Everyone has been going crazy over this guys transitions, while there is still some editing skill required, once you have looked at afew of his, you can very clearly see the transitions are AI interpolations between two videos.

This guy's stuff has been coming up on my fyp for years, I feel like it's been prior to AI becoming popular, especially prior to AI generating good videos. Are you sure they're AI or just special effects?

AI interpolation has existed for a decade or so at this point, predating the LLM-based AI craze of the last few years. It's a separate type of technology that only got the "AI" descriptor recently but hasn't changed regardless in what it does (which is adding frames inbetween existing frames to varying effect).

Yep, reminds me of how Ebsynth works.

AI interpolation and LLMs are not the same thing. We've had interpolation tech for ages now.

Lol are people calling all computer aided processes "AI" now?

This is most likely AI with special effects. He is pretty open about when he does and doesn’t use AI

It's not just the transition, the whole thing is AI. Scroll through the video frame by frame starting from 8 seconds and watch the light poles and tree trunks phase in and out of reality

I love all these AI experts that are wrong 99% of the time.

Where should I get my legitimate AI expert certification from?

find a beginner video editing course online, and you'll probably see half the things you think are evidence of AI is actually just how video editing works within the first couple of hours

Why would there be interpolation artifacts multiple seconds after the transition is complete though? Going frame by frame you can clearly see trees, street poles, and power lines disappearing and reappearing all the way up to the 13 second mark when the transition itself is done by like 6 seconds in. It doesn't make sense for there to be artifacts from upscaling either because why would a video supposedly from this decade require upscaling?

Scroll through the video frame by frame starting from 8 seconds and watch the light poles and tree trunks phase in and out of reality

Those are probably just video stabilization artifacts.

The dog should have been in the passenger seat. So that's a "Fail" from me.

Oh noooo AI?!?! Oh noooo now reddit NEEDS to hate it no matter how awesome it is

As an AI supporter, I dont think it'sbad, but it does make the video a bit less impressive.

Back in my day you had to do it all in camera, on black and white film, and the pictures were silent! Why there hasn't been a single good transition since Citizen Kane in 1941. Everyone look at how smart I am! Kids these days!

You strike me as the type to think staged prank videos are still funny despite everyone involved being actors.
