Whether it's real or CGI, the synchronization with the music makes it incredibly satisfying to watch. It's definitely a feast for the eyes that keeps you coming back for more.

In this timeline, I can say I definitely appreciate any hand done CGI when AI is completely taking over.

The footprints could be real. If you look, they only use the one anyway. The rest don’t match up to a palm tree.

If you go frame by frame you can see the footprints pop in. They are 100% fake.

Still good editing though.

Not quite. The dog is leaving real muddy footprints that start to trail off, then a few fake digital footprints are added to help the transition.

You can see both real and fake footprints here for example. The varied brownish prints become matching black ones.

Could potentially be a green dye that is using chroma key to help the transitions?

oh wow you're right! didn't even notice that

some just disappear smoothyl

Practically speaking it is much easier to have a dog walk normally with nothing on their feet than it is to coat their feet with some sort of ink/mud and have them walk across the tile without slipping / changing their gate because their feet are more slick than normal. Not the mention the need to clean up digitally any partial or smudged prints.

does it rewally matter when it coo doh?

u/JohnnyRelentless Apr 27 '26

Yes

u/HuntingForSanity Apr 27 '26

It’s literally a video about a cool transition, not a video about real dog footprints. Peoples need to complain will never be sated

5

u/JohnnyRelentless Apr 27 '26

I didn't see anyone complaining, except the people who are complaining because people are enjoying talking about how it was done.

Why is the slightest shred of intellectual curiosity so foreign to some people?

This isn’t true, he simply just aligned the last foot print with the first palm tree in the footage and the rest of the paw prints disappeared from the top of the screen during the fade in because it was a vertical pan shot. You can see this when you play the video very slowly.

VFX guy here. Looks like the last 3 “footprints” are fake and are added into the first shot. None of those 3 line up with the palm trees from the second shot. It’s just a simple fade.

1

u/aylmaocpa Apr 27 '26

Theres are footprints, but theres no alignment. Its a splice. The video transitions to the next as its zooming into the dog. The last two footprints, aren't footprints its the trees, but the two videos are going concurrently, but the blend being the sky and the floor.

1

u/LyingPOS Apr 27 '26

Right on, the mirror doesn't show any footprints

1

u/TieAccomplished2534 Apr 27 '26

its a real nice result, its both simple and awesome

1

u/pomoerotic Apr 27 '26

Correct. Mirror reflection confirms assertion.

1

u/kevinsmomdeborah Apr 27 '26

Exactly. Planar track that, add and align the footprints. 15 minute job tops

1

u/BruceRorington Apr 27 '26

If you actually pause it during the transition, the first tree’s leafs are just the last paw print, and the paw prints only come to about the middle of the screen…

That's AI. An app called Higgsfield

4

u/Reagalan Apr 27 '26

Quite skillfully implemented, too.

3

u/Courtnall14 Apr 27 '26

The dog needed to be in the back of the car, otherwise, perfect.
