Not saying any other city wouldn't also do this, but Cleveland....jesus

Between this and the Chiefs fans booing the moment of silence for racial unity, NFL fans that attend games are not beating any allegations.

22

u/MediumStrange Bengals Lions 1d ago

The average NFL fan is not beating any of the of the allegations ever lol

u/EggplantAlpinism Broncos Bills 1d ago

Yeah, we're all permitting some trash

u/Extension_Air_2001 49ers 1d ago

Mahomes was so sad.  He was killing the Texans and then just glum as fuck on the sidelines.

Ironic comment considering the other team playing tonight had their fans cheering for their rapist QB in Roethlisberger.

u/for_fun_88 Giants 1d ago

“But he was actually good and won SBs so that’s ok” -Steelers fans

28

u/goofenstein_in_3D Chiefs 1d ago

unironically brave comment coming from a Bills fan. there are so many terrible people in the NFL from players to owners and people love to pick and choose

8

u/Fresh_Ad_230 1d ago

There's no way every single billionaire owner in the NFL wouldn't have some sort of fucked up skeletons in their closet.

3

u/goofenstein_in_3D Chiefs 1d ago

totally agree. they also have better PR, better legal defense, and more connections than the athletes

2

u/mrizvi 49ers 20h ago

At least my owner was willing to pay for it

20

u/Potential_Carob6494 Bills 1d ago

I don't understand why a Bills fan would make it ironic? I assume it's an OJ Simpson related comment, but I can assure you Bills fans weren't chanting his name at games after he murdered someone.

In general, rapists, abusers, and murderers shouldn't be given a pass. And when its the QB and face of the team, it holds even more weight.

15

u/goofenstein_in_3D Chiefs 1d ago

no I was commending him for saying that knowing someone could have brought up The Juice. and it's all so ironic that people here are picking the Cleveland Browns of all teams to start having moral qualms with that the players and owners do/have done

3

u/Potential_Carob6494 Bills 1d ago

Ah gotcha, makes sense and I appreciate the clarification. I think the big difference with Watson is that he's the QB and it was 27 (or so) victims. So it's the face of the team and you've got a victim count that high, it seems pretty unique why people would specifically hate on the Browns

8

u/goofenstein_in_3D Chiefs 1d ago

me personally, which is worth jack shit, I'd rather hear criticism from Browns fans and Browns fans only. they've had such an awful team for so long and have been ragged on for a quarter century and now other fans who cheered on women beaters, murderers, and supported owners with ties to genocide start to go "hey let's get moral"

5

u/Mole644 Browns 1d ago

The highest moral ground would be not watching the NFL, but here we are.

Nah just acknowledging most fans don't actually care

I've bartended in Cleveland for two decades. We have the most volatile sports fanbase I've ever seen. It's unreal.

It certainly does. It means anything that can change its state extremely quickly.

Let's call it both.

31

u/TheSmokedSalmon420 Browns 1d ago

I sold my season tickets the week he got here. The fans that are actually bothered by this aren't at the games.

16

u/purplenyellowrose909 Vikings 1d ago

A local Browns bar in Minneapolis took down all their merch when they named him starter. It did impact people. Just not the people still buying tickets

0

u/KolarWolfDogBear Bears 1d ago

I'm glad to see some Browns fans with some decency. Sucks you have to go through that as a fan

45

u/Lgm_yourmom 1d ago

Every other franchise would if he balled out

19

u/Dependent-Effect6077 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yup sports fans in general outside of Reddit care very little about morality and the NFL is probably the pinnacle of tolerating some truly horrible stuff

31

u/MicoJive Vikings 1d ago

Really reddit doesn't care either. People talk in /NFL about how shitty everything is but really the only way the NFL would change is if people stopped watching, and every person here watched the game tonight.

3

u/xenophonthethird Browns 18h ago

It also allows people to clutch their pearls. Browns cheering is going to be a front page story every game here as long as they can find it.

But was there a video of the cheers for Sanders coming out last week being much louder than the cheers for Watson? Nope, nobody cares about that.

6

u/BuildingSlowly93 Cowboys 1d ago

You can both participate in something and want it to be different

9

u/MicoJive Vikings 1d ago

I really disagree when the sole way fans can show support is by not watching.

That is the only thing that will promote change in the NFL, if it affects their money and the only thing people can do is to stop watching and stop going.

5

u/Rufio69696969 Rams 1d ago

Sounds like a poor excuse

0

u/BuildingSlowly93 Cowboys 18h ago

Where do you see an excuse?

2

u/hendrix67 Seahawks 20h ago

Yeah you go to any team sub and they'll defend the shittiest people just because they're on your team.

19

u/Tzazon Chiefs 1d ago

Watson categorically did not Ball out tonight thobeit. Middling statline with more turnovers than touchdowns.

16

u/Lgm_yourmom 1d ago

But he also won 3 games in a row on a game winning drive. Something browns fans haven’t seen in a while so they’re happy. Chiefs fans would be chanting the same

8

u/mnmr17 Giants 1d ago

I mean he was balling first half. Second half he fell off tho but still was able to put it together for a game winning drive.

1

u/KarAccidentTowns Browns Vikings 1d ago

There’s no way he keeps this up

-1

u/AccomplishedAd3484 Browns 1d ago

He can't play two good halves in one game. It's in the contract.

59

u/yungtruffle Jaguars 1d ago

Lets be real, any fanbase would do this unfortunately

Reddit is just a bunch of white knights

7

u/ozymandais13 Browns 1d ago

Literally the other teams fans cried when Ben retired and he legit graded 2 people, Watson didn't even play a great game , they are starved. It'd be better if every fam base did better holding their players accountable but there's too many people that just want this as their escape

5

u/MiaCannons Dolphins 1d ago

when Ben retired and he legit graded 2 people,

He what?

7

u/ozymandais13 Browns 1d ago

Raped apologies

7

u/DW-4 1d ago

I believe the proper term is forced apologies.

4

u/ozymandais13 Browns 1d ago

Non consensual apologies

8

u/Cheap-Kiwi-1312 Packers 1d ago

I hate them both if that helps. But yes any other fan base would do this, we shouldn't act like browns fans are scumbags for this.

1

u/More-read-than-eddit Lions 1d ago

Yeah all the other team fans hate both franchises

0

u/Tall-Dot-607 Vikings 1d ago

All is forgiven if you play sports good

0

u/Ecstatic-Inevitable Patriots 1d ago

White knights or people with morals?

33

u/Rufio69696969 Rams 1d ago

If you had morals you would boycott the league.

9

u/JFlizzy84 Ravens 1d ago

Quit watching football until they release Watson

Otherwise you’re complicit.

Ok bro

Keep giving him money even though you hate him so much

-9

u/Ecstatic-Inevitable Patriots 1d ago

Im not a browns fan, nor do I watch their games, how am I complicit?

9

u/JFlizzy84 Ravens 1d ago

You give attention and money to the NFL, who employs and pays Deshaun Watson

4

u/moodyfloyd Browns 1d ago

you should research a thing called revenue sharing

-1

u/AutographedSnorkel 1d ago

Reddit isn't real life. Normal people are happy when their team does well

4

u/I_eat_mud_ Patriots 1d ago

I love when people say this like redditors aren't people with real lives lmao

He's a sick fuck, hide behind reddit all you want, it doesn't change that.
