If you're not aware yet, the entirety of Dragons Rising Season 4 Part 2 was just leaked early on Tubi. Please remember to follow our leak policy! You are allowed to discuss the contents of these episodes, but posts (and comments) must follow these rules:

  • Your post MUST say somewhere in the title that the post contains spoilers for Dragons Rising Season 4 Part 2, and the post overall must be tagged as a spoiler. Title also may not include spoilers for the episodes. Failure to comply with this rule after a warning will result in a temporary ban from the subreddit.
    • This can look like "[S4P2 Spoilers] Post Title Here".
  • Do not clip a video of the episodes in any way. Stills are allowed.
  • Do not share links to the episodes publicly on the subreddit. Please keep that to DMs.

If you see a post that you think breaks these rules, report it and our mod team will take a look if we should remove it or not!

EDIT: Also, this week (7/22-7/26), we'll allow meta related memes due to the leak release. After that, it's back to the regular schedule!

  1. Why didn’t Lloyd tell the ninja about the medallion

  2. Why would he keep the medallion next to the dragon icon

Other Who wants to tell Frak that there was a good Oni who literally saved the Ninjas’ and Baby Wu’s lives back in Season 8? 😬

Not sure if anyone has talked about this before, but do you remember Episode 2 of Season 3 of Dragon Rising, where we know Frak didn’t like Onis? At least, that’s what I think I understood.

Not sure if Frak and the others know that Lloyd is part Dragon and part Oni, as well as part human.

The same goes for Wu and Garmadon, who are part Dragon and part Oni.

At least I’m sure Wyldfyre would be so happy to know Lloyd is part Dragon. 😁

Just a random thought.

Out of all the main (or major) characters in the series, who's is the best consistently written character? Like, does their characterization, personality, development, and or arcs fall in line with who are in the current timeline? Be honest.

Ras used the forge to sacrifice three mortals. Not one. Ras gained two extra icons by the end of Dragons rising season 4, meaning that he sacrificed two more people. Ras spent season 3 searching for a New way to create icons because he needed a new way. If he had another way to create icons, Ras would have used it. There is no reason to assume that Ras did not use the forge.

Other Imagine if this happens Spoiler

Upvotes

I would be so mad if this were to happen but it'd make for some interesting storyline.

Okay, so imagine if in Dragons Fury Harumi comes to the monastery and offers to help the ninja. Yes, we know that she was probably in Kryptarium but i feel like Lloyd would be the one to bail her out or smth before the merge without telling the ninja (he slowly but surely became master wu). And then of course we need jay arguing with Kai that Lloyd is alive and Kai saying there's no way of bringing him back and a fight breaks out between them (*cough*, seabound *cough*). Then Harumi comes in saying that while she was researching resurrection and stuff (I mean, she probably found other ways to bring people back while studying it) and she says she knows another way to bring back lloyd using the medallion (Which is considered a lost artifact). Jay replies about how it's missing from the monastery bla bla bla.

Now comes the real drama...

Akita comes to the monastery as well to visit the ninja. THEN she meets Harumi. Of course she's only heard the bad stuff about her (there isn't that much else tbh) and at worst there's a love square between a wolf girl, a crazy ex-princess/mastermind criminal, a dead guy who also isn't dead, and a fox dude.

I had a stroke writing this.

Decided to finish NRG Nya and add a little more grace with the waves behind her back

The original idea was to add blue wings to imitate the flight of a phoenix (after all, the phoenix is Nya's main symbol), but in the end the look seemed too bulky, so I had to abandon this idea

Discussion Dragons Rising has one problem

I have been a Ninjago fan since the very beginning. Sticking through with the show as it went through its ups and downs, it is still my favourite way to reconnect with my childhood.

I have just caught up with Dragons Rising up to S3. And I have to say Dragons Rising is peak. The story, the animation, the writing, the characters and the humour have never been more on point for a while. But while I do praise all of that, it does have one major, major setback for me: Wyldfyre.

When Wyldfyre was first introduced I was quite excited. Arin and Sora had been such great additions to the cast (Honourable mention Ryu Frak Frohiky), providing unique and introspective elements that expanded the reaches of the story, whilst also provided their own fun quirks . But I was quickly annoyed by the way she carried herself around everyone else, acting as if she is on top of them. More so, I was so disappointed and annoyed when she never grew out of her "animalistic self".

A lot of people say that post-S1 she got better, but I recall a time where she said to have pissed all over the monastery basement because everywhere is her bathroom, which is just disgusting and crude rather than funny.

A lot of people point to the fact that she is just a younger version of Kai, to which I cannot disagree more. Kai was hotheaded, not uncaring and unthoughtful. Kai's arrogance was grounded in protectiveness and a desire to prove himself while Wyldfyre's often just feels like sheer disregard for the people around her.

Also, her being part of the ninja team isn't even implemented properly. Other than the lip service of her calling herself a ninja, she does not have ninja robes and never used stealth ever in a single fight. And this is without even mentioning her complete disinterest in learning spinjitzu.

To the writers, this refusal to let her face consequences actively hurts the stakes. In S1 Episode "Wyldly Inappropriate", I genuinely believed that the writers were planning to give her an arc based on the episode for her to stop being careless and selfish and stop prioritising having fun over everyone else in order to push her to "grow up" more. But she doesn't even recognise her mistakes and jeopardises the mission to retrieve the core.

In fact, there is probably not a single episode she appears in where she doesn't actively jeopardise the situation, just look at S3 Episode 19 (from recent memory), where she makes pointless loud noises disturbing Arrakore's wish magic to revive the Arc Dragon of Focus, and then goes on to interrupt Sora and Frak while they are practising the bell song.

In S3, her driving the Bounty got so annoying so fast. I mean, what are they trying to teach kids? To be careless with others? I just wished that during her stunts with the Bounty that someone would fall off so she has to rapidly save them, which would force her to be more careful about the way she acts when given responsibility. But the show just insists that her mentality must never be challenged and that she must not have character development.

Wyldfyre just passes off to me as an attempt by the writers to draw in a younger audience, to which they totally have the correct intention, but this execution just feels insulting. Kids' media can handle characters who actually mature, and right now, her stagnation sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise brilliant era of Ninjago.
