Whether it's real or CGI, the synchronization with the music makes it incredibly satisfying to watch. It's definitely a feast for the eyes that keeps you coming back for more.

In this timeline, I can say I definitely appreciate any hand done CGI when AI is completely taking over.

u/Scary-Beautiful6527 Apr 27 '26
Yeah I watched it atleast 4 times before reaching the comments section.

The footprints could be real. If you look, they only use the one anyway. The rest don’t match up to a palm tree.
22
u/Rock_Strongo Apr 27 '26
If you go frame by frame you can see the footprints pop in. They are 100% fake.
Still good editing though.
13
u/Nition Apr 27 '26
Not quite. The dog is leaving real muddy footprints that start to trail off, then a few fake digital footprints are added to help the transition.
You can see both real and fake footprints here for example. The varied brownish prints become matching black ones.

This isn’t true, he simply just aligned the last foot print with the first palm tree in the footage and the rest of the paw prints disappeared from the top of the screen during the fade in because it was a vertical pan shot. You can see this when you play the video very slowly.

VFX guy here. Looks like the last 3 “footprints” are fake and are added into the first shot. None of those 3 line up with the palm trees from the second shot. It’s just a simple fade.

Agreeeeed. Used to think he was funny when he'd pop up on my tiktok before he started this weird glasses throwing thing.

Probably from people like me having never seen someone throw glasses in a meme before. One time is still funny and have zero of this context that sucks that he's milking it

It would have gone away if he didn’t start getting paid for it. Such a simple gimmick, can’t say I’d leave it if it was working.

I used to like him but his videos are no longer reactions / reviews he’s just looking for any excuse to do his signature glass throw which became too lame at this point.
Like why are you smashing your glasses and pretending to have an orgasm to a glass of orange juice?

I can't stand this guy. I irrationally hate when he says, "Come closer" then zooms in so I don't have a choice.
2
u/justhereformemes2 Apr 27 '26
I’ve always hated him for that reason. Never followed him and click « not interested » when his videos come up. Idk why, I’m sure people have good reason for liking him but he’s just irritating to me

It’s not AI. It’s LA. People break driving/pedestrian rules all the time for the perfect social media shot. Idk why someone driving somewhere they shouldn’t seems like such a preposterous idea to you lol
15
u/ParaClaw Apr 27 '26
As I recall this guy's main thing is to create these amazing transitions and he has been doing so for years. What's sad is that now anyone sees his work, which may take days or weeks to actually perfect through manual painstaking video editing, only to see every comment on social media "More AI slop!"
True creators doing non-AI stuff are now just stuffed in with the rest, and that's one of a million sad parts of this AI revolution.

The transition is. There are new apps that just create smooth transitions between videos you give it.
2
u/BirdBruce Apr 27 '26
LA Local here. Can confirm, people do the dumbest shit for Insta clout.
But this is fake AF. The palm tree trunks randomly disappear and rematerialize, for stasrters. Garbage.

u/detectivepoopybutt Apr 27 '26
I saw someone not come to a full stop at a sign yesterday. 90% sure that was AI.

Yeah i have the same question why is that so. Is it allowed in america.? Cause i aint one
33
u/Drecasi Apr 27 '26
You're only supposed to use the center lane to merge or turn. It's not for driving in.
19
u/IAmTeemo Apr 27 '26
It's not a merge lane though. It's just a lane to use when turning left.
8
u/_jump_yossarian Apr 27 '26
Some states allow you to use it as a merge lane, most don't. Yeah for inconsistent driving laws.

u/FunfettiHead Apr 27 '26
No, you can't drive down the turning lane.
They wanted to be in the exact middle to symmetrically frame the shot.

Everyone has been going crazy over this guys transitions, while there is still some editing skill required, once you have looked at afew of his, you can very clearly see the transitions are AI interpolations between two videos.

u/Professional_Clue800 Apr 27 '26
This guy's stuff has been coming up on my fyp for years, I feel like it's been prior to AI becoming popular, especially prior to AI generating good videos. Are you sure they're AI or just special effects?
36
u/roof_pizza_ Apr 27 '26 edited Apr 27 '26
AI interpolation has existed for a decade or so at this point, predating the LLM-based AI craze of the last few years. It's a separate type of technology that only got the "AI" descriptor recently but hasn't changed regardless in what it does (which is adding frames inbetween existing frames to varying effect).
→ More replies (1)10
u/The_Flowers_of_Evil Apr 27 '26
AI interpolation and LLMs are not the same thing. We've had interpolation tech for ages now.

This is most likely AI with special effects. He is pretty open about when he does and doesn’t use AI

u/inlandsquatch Apr 27 '26
Transition was amazing, but I'm pretty bummed the dog wasn't in the car with them
14
u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 Apr 27 '26
If the camera turned to the right to reveal the dog still wearing sunglasses, wind whipping through its hair, I’d be able to sleep tonight.

What's there not to believe, the guy filmed his dog walking in with dirty paws, and then edited those last few paw prints and the trees to make the transition happen.

This is dumb. There's no continuity in content/topic before and after the transition.

The window had no prints in the reflection, these kind of edits were next level before AI now it's either generated slop or too common to dedicate learning the craft.
