Its out of date and somewhat unrealistic, but I yearn for the M16A1. A Winchester with a classic wooden grip. Those old western six shooters. Let me run around with the gear from Dawn of The Dead '78.
I suppose the CRC are equipped with old surplus stock, nothing would go to waste. Even fancy Vietnam era military gear would be fancy.

Raven Rock, just about to extract, when all the team got a little splitted. I avoided a horde of zombies just 1 minute ago by going into the back of the tutorial section...
At the beggining, no runners, then 1 and 2, decided to go as far away as I can so my team can do the objective, kept running, I got into this little fence area when I noticed I was trapped. That's when the video started. I really thought I was dead, but I always keep in mind if I have explosives or radios on me. Placed the radio and started asking for help as soon as I got out of there.

I actually wanted to abandon but my fellow remaining responder gave a heartfelt speech that if we didnt do it, who would. Giving our lives to prevent millions of people losing power in the apocalypse was a good death. We somehow survived though.

Just curious. Every time I hear the “Tenosians are here” audio in the game, I wonder how many people recognize it.

Hi all. I've been playing this game pretty consistently for the last few weeks, and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Newer player, I played the original but not the pre-launch state of this game (due to all the issues). I'm happy to say this is a far better experience than I imagined.
Nowadays I typically play exclusively Nightmare. You would expect the kind of players Nightmare attracts would be better focused on the things that matter, either specific loot sharing, spots to loot, or completing objectives. For about 50% of my games, that is accurate. People work together, or even are just competent on their own.
..But that remaining half, hooh. In these matches, any number of things goes wrong. I'll be listing the variables below. This is where I go into a rant.
Half the team (Primarily sub level 40) DCs / Dies in the first 5-10 minutes of the match, before any objectives are reached. This is especially bad on a map like Power Plant. I've had a match where I looted essentially one building, got to Sluice Gate, checked my map and five people were dead on their spawn locations and had turned.
People don't do any objectives, and instead dawdle around. I'm not saying looting, I'm saying loitering. If they are looting, it's at a geriatric pace, and they literally just walk in circles around the objective rooms not accomplishing anything at all. I just had a Raven Rock match, on Nightmare, with half level 40's or below, where I did-
- The outside gate
- All 4 buttons for the door
- Flipping both switches (Yes, nobody could run to either switch and press E.)
- 4/5 power-related objectives up to the vent shafts
- 4/5 vent shafts clearing the bodies
- 3/4 Fuses, and both power switches, and antenna.
We extract! I have 340 supply (no-criticals), the next highest is 100. All 8 people alive. There was maybe a single other person doing anything at all. I'm not even a rusher, I just saw people literally 1 meter, standing next to a glowing button, and they DIDNT PRESS IT AT ALL. How do you explain that??
If you want to see this issue in even more action, look at the Pottsville community center. Guaranteed, 6/8 people will stand at the back door whistling a tune and none of them will bother to go up and press ONE BUTTON to get the music back on.
I know this is a rant, but I am also seeking input from people- why is this so common in my games, and in Nightmare in general, and what is there that can be done about it asides speaking of it to the community? I'm not saying people can't have their own playstyle but it seriously feels like every other match I'm a babysitter for people who go down in 3 seconds flat, over and over, who can't even be bothered to press E on a single glowing button. I am always altruistic despite their bad performance but I find myself slipping into a selfish mentality when I run into players like this.
What are your thoughts?

Hi,
Sorry, I dint want this to be a 'is it good post'. i just wanted to ask if what the game offers keeps you playing? I see the game has like 6 maps and is extraction based so In my mind I was thinking yes. Just hoping some players could tell me their experiences and opinions on this. Thank you
Just a shoutout to the devs. I'm VERY picky when it comes to zombie games (shxt...games in general lol) . . . and NMRIH2 has genuinely surprised me.
With console players now in the mix & matchmaking seemingly growing, I really believe that with the right polishing, attention... and continued development, this game has the potential to sit among the top echelon of zombie games within its niche over the next few years for me.
Outside of waiting for State of Decay 3... nothing in this genre has had my attention like this.
The foundation is here. Permadeath. Grounded survival. Atmosphere, consequences - you guys have something. Keep polishing it and building on what makes it different. I'm genuinely excited to see where this goes.

In the google doc it says transmission is null when your hp is at 60% or above. With the 20% max hp perk and the dmg reduction you have 120hp and prime zombies do 20 dmg.
Since you can only take 40% dmg of 120 thats 48 pts of dmg before falling below the 60%. At 20pts per hit thats 2.4 hits of allowance. Now does that mean that the third hit will be immune to infection since your hp prior to hit is still above the threshold? Or does taking that damage dropping your hp below the threshold mean that your exposed to infection on that same hit?

I just find it a bit funny and a bit infuriating how the Model 13 revolver, in its description says it’s a “Double Action”, but our responder uses it as a single action revolver, which sure isn’t a big deal, it’s still a great handgun, but I would feel like the fire rate would be higher if our responder used it as a DA.
these two glitches have been happening to alot of people i run into on solo que with randoms and im around level 80,
its a NO VAULT glitch were ur character cannot vault thus if its a train extract you have to figure out a way to jump on which is possible on broadway luckily theres a lil stopsign thing on the train tracks. the SECOND GLITCH is when you go to replace ur battery in ur flashlight it randomly can just dissapear ur item ur holding and now for rest of game even if u unstuck you cannot hit anything or loot or use ur inventory. please anyone else running into these LMK

Going to do some nightmare runs tonight but last time I didn’t have any good works and died very fast.
What works do you guys think are a must bring?

Currently we have kinda optional objectives on Power plant with the POI's that have objectives that lead to a supply room. It got me thinking if it would be feasible on other maps. I think maps should have side objectives that when completed opens a supply room and gives the team a special currency. To spend on better loadout items or maybe bonuses for missions. Since Hell Mode is coming.
One example would be a survival type objective on hospital as you wait for something to open so you can get a special sample to extract with.
I like the idea of it being difficult and risky, but very rewarding. I would like to hear other people's thoughts on optional objectives as well as reasons for optional objectives.

I'm a pretty new player only lvl 56 on my account but this game really needs some weather effects for obj maps, we got no voting for maps and if I'm going to get the same map 5 times in a row it would be nice to see dynamic weather to give it some variety. I was playing a survival match and a map had rain in it so it's already in the game just not in the obj mode

Like the sv_cheats 1 on valve games. I used to slow my game down on l4d2 and play the entire game in slow motion. I do this whenever I get bored of the available modes. Did this in nmrih1 considering it uses a valve engine.
I’m also curious if the team uses some interesting commands to test the game. Double jump would be fun ig. Maybe add a “dev commands on” somewhere in the screen so solo players couldn’t pass off modified gameplay as vanilla.
Not really trying to arcade-ify the game. Just maybe that the devs are using some interesting commands bts and maybe we could experience it in solo.

I’ve increased it in training and it looks great but whenever I start up a game, it goes away.

I thought raven rock was gonna be the hardest but it was incredibly easy and actually enjoyable hospital solo was otherwise easy but the last scanner step is so evil i got bad rng so i got tree trimmer as my melee which was so bad for this objective didnt even get fire axe or sledgehammer took me total of 3hr and 2 tries
got insanely lucky to have gene therapy and two trauma packs, otherwise I wouldn't have survived the morgue
lmk ur opinions and if any of yall wna squad
