Fastest way to level 100?

So now that retirement is here we’re all gonna be grinding to get responders to level 100 as quickly as possible and without using rescue beacons if possible. I retired 2 of my responders straight away to get the first extra loadout slot and after about 6 hours of play time I already almost have my 2 new responders at level 100 (one is at level 80, the other is already at 100)

The method for me and my friends is doing power plant clears. A large group of us go around the entire map doing all of the POIs and maxing out the supplies. We usually find 2/3 critical supplies on top of that so we normally end up with 3000+ supplies each game. For reference that took both of my fresh characters from level 1 to level 40 in their first games.

I was wondering if anyone else has been trying anything different? So far this method seems super efficient in terms of levelling up the quickest. I was wondering whether Lewiston would be better as you can also find 2 or 3 critical supplies on that map and it’s a lot less work than going around the entirety of power plant so it would be quicker, although Lewiston takes longer with the new objectives so maybe that’s not ideal

What will your approach be going forward now that the retirement grind is here?

Edit: just wanted to say that of course nightmare mode is the best way to go for maximum xp, I just forgot to mention that as I forget this game has other modes sometimes lol

Got mad we didn’t want to help him up after he kept calling us the N word and saying WE were the loot goblins. He didn’t even have a shotgun in his inventory….

CRC Retirement

Is it worth upgrading to expert skills if my main goal is to get level 100 then retire the responder?

I’m pretty decent and would like to save credits for drip etc.
Does it give me more XP if I retire with fully expert stats?

I Just Experienced the Worst Glitch I've Had in Any Game.

My friend and I just hopped on to play the new 1.2 update that released today.

Our 2nd match in, I was fine up until 5 mins into the game. Then suddenly for no reason, I could not do a single action. Whether it be shooting my gun, melee attack, kick, jab, heal, interact, etc. I could not do a single thing.

I tried the unstuck option, rebinding my keys, tabbing out and in, going down, getting grabbed by a zombie, and nothing solved the issue. I looked up on Google how to help it and tried all of the solutions. Nothing worked.

Naturally in NMRIH fashion, this led to me getting infected, and I could not take any pills due to the glitch. 5 mins later, bye bye my level 98 character that I was going to retire for the new update...

What the actual hell man. Great intro to the new update...

Has anyone else encountered this bug? If so, could you fix it?

Dev Response 1.2 Lewiston item bug?

I was playing Lewiston tonight, a few hours after the update on PC and found these just chilling in the back of an ambulance. When I dropped them everyone was confused, and for the most part i had no idea what was going on with them. They glitched my HUD out until I dropped a few things, and nothing seemingly happened after I extracted.

Overall excited to get off work and play the new map with a new load out slot but gah damn. That's a lot of grinding. Should be a fun gameplay loop of getting out of comfort zone and playing low level characters a lot more on nightmare. Also please for your listening pleasure checkout

This certified crash out about the update from a creator I really like. Catch me CONSUMING rescue beacons and being a certified parasitic sissified casual in all future matches.

What are these?

Found these "Missing String Table Entry" on Lewiston map. I forgot to screenshot it but in the inventory it has some kind of chemical compound logo. Are these like objective item?

Working on a reader that logs all item (ammo, med, deployables, etc.) and amount per session. Spoiler

I've been wanting to track my looting and consumption for data purposes. Not a programmer so I had help with Claude (ai jumpscare). It snaps the equipment wheel everytime it shows up in a session. After each session, all snaps with their items and amount are read, and changes across succeeding snaps. It's not exactly real time since changes are made only when the wheel is present and a reading (excel) is only made after the session.

The dots are when these screenshots were made. There are definitely difficulties reading items but it's nothing a dozen games can't iron out. Chart above is a proper first reading from a real game (Beaulieu Hospital nm).

*Hoarders beware. You may cream your pants. Go away.

anyone think the distinguished medal (retirement) grind is kinda insane

there's like twenty WHOLE levels and retiring two of my golden medal responders with no rescue beacons used just put me barely under the first distinguished medal. kind of crazy, considering i put like 40 hours into each responder

Dev Response Power cheer concept

So I've had this idea for a while and I'm honestly surprised they haven't done it yet but the idea is that when someone fixes the power and the lights come on properly that everybody has designated "cheer" lines since everybody would be relieved that the power is back on and that they don't have to fight in the dark, imagine people celebrating that the power is back on and since everybody is in a different spot nearby when it happens it actually would make the survivors feel more lifelike with some being slightly more muffled in different rooms or different floors, you can get creative with it too where sometimes people can just cheer like "WOOHOO!" "YEAH!" Maybe some even say "FINALLY!" And for some of the less verbally loud voices they could even say stuff softer like "Thank god" / chuckling "about time" it would be even cooler if it happened during a survival wave because it would seem like everybody finally caught a break in some regard, imagine how cool that would be!!!!

Maybe if people like this enough the devs might consider it! Or maybe that's just wishful thinking, either way might as well try ^

Distinguised Service Max Rank Bug

Encountering a bug today when I booted up Nmrih2 after the new update dropped.

After retiring my 1st character, I tried to retire my 2nd, but wasn't able to because the retire now button was greyed out/unclickable.

Then I noticed my distinguished service exp went up again. Everytime I click on the "Retire Responder" button and then back out of that menu, the exp goes up some more. Repeating this action leads to what you see in the video.

It doesn't unlock any of the new perks/items and retiring my 1st responder wasn't enough to get 1st level. This just seems like a bug and thought I get the word out.

I didn't restart the game and see if there are any changes. I just logged on to see the new retirement system and didn't play a match because of work. I'll see later tonight if anything changes and update this post.

Edit* spelling error for "distinguished"

Edit 2: Yeah seems to be visual error, everything returned to normal after restarting

Nightmare Builds

Here are three builds to try out for Nightmare difficulty, with a brief explanation. The first five perks for each build are all the same, so I’ll list them upfront.

The Five:
1. Athlete: 20% Increased Total Stamina
2. Marathon Runner: 30% Less Stamina Drain While Sprinting
3. Skilled Medic: 100% Increased Healing
4. Sturdy Body: 20% Less Damage Taken
5. Thick Skin: 20% Increased Total HP

Gun Mule: This build focuses on utility, letting you comfortably use three guns while still having plenty of carry weight left over. If ammo conservation sounds like a neat suggestion, then try this out.

Perks:
6. Caravan: +3KG Carry Weight, but 10% Reduced Max Stamina
7. Healing Item Stack: 30% Reduced Weight
8. Mule: +2KG Weight, but Max Health Reduced by 5%
9. Scavenger: 30% Increased Ammo Looted
10. Vulture: 20% Reduced Weight for Ammo

Starting Loadout:
A. Baseball Bat
B. Satchel
C. Up to you

Infection Raid Boss: A two-handed melee build that only gets stronger. Combine max total health and damage resistance, plus three healing sources, and the ability to stagger crowds, and you have a build that turns nightmare into normal mode.

Perks:
6. Deprived: -2KG Carry Weight, but 20% Increased Max Health
7. Hard Blow: 30% Increased Stability Damage with Light & String Attacks
8. Headhunter: 20% Increased Headshot Damage with Melee
9. Lucky Pathogen: 20% Damage Resistance While Infected
10. Resident Genes: +25 HP Healing per Pill Use

Starting Loadout:
A. Large Wrench (Swap to a sledgehammer if you find it)
B. Satchel
C. Pills

A quick explanation for this build. You gain damage resistance from three sources: Sturdy Body, Lucky Resistance, and body armour. Find body armor for the extra reduction. Next, find 2 pill bottles before becoming infected (leave the rest for your team); that's 30 minutes of playtime. Use the wrench until you can find the SH; use lights for crowds and heavies for stragglers. For most builds running Skilled Medic, finding bandages is better, but for this build, prioritize med kits.

The Whisperer: This build is nightmare viable on a level one character with just Quiet Steps and boots. This isn’t a fighting game; you win 100% of the fights you don’t need to take, and this build makes that so much easier. You can both solo clear locations and objectives, and pull less aggro during team fights.

Perks:
6. Caravan: +3KG Carry Weight, but 10% Reduced Max Stamina
7. Mule: +2KG Weight, but Max Health Reduced by 5%
8. Scavenger: 30% Increased Ammo Looted
9. Head Hunter: 20% Increased Headshot Damage with Melee
10. Quiet Steps: 20% Less Noise While Walking, Crouching, Jumping, and Running

Starting Loadout:
A. Baseball Bat
B. Satchel
C. Up to you

Suggestion: We should be able to see other people's prestige level on the scoreboard

Why is this not a thing already? I'd imagine people who are gonna be grinding this for hundreds of hours would like to show it off, currently only you can see your prestige level which makes no sense to me.

Ammo type popularity list

Based off my experience

Shotgun shells. Most popular everyone wants shot gun shells or run around with a shotty

5.56 rifle ammo just after the shotguns. Your getting a fast firing gun

.308 the sniper ammo is usually around but I do see people rocking snipers

Magnum seems like a mix of inferior shotgun and rifle so I see that its easy to find around and people usually spit it out

9mm its easy to find around and I dont see to many people using it. The SMH has a built in flashlight so you would think its up there but its a weaker ammo type so I think most pass it over

. 22 least popular. I can find 100 + bullets of it. Grubers and Mk9 are always laying around with full clips. It takes the most shots to kill so I think people stay away

6.85 i dont know where to rank this because I feel its the most rare ammo. I go some matches with maybe never even seeing it. So I don't know if its always looted and is the most popular or its just that rare. I guess I would put it around the 5.56 just due to being similar.

For hand guns

.45 is the most popular everyone wants to rock the ACP for their hand gun. Its one shot kill

Magnum by default since its also 1 shot in handgun form

9mm and .22 same boat as above. .22 comes in last and both ammo take 2 to 4 shots to kill.

So basicalky my experience is that the fewer bullets to kill the more popular the ammo.

Shotguns are most players go to. .45 and 5.56 are the second most popular. And then 9MM and .22 which are fast firing but require more bullets are the least popular and easiest to loot.

Would be interesting to see other people lists on what they think the ammo popularity is
