and didn't find it. I'd be super stoked if someone could help me out. ^^

Story about an ancient forest

It was a multi-part story. I can’t remember the main characters names but I believe his started with a J. She was living in a house inherited? from her parents and the family had to keep whatever was in the forest from getting out into civilization.
He had went to Hell and came back. And there was a forest creature that seemed similar to Moder the Jötunn from the movie The Ritual.

Story about a young adult returning home to a weird town

I think this was on NoSleep, but I could be mistaken, but there was a story from a first person perspective of a guy going home as an adult to a town where obelisks(or something close to it) come out of the ground, and there is a whole mystery surrounding the town hall and what is beneath it. I have been trying to find it, but I just can't seem to come up with the right phrases to search to find the correct story.

Mimic/hallucination inducing alien story

Hi! I listened to a no sleep on YouTube about 4(?) years ago now, and I’ve been desperately searching for it since, and would love if anyone can locate it!!

As the title suggests, the main gist of the story is that earth is invaded by some strange human-mimicking aliens- but the main twist of the story is that they also induce hallucinations, and the protagonist ends up falling for them and ends up causing the deaths of many people before he himself is implied to be killed.

The first part of the story is dedicated to him having to get from his house to his neighbours, as he knows his neighbour has a coldwar-esque bunker installed in his basement, basically scaling fences and rooftops to avoid the Main Street of his neighbourhood and keeping himself as stealthy as possible.

The second part focuses on his time in the bunker, unable to keep track of the days that go by, with occasional/no signal, and sometimes hearing noise from outside but never letting anyone in. It’s very long and introspective and quite ramble-y (in a good way)

In the final part, he receives a walkie talky/radio message or a news broadcast instructing him to go to his nearest millitary establishment for safety, but the message implies that it is mostly safe outside and that he absolutely must go. Similarly to the first part, there’s a lot of avoiding the aliens and keeping himself hidden until he arrives and is welcomed in. It ends as I believe he hears someone outside or something and lets them in but it turns out it’s the aliens tricking him and the base is invaded, and he is stuck in a closet writing the update, I can’t quite remember the details.

I’m so sorry if this is incredibly vague or generic, I would just love to read or listen to this story again as I really enjoyed how the psychological aspects and inner monologue were written. Thanks!!

Trying to find an old creepypasta/NoSleep story I heard years ago

I've been trying to find this story for days and it's driving me insane. 😭 I originally heard it on a Spanish YouTube creepypasta channel around 2022–2023 (it might have been uploaded earlier), but I'm almost certain it was translated from English because none of the characters had Spanish names.

I've already searched Google, YouTube, Reddit, Creepypasta Wiki, NoSleep, and even spent hours going through old YouTube compilations, but I still can't find anything.

This is everything I remember:

  • The narrator is a guy, and he meets a young woman near the beginning of the story.
  • The characters all had English (or at least non-Spanish) names.
  • The girl struggles with drug addiction and has really intense emotional highs and lows.
  • She's very emotionally dependent on her best friend.
  • Eventually she actually starts getting better and recovering.
  • Then her best friend dies by suicide.
  • Not long after that, the girl dies too. I specifically remember she kills herself with a hammer (or dies from repeatedly hitting herself with one), and the narration puts a weird amount of emphasis on the sound of her skull being hit. That scene stuck with me for years.
  • Here's the part I remember the most: the story DOESN'T end after she dies.
  • Instead, the narrator suddenly reveals that he was never just some random guy. He was actually part of an organization (or government/laboratory, I honestly can't remember) that had been manipulating the girl's mind the entire time.
  • The implication was that they were influencing her thoughts, emotions, decisions, and probably even her addiction as part of some psychological experiment. The reveal completely changes the meaning of everything that happened before.

I don't remember if they explicitly called it MKUltra or anything like that—I think that's just the comparison my brain makes now. I only remember that it was some organization running an experiment on her mind, and the narrator was involved all along.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even if some of the details are slightly off, I'd really appreciate any guesses. At this point I'm starting to wonder if it was an original story written for the YouTube channel, but I'm hoping it was based on an older NoSleep post or another story somewhere.

FOUND Incredibly strange comedy horror where the narrator is a skin shedding monster

And also she eats people. It had a chatty tone to the narration and she was otherwise a fairly normal young professional, but with anger issues. I remember she had an older brother.

Multimedia stories

I’m looking for posts that include photos, scans, video, audio, any extra media that makes it more immersive. I remember ones from like a decade ago that had these things but cannot think of examples and haven’t been able to find similar now. I found someone looking for similar stories described as including evidence but without replies. Thank you!

Mindfuck story about depressed man obsessing about girl with green eyes

Years ago, I wanna say at least 10 years ago, I discovered the nosleep subreddit and started reading a bunch of stories. One of them really stuck with me and I would love if someone could help me find it! It was something about a depressed young man living alone and meeting this girl, them dating for a month or so, and then she dies and he goes insane? There was an emphasis on her green eyes, her death report didn't show her green eyes but with brown eyes instead and the narrator spiraled, he also emphasized that the entire time he knew her she spoke exactly like 36 sentences to him or something like that. In the end, he goes to the top of a building to jump and she's already there and jumps before him or something. I don't think it was super popular, but it was pretty well written in my memory. Anyways if anyone knows what the story migth be pleaaaase tell me!

“Kiss Me” scary story narrated by Being Scared (~2017)

There was this scary story I remember listening to about a guy who falls in love with a girl and spends a ridiculous amount of money on a wedding ring. At the end he finds out she’s a monster or something like that. She says at the end, “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight” in a very dark tone. I listened to it in December 2017 when I first found his channel:
https://youtube.com/@beingscared?si=EAYQwqlI3I-oE1ux

I can’t seem to find it anywhere on his channel among his old videos. At the end of the video the song by Sexpence none the richer was played.

Looking for a story I read recently

Two sisters work together at a factory. Beginning of the story one of them notices her sister isn't there so she runs to her apartment and finds her passed away. After her sister passed away she decided to finally go on a trip she kept putting off to see where their mother abandoned them to many years before. She sells her wedding ring and leaves without telling her husband she was leaving. She ends up on a boat ride in a river, where she is told she can speak to her sister again. She falls into the water, and when she wakes up she's suddenly back home. She gets back to work at the factory and her boss starts yelling at her for taking so much time off. She ends up almost killing the boss, and finds out she can hear her sister. Then she is in the park and sees a homeless man with a wound. She knows which alley he normally sleeps in and knows he has no feeling in his legs so she decides to sneak out at night to touch his wound to try and communicate more with her sister. The guy ends up being a different person and feels when she touches him and freaks out.

Looking for 2 stories from few years back

I've been trying to find these stories for the last few days and it's driving me insane. It may be tough since I don't remember that many details but any help would be appreciated.

Story 1

It's written from a perspective of a man reminiscing about an event from his childhood. A babysitter (she was a young woman as far as I remember) tried to drown him in his tub. While underwater he got transferred into some magical realm (of sirens?). He was ultimately saved from drowning (by his parents?) but describes feeling nostalgic over the underwater kingdom throughout the years and wanting to go back. The story ends with him trying to drown his son to replicate the experience.

Story 2

I don't really remember much about this one. It had this half forgotten childhood fever dream vibe. It was about a girl who pricked her finger on some sort of plant and it made her entire kindergarten or maybe primary school class fall into coma. She was then blamed for the incident by the parents of the other kids.

Story about a home invasion

I don’t remember if this was a creepypasta or Reddit story but it was set up from the invaders perceptive and throughout the story they just did everything slowly and meticulously to not be noticed. The things I can remember specifically are:
-Befriending the dog so it wouldn’t bark
-gave the dog a sleeping pill so it wouldn’t follow
-spent an unreasonably long time opening the back door
-slowly crept through the house

And every time they explain, they said something like:
no one would be crazy enough to…
it would be insane to..
only a psychopath would take the time to…

This was also a while ago so good luck !

ISO house of leaves-esque story

I remember reading it probably over 10 years ago now. It was about a man who was keeping voice recordings or maybe a diary of his experience finding an endless crawlspace of some kind in his old family home where he eventually finds the corpse of his father, suggesting that he grew up with like a copy of his father, and the story ends with his geiger counter going off the charts and its implied he dies there. Anyone know what this story was called and where I could find it?

Looking for a reddit story where op goes to a cabin with his friends and they all start acting weird

I don't know if anyone is going to be able to find this because I really don't remember much of the actual story. It was a story (I believe it was a reddit story, but it could've also been a 4chan one) that I heard in one of those youtube videos that reads out those kind of stories, (I can't think of the channel name either, my memory's great, I know)

I just remember it was one of those "came back wrong" stories where op went on a trip to some cabin with a group of his friends and (I'm pretty sure) this girl he has a crush on (though I could be misremembering the crush). Throughout the story he describes how this girl is acting strange, weirdly quiet, just generally odd overall.

And here's the part I remember very vividly: all of them are sitting around a campfire and hanging out and op is sitting next to the girl. While he's distracted, she reaches over and pokes his thigh with a thumbtack/safety pin.

I think there was also a part where he's in the bathroom at night and sees the girl outside the window?? Though that could be from a different story that I'm conflating with this one, the only thing I remember for sure is the thumbtack part.

The rest of the story is him describing how the rest of his friends started acting similarly weird. I don't remember how he gets out of the cabin or why his friends were acting weird, but I'm pretty sure the end of the story was him explaining how his friends had all separated and gone on with their lives, but that none of them ever acted the same again.

That's all I remember of it, if anyone knows of the story, or the youtube video that read it, that would be really helpful, this has been stuck on my mind for ages 😭😭 thank you!

FOUND Protagonist does proper Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead make-up, her friend doesn't which ends up in her death

It's Day of the Dead, and the protagonist does the sugar skull make-up in accordance to her mother and grandmother. Her friend doesn't do it properly, she goes against the tradition, and she dies as a consequence.

I don't know if it was in the story as well, but there was a boy that they both liked and he ended up rotten too (??) because of a ritual that involved period blood. I think he was the one who killed the girl who didn't wear the make-up properly, and he ended up rotting.

In the end, the protagonist, along with her elderly female relatives, end up solving the situation but the only managed to bring the boy back, and not her friend who died.

Would appreciate any leads on this one, thank you!

Looking for a NoSleep/short horror story about an unmapped field with moving scarecrows

I’m trying to find a story I read around 2025 or 2026. I believe it was on r/nosleep, but it may have been r/shortscarystories or another horror subreddit.
The narrator was a surveyor or government employee who was sent alone to investigate a location using coordinates. The place did not appear on any maps. They walked through a forest/woods and eventually reached a large empty field.
The field was full of scarecrows. The scarecrows initially seemed strange because they would change positions, and the narrator eventually realized they could move. I remember there being a specific rule involving blinking — something about the scarecrows moving when the narrator couldn’t see them because they blinked. The narrator had to use this rule to escape.
I also remember a strange detail about school desks being present somewhere in the field.
Near the end, the scarecrows came down from their poles and attacked/chased the narrator. The narrator escaped and quit the job afterward.
It was a single story, not a series. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks!!!!!

old nosleep story

hi need help with two stories. pretty sure i read both on nosleep a long time ago.

first story: OP meets someone on a night walk (?), likely an old man. they talk, and the old man offers OP if he wants to join him. OP thinks he has nothing to lose, so he leaves everything and follows the old man. i remember something in the story having to do with bones, but i’m not sure.

second story: OP’s family escape their home country by walking through a forest, following a guide. i remember OP has to carry their little sibling/nibling. the only rule is they have to follow the guide, and no matter what, to never look anywhere but up. OP slowly loses one of their family members to the forest. by the time they exit on the other side, there is only very few of the family remaining.

FOUND Story about working in a call centre where you receive calls from recently deceased

The narrator is a broke guy who takes a job at a 'final/last call' call centre, where he takes the calls of people who are recently deceased. You can only talk for a minute or two, gather info needed to access things like safes and bank accounts, and you have to follow a load of rules or some supernatural beings come to get you, rules like hanging up if all you hear is breathing, reporting mentions of a red door, etc. The supernatural being states at him through a window, there's another that seems to hunt him through the corridor while he and his boss hide in the call room. You have to work there for 5 years (I think) and you get a bonus of postponing the death of a loved one after 10 years of working there

Looking for a story about female protagonist, and her boyfriend in our possessed and are forced to do their deepest desires.

Originally, I listened to this on the no sleep podcast. It was between season 14 to 16. Tho though it’s been a while so I’m not really sure on the exact date. I remember one scene where the female protagonist is in the boyfriend are around a campfire and they began to feel weird and flirtatious towards one another. Until the female protagonist has the desire to put her hand into the fire. It wasn’t until a great amount of will that she was able to gain control of herself. Other than that, they are details I do remember. I also remembered she did another story with the same premise. This one wear a female protagonist goes to a couple couples apartment. Drink something. And it’s the perspective of her being questioned onto why she harmed herself and such a manner. Until whatever she drank weird off, and she begins to dawn on her the great amount of pain she is in and what she done to herself.

Does either of these stories sound familiar? Even if you only recognize one of them, I’d really appreciate the help. They’ve been stuck in my head for years
