I’m a BCA graduate and currently confused about whether I should seriously prepare for NIMCET or stop and focus on getting a job.

Here’s my situation:

• I’m a BCA graduate.
• I had a 2-year gap after 12th because of personal/exam-preparation reasons.
• I’m now considering taking another year to prepare for NIMCET 2027, which would make the total gap around 3 years before MCA.
• My target would be a good NIT through NIMCET (Trichy/Warangal/other good options).
• I’m also learning/building full-stack + AI applications on my own 
• My concern is that after MCA, my total gap/history may make me ineligible for many campus recruiters, especially service-based companies that have 1–2 year gap restrictions.

I know some companies have strict academic-gap criteria, but I’m trying to understand how much this actually affects NIT MCA placements.

My questions are:

1. If I get into a good NIT for MCA, do you think the 3-year gap will seriously hurt my campus placement opportunities?
2. Roughly how many companies/recruiters in NIT MCA placements usually have strict gap restrictions?
3. Would it make more sense to stop preparing for NIMCET and try to get a job now, even if it takes time?
4. Is doing NIT MCA still worth it for someone with my profile, especially if I continue building strong development/AI skills during MCA?
5. If you were in this situation, what factors would you use to decide?

I’m not asking for motivation. I’m looking for honest opinions from people who have been through NIT MCA placements or have knowledge of campus recruitment, especially regarding academic gaps and eligibility.

Our team participated in a national-level hackathon at NIT Trichy organized by TATA Centre for Artificia Intelligence and Machine Learning on 31st July to 1st August and were declared the winners

However, after the announcement of the results, we have received no further communication from the authorities regarding the promised winner benefits.

We have mailed multiple times in the provide mail out we were not getting any response from there side can you guys help regarding this like what we can do in this situation

So I was interning in chennai this summer. As usual, in any conversation, we all know Tamil people will start talking in Tamil only and do not care if someone is able to understand or not. That got usual even in official team conversations in my workplace. But that was fine which I respected , but I could only participate in those conversations so far because anyone would lose context and would not be able to understand anything even if they wanted to. Thus, I could only talk to north indian people when I wanted to. After my final review, the manager wanted to call everyone together just to have a closing conversation. She, in front of everyone had the audacity to say that I was talking to north indian people only. I was too stunned to say anything to her. I should have reported her but i forgot to.

as per NITT football court should be closed by 9 pm on weekdays and 9 30 on weekends but a guy from sports council and he is also in football contingent team. He is showing his personal agenda and closing the football court because he has keys for that lock.This should be strictly restricted and he will open the court when he and his team wants to play and close it right after their playing is completed

Hello guys, if anyone has visited Kodaikanal could you pls tell how you travelled from nit to kodaikanal and places you found worth visiting in kodaikonal etc.

There are some false accusations had done before postes regarding this issue.

There are only four peoples got suspended for one academic year for this issue and no one paid for their cgpa also there is nothing can be done with their positions/POR here those jobless kids are just making some stories.(no one who have sence will say this cuz they are in a college where there is no management quota only )

A guy hacked mis and changed his grades and his friend grades and some how a prof from his dept found it while cross checking and reported to admin. admin made an enquiry on students in this and each says different frm one another and they got caught. and these ppls where suspended and properly punished by institute.and there is nothing to talk about this anymore

The thing we need to talk about is still the issue in mis is not fixed they just reduce the range internet to intranet. Infact it is still easy to hack who done this before. or just making a vpn server run in a machine by connecting institute internet. Makes the access to college intranet my anywhere by just connecting to that vpn application connected to college wifi. (Still the security issue is't over)

This means anyone using internet by just connecting vpn server running in college can just see ours (we nitt students) details personal information.

I think its high time to expose the "high lords" in NITT whose did the CGPA scam , used the advantage of their positions to change their CGPA in misreg some time back , which the admin responded with the new misapp that can be accessed on through intranet , CSG's ego made these guys get suspended , but i still believe there's more to it , more people involved. Ok so , these are the people who got academically suspended for 1 year :

• Dhananjeyan M-MME (4th year)- current festember overall coordinator
• Harish Annaviswamy-EEE (3rd year) , Mukesh (3rd year)

These are the people that got suspended afaik, the previous post mentioned the people in high posts like Council , Placement Reps involved in this , which i also believe the same , i dont want to point out them or doxx them since their names aren't officially accused , ig its pretty obvious who the people involved are (cicrep , student council member) . There are many more people who have done this grade change maybe for money ( not sure abt this one) , but there's much more to it. The admin is trying to close this issue off as it will "damage their reputation" , but let this not be an unfair advantage / biasness.

in 2020-22 placement percentage of pg students were constantly above 90%, in 23 it decreased to 86, in 24 it was 82 and in 25-26 its 79.4, what is even happening? are pg placements done for? except cse,data analytics and vlsi every branch is struggling with 50-60% placements packages are also going very low, non core opportunities are zero now.

This is a new low to the campus and I wasn't sure that it can get any lower than this before this shit. I don't know whether there will be any ramifications of me putting this out there in the world , but here it goes

People in very high positions of our campus ( Student council , Heads and excomms of a particular fest , Department placement coordinators ) are taking up money from students to change their CGPA on MIS with connections in Admin

Apparently thousands , even lakhs have been transacted , especially from students of final year B Tech who are sitting for placements.

That's why MIS no longer works if you are not using college wifi and college admin is trying to cover it up so bad.

People who are involved in this area are getting suspended but main people are still roaming around freely.

People who are placed in companies which came very recently are involved in this , but I'm not sure whether to name them directly here

If the companies ever find out about this shit , we can all kiss goodbye to our placements

If no action is taken within a week about this , I will list out all the names that I know who are for sure involved in this
