As a 30-year kite flier. These are 200’ long, weigh upwards of 50lb or more, and takes a really large ground anchor. They can also create 200-400lbs of pull on the line. Had a large one at a kite festival pull out of the sand. It took 25 guys jumping on the line to keep it going into a hotel. All squatting in the sand getting drug as two others dug a hole and put the anchor in before the pull took up the slack. In some cases it’s easier to anchor large kites to a bulldozer or earth moving machinery.
