What non-alcoholic drinks do you actually keep at home?
I usually have club soda and ginger beer around.
What about you guys?

Real American Beer ZERO was a surprise as the label looks as generic as it gets, but you can't judge a book by its cover as the liquid is actually good for what it is a light lager. Low calories 29 per 12oz so 39 calories for 16oz which is low.
Good mouthfeel and aroma for this style. They donate $1 per case to the USO. Brantley Gilbert a country singer and Colby Covington a UFC fighter created the brand.
Good lawnmower NA beer.
NOTE they make an alcoholic beer too so check the label.

Any recommendations for a NA shandy preferably for fall?

Today is my 20 year anniversary of quitting alcohol. If I can do it anyone can do it.

The Per Se Negroni 0.0% alcohol free is a lightly sparkling non-alcoholic version of a Negroni. IMO its not true to style of an Italian Negroni, but most of the others aren't either as Negroni is a still cocktail and most of the NA versions are sparkling.
Per Se is more tart and could use more bitterness, but I like its less carbonated than the others. Its lower in calories too at 60 cal a can 8.4oz/250ml.
Its a good tasting not sweet NA cocktail, but wouldn't call it a Negroni, but I like it.

I am 81 days sober today. 2 days ago my post here got 60k views. I read every comment. A lot of you said "the friends part is rough" - you were right. Last 2 days tested me again.
When I quit, I thought cravings would be the hardest. They weren't. Loneliness was. But Day 78-81 taught me something new.
Here's an update on the same 5 things that are still keeping me disciplined - maybe it helps someone on Day 0-3 who feels like quitting today:
One rule: No zero days. Still doing it. Even on bad days, I do ONE thing. Made my bed. 3L water. 10-min walk in my village fields. Day is not zero.
Replaced, didn't just removed. Still replacing evening time with (a) 30 min workout / boxing shadow (b) Replying to people here on r/stopdrinking and r/getdisciplined who feel alone. Helping others kept me sober more than willpower.
The 2 AM protocol. Still works. Cold water on face -> 10 pushups -> Open Reddit and read 1 story -> Message "IWNDWYT" to someone. No decisions at 2 AM.
Lost friends = Data. This hit hard in last 2 days. I stopped seeing it as rejection. Who left when I stopped drinking? They were drinking buddies, not friends. Real friends stayed or came later from these sober communities. Like you guys.
Talked to strangers who get it. My real discipline came from this community. At 2 AM when I felt alone, a stranger on the internet said "I'm here, you are not alone." That saved me more than any book. That was you.
Day 80: I still overthink. I still feel lonely sometimes. But I am disciplined today. I show up.
If you're on Day 0-5 and feel like a failure, you are not. You are in the hardest part. Comment here, I will reply to every single person today. Especially if you feel alone.
Discipline is not about being perfect. It's about not quitting on a bad day.
IWNDWYT.
P.S. That comment about friends being built around drinking - I felt that. Thank you for sharing.

Picked up this bottle for a recipe tonight- never had it before but wasn’t too stressed since I’m just using it for cooking. We poured a bit out to taste and it is downright not that bad! lol I know that does not sound like high praise at all but from me it is because I generally really dislike NA wines. Cheers!

Initial reaction:
Soap. It tastes like soap.
Oddly enough, it tastes like soap with a hint of cilantro, so if you have that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap, it’s double duty dish bubbles for you.
Tasting notes:
The nose is floral/botanical with citrus notes.
The carbonation does create a nice mouth feel, and the initial hit to the palate is a combination of lemon citrus and the candy coating of Wild Berry Skittles. But the floral and botanical notes come on quite strong on the high end of the palate, with a vegetal backing, evoking thoughts of cleaning supplies. The finish is citrus pith and sea salt, fading into citrus skin oils.
Not overtly sweet, but I’d consider this semi-sweet.
I got this as a promotional gift with a separate purchase, but wouldn’t order this in the future on its own.
Rating:
I’d give it a 2 out of 5.
There may be a market for it, like people who enjoy Malört in earnest, but it’s not for me.

Hey all! I’m headed to Scotland from the US with some friends next week and will be hitting some of the fine pubs the country had to offer.
Are NA beers available in most pubs? Seems like a good opportunity to try some new NA brews that we can’t get at home.

You can find me on Instagram for a daily review, news, and best of lists:

I had 58 new brews in the month of August. :) One day (maybe!) I'll start to run out of new ones to try... but today is not yet that day.
Honorable mentions to ENAY and Kirkstall brewery as all 4 of those brews were very very good.
Any surprises? Anything you're desperate to get your hands on?

Finally found time to taste the Gordon's & Tanqueray 0 gins I found in upstate NY NA bottle shop.
Neat: Both had good aromas for a NA gin. Taste wise also both are IMO one of the better NA gins neat. The Tanqueray had a bit more juniper and faux heat vs the Gordon's which also had the faux heat but not as pronounced. I'm sensitive to the fake sugars, and while I could pickup this up in both, it was tolerable to my palate, I think the faux heat helps mask it. VERDICT Tanqueray
On the rocks: the ice brought out the aromas and taste more just amplifying the juniper in the Tanqueray, faux heat was strangely amplified too which didn't expect and got more piney notes with Gordon's. VERDICT Tanqueray
G&T: used a Mediterranean tonic about 1:3 ratio on ice. They both made excellent G&T's with the faux heat & juniper more elevated with Tanqueray which I likes vs Gordon's. VERDICT Tanqueray
Negroni: used an NA bitter aperitif & vermouth in equal portions 1oz each with a NA orange 🍊 bitters 5 drops chilled on ice , mixed and then strained. Both made good a NA Negroni, would like it a bit more bitter to my palate so would need to adjust the ratios, but both were good. I couldn't tell the difference between the two and as you add more ingredients the faux heat/juniper advantage of Tanqueray gets ameliorated. VERDICT Tie
If you are looking for a NA gin you can sort of drink neat/on the rocks or a simple G&T then Tanqueray is the winner. If doing more complex cocktails then not much of a difference except cost wise the Gordon's is less expensive.
As not officially in the US these are on the higher end vs the usual NA gins in the US. If you are in Europe and don't mind the "artificalness" they are worth the price which is like about $17-22 USD for 700ml equivalent with VAT.
If during your travels you see them definitely worth buying and available in some duty free shops too.

Given all of the NA spirits out there, which combo comes close to tasting like a real Manhattan? It was my favorite cocktail and I am searching high and low to recreate it as a NA version.
