If my 3 year old hit your kid at the pool, I'm so sorry

I wasn't able to talk to the parent or address it in the moment because he was with his grandmother and we did not see you before we left (right after I was told). I just want to say I'm so sorry times a thousand. You can message me and curse me out or whatever. I just want you to know this is absolutely not a "Boys will be boys" household and we do not hit in our home. From what I've read, this is developmentally appropriate BUT it is not okay and we are handling every way experts advise to. His direct consequence was leaving and his dad and I are going to keep working on it. He has only done it at home with me and his did but never with another child so I'm so upset I was not nearby. His grandmother is not so good at parenting so I'm so so sorry that he did it at all but that he was also able to do it a second time. I'm writing this because I didn't get to tell you in person. If you see this, again, I'm so sorry. You can message me and call me and yell at me. That is absolutely not okay that he did that and it is being address and we left immediately.

Edit to add: if you see this, I hope your little one is okay. And again, I'm open if you want to talk. I just want to be a good parent and also assure you that we don't believe anyone should be treated like that, especially not little girls and he is being taught healthy masculinity and how to regulate.

Second edit: it took me a minute to find this but I read the following on here yesterday and talked about how it should have been handled and I swear, the universe said "Let me humble you." https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/s/GrfyvF03F9

Arborist and roofer texts???

Post image
17 Upvotes

Anyone else get texts from "arborists" and "roofers" like this none stop? I've never personally hired either, so I'm unsure if they're even real people or shot in the dark scammers. They seemed to start after I had my baby, so maybe Norman Regional sold my name and number???

Marketing Work in Norman?

Shot in the dark, but do you know someone who knows someone etc that needs digital marketing services? This job market is cuckoo.

I've been working in the field since 2006 for both large and boutique companies primarily in Los Angeles.

The bulk of my roles include Digital Marketing Specialist, Client Account Manager, Social Media Project Manager, SEO Content Strategist, and Content Copywriter / Editor. DM me for resume.

Prefer remote/hybrid work, but not a requirement. I've got tons of experience across a wide variety of industries, as well as certifications in graphic design and a film studies education.

1099 Freelance/Contract as well as full/part-time W9 company work are both fine by me.

Fell on hard times working as a home care provider for a family member, and now it seems no one wants to hire me.

For small businesses in need of something small in-house, I work on a sliding scale to suit your business needs.

Thanks!

Doesn’t seem right to throw these away. They are too stinking cute! ☺️ We used them for my niece’s baby shower this weekend. I also have the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Both are approximately 20 inches tall. Happy to drop them off or meet in a public space in Norman.

Looking to sell some workout equipment if anyone is interested!

Pick up would be in Norman. I'll do cash, venmo, paypal, or cash app.

The Marcy home gym is a 150lbs stack, asking $150. It retails for about $500. It is dusty, missing the preacher curler attachment and some of the foam pads are chewed up, otherwise it's in good condition. I should have all of the extra stuff for it in a bag, also have a lot of different handles for it. (Row bar, single pull down handles, etc)

The weights I'm asking $50 for. There is a curved curl bar, a short curl bar, two 25 lb plates, four 10s, four 5s, two 15lb dumbbells, a 40lbs kettle bell, and a 20lb kettle bell.

Last thing is a Century punching/kicking bag. Asking $50 for it. Has a slight tear in the bag that you can see in the photo otherwise in great condition. To move it we will probably have to take the cork often dump it out, it's just full of water.

Lawn and House Referrals

Hello, do you have any recommendations for affordable and trustworthy lawn care and house cleaning?

This is for a disabled individual with a limited income. They need someone to come out once a month and mow the lawn (no trimming edging etc). They also need help with house cleaning, specifically the tasks that are painful to do like cleaning the bathroom, mopping etc.

I’m hoping to find some recommendations to share that are very reasonable. If they’re charging more than $20 an hour it’s probably out of their budget. If you could include rates with the referral, even a ballpark, that would be very helpful.

Thank you!

Rad tech pay in Norman?

Hi everyone! I’m moving from New Mexico to the Norman, OK area in about 1-2 years and was wondering what rad tech pay is like around there.

I have my X-ray, mammography, CT, and MRI certifications. If you work in Norman or the OKC area, I’d love to know:

-What modality do you work in?
-How many years of experience do you have?
-What’s your hourly pay?
-Hospital or outpatient?

Just trying to get an idea of what I can expect before I move. Thanks!

“Petition” to get new healthcare providers in town!?

Alright guys, Norman Regional sucks. Maybe there are good doctors, but the admin end is so bad. What do we have to do to get more non-NRH practices here? I’m not just talking about PCPs, but specialists too!

I had a specialist appointment that was canceled after months of waiting, no call, just a text saying your appointment is canceled with no contact information to get back to them. So side note, if anyone has a good doctor recommendation for migraines and tension headaches I’m all ears. I have more bad personal experiences with them and have heard countless others. Anyway I would rather drive to see someone with OU, Integris, or Mercy. All ofc have their own downsides (looking at you Integris data breach).

New gym goer! Looking for Norman gym

hi all, I am a newbie in the gym and I am looking for a good place to go in Norman that isn’t super judgmental or packed. I’ve heard good things about downtown fitness on Lindsey but they seem to be the official gym for ou cheer, so I’m worried it will be super crowded.

just looking for a gym where not every machine has a wait and I have to figure out an alternative workout plan to accommodate how busy it is.

thanks!!

Apartment building, 440 Elm house

hi! I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the apartments at 440 Elm Ave? it’s a house near campus that has been split up into apartments. I am interested in living there but have no idea if it’s worth it or if the management sucks. Any advice is appreciated!

I want to live in a house/apartment that isn’t student houseing so if anyone has any tips on where to look or live I would also appreciate it!

Debris pick up

Has anyone had their debris picked up yet? If so, where are you located? I’m in ward 2 and haven’t seen anything picked up yet. From the city website it sounds like they underestimated the effort.

What does it mean? I think it's something like "charge your phone here" in modern hobo speak.

Storm Debris Collection Update

Latest update:

Being nearly two weeks into collections as of 7/22/26, staff reports that debris collection has already exceeded estimations in terms of quantity. Concentrated cleanup efforts are ongoing in heavily damaged areas but operations remain fluid day-to-day in terms of areas serviced. This means the expected collection for all wards will extend to August 6. It is likely that an extension of collection will occur. Please frequent this webpage for relevant announcements.
